Investigation of N Deficiency in Cherry Trees Using Visible and Near-Infrared Spectra Part of the Spectrum in Field Condition

This objective of the study was to develop a model for the determination of N deficiency in cherry trees using a combination of visible near infrared methods and spectro-radiometric *** our experimental design,cherry seedlings were grown under various N deficiency conditions in nutrient-controlled *** reflectance values of plant leaves were measured using a *** leaves samples were simultaneously *** nutrient contents were determined in the ***,we performed a statistical comparison of the reflectance *** analysis results established the significant ***,we received accurate regression models for predicting N deficiency in cherry leaves that were grown in nutrient ***,we verified the model validity by measuring the reflectance of the leaves collected from cherry orchards at various locations using a *** deficiencies were calculated using the developed model,and then,the predicted and measured data were compared to evaluate model *** these results,we determined the wavelengths that yielded the most accurate results for N prediction,selected from the blue and green regions of the *** established that for N prediction in cherry trees,the simplest model can be created using 560and 570nm ***,the evaluated model can be applicable only under certain *** concluded that in order to develop aprediction method with sufficient application capacity,as well as the ability to assess nutritional and physiological characteristics,the ecology condition of the plant should be properly considered based on the model.

In this study,three semipredictive activity coefficient models:Wilson,non-random-two liquid model(NRTL),and universal quasi-chemical model(UNIQUAC),have been used for modeling vapor-liquid equilibrium properties of ternary mixtures that include substances found in alcoholic distillation processes of wine and *** particular,vapor-liquid equilibrium in ternary mixtures containing water + ethanol + congener has been modeled using parameters obtained from binary and ternary mixture *** congeners are substances that although present in very low concentrations,of the order of part per million,are important enological *** results given by these different models have been compared with literature data and conclusions about the accuracy of the models studied are drawn,recommending the best models for correlating and predicting phase equilibrium properties of this type of mixtures.

Interest in preconcentration techniques for the determination of metals at ultratrace levels still continues increasingly because of some disadvantages of flameless atomic absorption spectrometry as well as the high costs of other sensitive methods in compared to flame atomic absorption *** this study,thiol-containing sulfonamide resin was synthesized,characterized and applied as a new sorption material for solid phase extraction of nickel in drinking water *** preconcentration procedure,flame atomic absorption spectrometry was used for *** parameters were found to be pH=3.2,contact time=20 min and eluate volume=3 *** limit of detection was found to be 0.75 ng·*** synthesized resin exhibits the superiority in compared to the other adsorption reagents because of the fac. that there is no necessity of any complexing reagent,high sorption capacity as well as the relatively fast extraction *** Ni concentrations in the studied 21 kind of water samples were found to be in the range of BDL-4.0 ng·mL-1.

T CELL-DEPENDENT POLYCLONAL B CELL ACTIVATION OF HUMAN PBL INDUCED BY ACTINOMYCES VISCOSUS T 14 V

The T cell dependence of polyclonal B lymphocyte activation (PBA) induced by one of the most important periodontopathic bacteria, Actinomyces Viscosus T14V, was investigated. Human PBL, together with Av-sup, were cocultured without or with anti-IL-2 and IL-6 monoclonal antibodies for 6 days, and cultural supernatants were harvested every 12 hours for measuring IgG, IgM, IL-2 and IL-6 activity. The results showed that (1) Av-sup was able to activate human peripheral B lymphocytes polyclonally and induce them to synthesize immunoglobulins; (2) Av-sup could also induce human PBL to produce IL-2 and IL-6 , but peaks of activity of both IL-2 and IL-6 appeared earlier than those of IgG and IgM; (3) anti-IL-2 and anti-IL-6 monoclonal antibodies could obviously depress the production of IgG and IgM, respectively, and furthermore, combined application of these two monoclonal antibodies could almost completely block the synthesis of IgG and IgM. First-principles study of the electronic structure of a superstoichiometric rare earth dihydride GdH2.25

We performed ab initio calculations of electronic structure and equilibrium properties for the rare earth superstoichiometric dihydride GdH2.25 （with the space group Pm-3m （No. 221）） using the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method （FP-LAPW） approach within the density functional theory （DFT） in the generalized gradient approximation （GGA） and local density approximation （LDA） as implemented in the WIEN2k simulation code at 0 K. The equilibrium properties were determined, the density of states, electronic density and the energy band structures were studied in details. It was concluded that the GGA optimized lattice parameter agreed much better with the experimental findings than the LDA one, The non negligible electronic density of states at the Fermi level confirmed that the GdH2.25 had a metallic character. The Fermi energy EF fell at a level where most of the states were rare-earth 5d-eg conduction states while negligible contributions of both interstitial （tetrahedral and octahedral） H s-states were observed near EF, From electronic density, the bonding between Gd and tetrahedral H atoms was of prominent covalency, while was ionic between Gd and octahedral H atoms.

Chromosomal aberrations and nucleic acids systems affected by some Egyptian medicinal plants used in treating female pregnant diabetic rats

The influences of medicinal plants Juniperus Phoenicea (Araar), Hyphaene thebaica (Doum), An-astatica hierochuntica (Kafta) and Cleome droserifolia (Sammo) as antidiabetic agents were investigated using female pregnant albino rats. Female rats were injected with 60 mg/kg b.w. alloxan to induce diabe-tes. Diabetic rats treated orally with the methanol extracts of tested plants till the 19 day of gestation. The present studies include the frequencies of chro-mosomal aberrations and nucleic acid system of liver in the female pregnant rats and their embryos. The results showed that injection of alloxan caused highly significant increase in chromosomal aberrations as well as in blood glucose levels as a result of diabetes in pregnant females. It also caused a high incidence of chromosomal deviation in embryos and decreased the liver soluble protein contents of female rats and their embryos. These effects in alloxanized animals were treated and improved by ingestion of the methanol extracts of the tested plants (Araar, Doum, Kafta and Somma) in which under their treatments, the inceased level of blood glu-cose of diabetic rats was deceased. Ingestion with the plants methanolic extracts improved and normalized the effects of diabetes in nucleic acids values of liver tissues. These were accompanied with nucleases (RNAase and DNAase) activities. The inhibited ac-tivities of both DNA ase and RNA ase of pregnant rats and their embryos were stimulated and read-justed around the normal values. Also administration of the plants methanol extracts decreased the per-centage of chromosomal aberrations in the female rats and embryos. It is concluded that there are some biochemical dynamics which might occur in the metabo-lism of glucose, nucleic acids and proteins in order to prevent or to reduce the oxidative stress of diabetes by flavonoides treatment.

Background The provision of environmental enrichments to Muscovy ducks could reduce the expression of the aggressive *** aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of black soldier fly(BSF)and yellow mealworm(YM)live larva provision on Muscovy duck performance,excreta corticosterone metabolites(ECM),behavior,and blood *** A total of 1263-day-old female Muscovy ducklings were allotted to 18 pens(6 replicates/treatment,7 birds/pen)and assigned to 3 experimental treatments:a control group fed commercial feed,and two experimental treatments fed commercial feed plus the 5%(based on the expected daily feed intake,as fed basis)of BSF and YM live larvae(BSF and YM groups,respectively).A two-phase feeding program was applied:starter(from 3 to 31 days of age)and grower-finisher(from 32 to 55 days of age).The live weight,average daily gain,average daily feed intake,and feed conversion ratio were *** consumption times were collected,and video recordings were performed during 3 periods(P)each day:the hour before(P1),during(P2),and after(P3)the larva *** were evaluated at 3,31,and ***,the total red and white blood cell counts,serum proteins,lipids,and liver and renal function serum enzymes were evaluated on 12 birds/*** The experimental treatment did not affect the growth performance of the birds(P>0.05).Larva consumption times were always similar between the two insect species,except at 14–18 days of age,were BSF larvae were consumed faster than YM larvae(PP3;P<0.05).Finally,the provision of live BSF and YM larvae significantly reduced the ECM at 55 days of age and the heterophil to lymphocyte ratio(P<0.05).Conclusions Live BSF and YM larva supplementatio

The work deals with numerical modelling of turbulent flows in channels with an expansion of the cross-section where flow separation and reattachment occur. The performance of several eddy viscosity models and an explicit algebraic Reynolds stress model (EARSM) is studied. The used test cases are flows in channels with various backward fac.ng steps where the step is perpendicular or inclined and the top wall is parallel or deflected. Furthermore, a channel with the circular ramp is considered. The numerical solution is achieved by the finite volume method or by the finite element method. The results of both numerical approaches are compared.

＜正＞ This study investigates whether endogenous male sex hormones affect the participation of thromboxane （TXA2） in the acetylcholine （Ach）-induced response in rat aorta. For this purpose, aorta from control and orchidectomized male Sprague Dawley rats were used to analyze: （1） vascular response to Ach;（2） vascular response to the TXA2 mimetic U-46619 and, （3） the basal and Ach stimulated production of TXB2, the stable TXA2 metabolite. The Ach-induced relaxation was unaltered by the TXA2 synthesis inhibitor, furegrelate, in arteries from control rats while was increased in aortas from orchidectomized rats. In intact vessels, the concentration dependent contraction induced by U-46619 was similar in arteries from both rat groups. The basal and Ach-stimulated TXB2 release was increased in arteries from orchidectomized animals. These results show that TXA2 production is increased in aortas from orchidectomized rats compared to their controls, and that this prostanoid is functionally involved in the vasodilator response to Ach only in arteries from orchidectomized rats.
