Thermospheric neutral wind studies over the equatorial region:A review

Thermospheric neutral winds(TNWs)refer to the neutral gases in the thermosphere circulating as tides,which play a crucial role in the dynamics of the thermosphere-ionosphere system(TIS).Global geospace neutral winds,particularly over the magnetic equator,have been a subject of study for several ***,despite the known importance of neutral winds,a comprehensive understanding and characterization of the winds is still *** ground-based and satellite missions have provided valuable information on the contribution of neutral winds to the global atmospheric ***,efforts in the global monitoring of neutral winds are still lacking,and the drivers behind the behavior of TNWs as well as their influence on the TIS remain *** address these knowledge gaps in the global circulation of TNWs,it is crucial to develop a deep understanding of the neutral wind characteristics over different *** low-latitude equatorial region in particular has been observed to exert complex influences on TNWs because of the unique effects of the Earth’s magnetic field at the dip *** neutral winds over this region will provide valuable insights into the unique dynamics and processes that occur in this region,thereby enhancing our understanding of their role in the overall dynamics of the ***,through empirical observations,an improved ability to accurately model and predict the behavior of this region can be *** review article addresses challenges in understanding equatorial winds by reviewing historical measurements,current missions,and the interactions of ionospheric and thermospheric phenomena,emphasizing the need for comprehensive measurements to improve global atmospheric dynamics and weather forecasting.

In engineering practice,it is often necessary to determine functional relationships between dependent and independent *** relationships can be highly nonlinear,and classical regression approaches cannot always provide sufficiently reliable ***,Machine Learning(ML)techniques,which offer advanced regression tools to address complicated engineering issues,have been developed and widely *** study investigates the selected ML techniques to evaluate their suitability for application in the hot deformation behavior of metallic *** ML-based regression methods of Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Decision Tree Regression(DTR),and Gaussian Process Regression(GPR)are applied to mathematically describe hot flow stress curve datasets acquired experimentally for a medium-carbon *** the GPR method has not been used for such a regression task before,the results showed that its performance is the most favorable and practically unrivaled;neither the ANN method nor the other studied ML techniques provide such precise results of the solved regression analysis.

Morphology engineering of ZnO micro/nanostructures under mild conditions for optoelectronic application

Zinc oxide(ZnO)serves as a crucial functional semiconductor with a wide direct bandgap of approximately 3.37 *** reaction is commonly used in the synthesis of ZnO micro/nanostructures,given its low cost,simplicity,and easy ***,ZnO morphology engineering has become desirable through the alteration of minor conditions in the reaction process,particularly at room *** this work,ZnO micro/nanostructures were synthesized in a solution by varying the amounts of the ammonia added at low temperatures(including room temperature).The formation of Zn^(2+)complexes by ammonia in the precursor regulated the reaction rate of the morphology engineering of ZnO,which resulted in various structures,such as nanoparticles,nanosheets,microflowers,and single ***,the obtained ZnO was used in the optoelectronic application of ultraviolet detectors.

长余辉发光纳米材料关闭光源仍能保持发光,由于其能够完全消除自发组织荧光,在生物传感和生物成像领域展示了潜在应用前景.尽管长余辉发光材料已经取得了较大的进展,但仍缺少具有低检测限和高灵敏度的长余辉检测平台.基于此,本文开发了具有优异长余辉和超长余辉时间的Zn2GeO4:Mn,Cr纳米棒.通过创建深缺陷, Cr3+的共掺杂明显提高了余辉强度和余辉时间.将Zn2GeO4:Mn,Cr-抗体和Fe3O4磁性纳米粒子-抗体构建成生物传感器,用于N蛋白检测.获得的检测限可低至39.82 ag/mL,远低于之前报道的长余辉发光生物传感器,这归因于荧光共振能量传递.此外,构建的长余辉生物传感器还实现了高检测特异性.因此,所制备的Zn2GeO4:Mn,Cr长余辉发光材料可作为生物传感器的候选材料.该策略为开发具有高灵敏度和特异性的生物传感平台提供了有效的指导.

Establishing a new testing protocol of the electrochemical stability window for electric double-layer capacitors

The electrochemical stability window(ESW) is crucial for determining the energy density of electric double-layer capacitors(EDLCs). However, current ESW testing protocols of EDLCs are strongly affected by artificial factors, thereby leading to unreliable result. To solve this problem, we first identify the key shortcomings of the traditional protocols by analyzing their test principles. Subsequently, taking an aqueous carbon-based EDLC as an example, we design a side reaction descriptor to represent the response difference in the charging capacitance to side reactions between the cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic chargedischarge methods. With the aid of this descriptor, we propose a new ESW testing protocol, which is not only able to completely avoid the adverse influence of subjective factors but also fully consider the operating condition limitations. The protocol can be extended from the single electrode to the full device. This work proposes a more rigorous definition of ESW and provides a reliable protocol for evaluating the ESW of EDLCs.

Structure, Electrical Resistivity and Superconductivity of Lowalloyed γ-U Phase Retained to Low Temperatures by Means of Rapid Cooling

The γ-U phase alloys can be retained down to low temperatures with less required alloying concentration by using the splat-cooling technique with a cooling rate better than 10^6 K/s. Doping with 15 at.% Mo, Pt, Pd, Nb leads to a stabilization of the cubic γ-U phase, while it requires much higher Zr concentrations （≥30 at.% Zr）. All U-T splats become superconducting with Tc in the range of 0.61-2.11 K. A good agreement of the experimentally observed specific-heat jump at Tc with that from BCS theory prediction was obtained for U-15 at.% Mo consisting of the γ-U phase with an ideal bcc A2 structure.

Synthesis of Fullerene by Pyrolysis of Acetylenein Thermal HF-Plasma

Carbon soot containing fullerene was continuously produced in volume by pyrolyzing acetylene in thermal HF-Plasma. The characteristics of the carbon soot and C60 were analyzed by thtransmission electron microscopy, UV/visible, IR and Raman spectroscopy. The results show that the main ingredients of the carbon soot with size of about 25 nm are amorphous carbon, graphite and fullerene. The fullerene yield in carbon soot is about 2.5 g·h^-1. Compared with the graphite arc discharge method, the acetylene thermal plasma method is a preferential one for synthesis of fullerene.

Theoretical Investigation on the Low-Lying States of LaP Molecule

The completely unexplored LaP molecule is investigated by ab initio methods. Potential energy curves for the lowlying states of LaP are constructed by means of the diffusion Monte Carlo method combined with three different trial functions. Spectroscopic constants are also numerically derived and the ground state is assigned, looking forward to experimental comparisons. Moreover, variations of the permanent dipole moments as a function of the internuclear separation for the two lowest states of the diatomic LaP are studied and analyzed.

The discontinuous Petrov-Galerkin method for one-dimensional compressible Euler equations in the Lagrangian coordinate

In this paper, a Petrov-Galerkin scheme named the Runge-Kutta control volume （RKCV） discontinuous finite ele- ment method is constructed to solve the one-dimensional compressible Euler equations in the Lagrangian coordinate. Its advantages include preservation of the local conservation and a high resolution. Compared with the Runge-Kutta discon- tinuous Galerkin （RKDG） method, the RKCV method is easier to implement. Moreover, the advantages of the RKCV and the Lagrangian methods are combined in the new method. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and the reliability of the algorithm.

Study of Current Sheath Velocity and Its Distribution Using Tridimensional Magnetic Probe in Sahand Plasma Focus

The current sheath velocity in 0.25 Torr gas pressure of Filippov type plasma focus is studied experimentally. By using two tridimensional magnetic probes on top of the anode surface, the current sheath velocity is measured for argon, oxygen and nitrogen. Additionally, the effect of charging voltage on the current sheath velocity is studied in both axial and radial phases. We found that, the maximum current sheath velocities at both radial and axial phases are respectively 4.33 ± 0.28 （cm/μs） and 3.92 ± 0.75 （cm/μs） with argon as the working gas at 17 kV. Also, the minimum values of current sheath velocity are 1.48 ± 0.15 （cm/μs） at the radial phase and 1.14 ± 0.09 （cm/μs） at the axial phase with oxygen at 12 kV. The current sheath velocity at the radial phase is higher than that at the axial phase for all gases and voltages. In this study, variation of the full width half maximum （FWHM） of magnetic probe signals with voltage is investigated for different gases at radial and axial phases.
