From BIM model to 3D construction printing:A framework proposal

The growth of 3D construction printing needs appropriate integration into the planning and execution phases of building *** this aim,the Architecture,Engineering,and Construction sector(AEC)has been increasingly adopting building information modeling(BIM)systems to synchronize design and construction *** study proposes a technical workflow to manage 3D construction printing into BIM models,evaluating various procedures according to construction element *** on mature software platforms,the research details the data transfer process using a case study of a single-story *** case delves into design procedures for constructing walls of varied shapes,adjustments in width,joints,openings,textures,fillings,and the insertion of reinforcements and services while also discussing requirements of other building *** steps for managing design information and controlling printing machines are *** study’s outcome presents a comprehensive information flow,encompassing model segmentation,geometric data transfer,adjustments of details,and the generation of printing ***,it is offered a discussion that underlines the importance of a synergistic digital information flow that merges both design and execution phases,promoting construction efficiency and the embrace of innovative *** contribution of the paper focuses on technical design strategies for 3D construction printing,but also on suggesting an integrated process.

Allophane as a Nanotechnological Additive in Masonry Materials to Increase Resistance and Waterproofing

The constant need for high-strength materials in the construction industry promotes the research of additives that improve the properties of masonry materials. The use of allophane as an additive in concrete and mortar mixtures was implemented to improve their strength and waterproofing, respectively, using compression and water absorption tests according to their corresponding standards (ASTM C1231, ASTM D2938, and ASTM C1585). The samples were evaluated at different concentrations and curing ages. In addition, different sand/cement ratios were considered for the mortar. The results revealed that there was a 9.4% increase in compressive strength in concrete and a 23.7% reduction in water absorption in mortar for the 5:1 ratio. These changes would be the result of the interaction of the nanoporous additive in the atomic crystal structure of the material demonstrating the nanotechnological nature of allophane.

Agro-Industrial Waste as a Source of Raw Material:Eggshell and Ash of Agave salmiana Useful for the Synthesis of Hydroxyapatite

Agave salmiana ash and poultry eggshell powder as CaO sources were used for obtaining nanostructured hydro-xyapatite(HAP).The synthesis was carried out by the Green Chemistry Hydrothermal Biosynthesis at 180℃ with a pH of 5,by reacting CaO from Agave Salmiana ash and Eggshell powder,with dibasic caldium phosphate(CaH-PO_(4)+2H_(2)O)in an aqueous solution,with Aloe barbadensis *** product was characterized by X-ray dif-fraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),and Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM).The size and shape of the hydroxyapatite particles changed dramati-cally in the presence of Aloe *** crystals of Hydroxyapatite were observed when Eggshell powder and Agave salmiana ash were used as raw materials in the presence of the Aloe barbadensis *** with shapes of ribbons and plates from 1 micrometers to 8 micrometers were observed when using the eggshell powder in the presence of Aloe bar badensis and,in the case of Agave salmiana ash in the presence of Aloe bar-badensis,crystals with shapes of quadra ngular prisms and hexagonal(polyhedra)with sizes from 2 micrometers to 20 micrometers were *** was therefore successfully biosynthesized by a green and sus-tainable method that reduces the environmental impact.

Indicators of Energy Efficiency in Buildings. Comparison with Standards in Force in Argentina

In this work we make a comparative study of the energy behaviour in different building types. We analyze three cases of office buildings and three residential buildings, and compare them with a previous sample. We seek to find correlations or differences in behavior in terms of potential energy losses and gains, and UL values compared with Argentinian Standards to verify the degree of efficiency. For energy analysis we used a software which allows the analysis of thermal and energy building performance at steady state on a monthly basis. This software is called EnergoCAD and it also determines formal indicators based on IRAM standards. We conclude that the indicators used are clear to energetically “grade” buildings and to facilitate comparisons. In turn, smaller buildings are relatively less energy efficient than larger ones. At the same time it is noteworthy that the energy inefficiency has been growing rapidly over the years. Finally it is noted that none of the cases analyzed meets the National Standards.

Urban Heat Island： Dynamic Simulation, Assessment and Measuring Mitigation in Cities of Extreme Dry Weather

Increasing urbanization in the cities of northern Mexico reflects a general trend to increased temperatures, so it is likely that heat waves amplify the frequency and intensity in urban centers, mainly located in arid and semiarid as Mexicali city with extremely arid climate, very hot in summer and cold and rainy in winter. Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico is located at N32°38＇ and W115°20＇. The urban area is expanded over 14,890 hectares, with a population rise the 689,775. In the last four decades has experienced an accelerated industrial growth and mismatched land uses, for example： most of the industrial parks were established before the 1980 in what was the outskirts of the city, but nowadays practically are inside of the urban area contributing to the increase the urban temperature. The heat islands profile shows that are intensified in industrial areas as well as trade and services. The preliminary scenarios of climate change for Mexicali indicate that for the decade of 2080 the temperature will increase between 4.2℃ and 4.4℃. This paper addresses in a simulation context, an industrial and commercial city sector and their ability to implement urban heat island mitigation strategies. The simulation of this process requires several spatial analysis tools and specific knowledge about the processes that increase urban temperatures. In this work, only land use, land cover and buildings are considered. The proposed method takes into account the actual spatial organization to analyze trends for the proposed growth areas.

On a Shallow Water Model for the Simulation of Turbidity Currents

We present a model for hyperpycnal plumes or turbidity currents that takes into account the interaction between the turbidity current and the bottom,considering deposition and erosion effects as well as solid transport of particles at the bed load due to the *** entrainment from the ambient water in which the turbidity current plunges is also *** of ambient water is neglected and the rigid lid assumption is *** model is obtained as a depth-average system of equations under the shallow water hypothesis describing the balance of fluid mass,sediment mass and mean *** character of the system is analyzed and numerical simulations are carried out using finite volume schemes and path-conservative Roe schemes.

Classification method is a formula, logical description generalizing characteristics of objects of related area. Nowadays, billions of smart objects are immersed in the environment, sensing, interacting, and cooperating with each other to enable efficient services. When we think about IoT, classification is a major challenge particularly if our technology is international level applicable. So, this limitation needs clear and deep analysis of the existing classification matrixes and gives some future directions depending on the different researches in the area. The paper surveys the current state-of-art in the classification of IoT. First, we try to explain commonly existing classification matrixes;Second, cooperation of different methods defending on classification matrixes used. Then analyses challenges that IoT faced from classification angle and finally we give some direction for future IoT classification.

In the framework of the Thomas–Fermi(TF) approach, a model for the p-type double-δ-doped(DDD) system in Ga As is presented. This model, unlike other works in the literature, takes into account that the Poisson equation associated with the system is nonlinear. The electronic structure is calculated for heavy and light holes. The changes in the electronic structure result of the distance d between the doped layers are studied. In particular, the relative absorption coefficient as well as the relative refractive index change is calculated as a function of the incident photon energy for heavy holes. The effect of the interlayer distance exhibits, in the absorption coefficient, a red shift of the peak position and a decrease in amplitude when the distance increases. In addition, the relative refractive index change node has a red shift as well as the interlayer distance increases. The calculations show that the effect of the separation between layers has a greater influence on the linear terms. These results are very important for theoretical calculations and engineering of optical and electronic devices based in δ-doped Ga As.
