The shiny cowbird Molothrus bonariensis parasitizes many species with different life-history traits and has a detrimental effect on the survival of the progeny of the *** response,hosts have developed numerous antiparasitic ***,we examined the effects of brood parasitism by shiny cowbird on the clutch and brood sizes(83 nests)in a small host,the black-backed water tyrant Fluvicola *** also studied whether the death of parasite nestlings was related to the care of the foster parents and whether the host had any antiparasitic defense against the shiny *** results indicate that brood parasitism significantly decreased the host hatching and fledging *** majority of nest failures(57%)were caused by brood *** cowbird parasitism occurred in 52%of nests and the intensity of parasitism was 1.23±0.53 eggs per parasitized *** the total host eggs,54%were *** the incubation stage,20 nests(47%)were abandoned because of egg punctures by shiny cowbirds *** two parasitic fledglings were recorded,while the remaining nestlings either died from starvation(n=12)or predation(n=3).Foster parents abandoned parasitic nestlings between 5 and 10 days *** findings demonstrate that the shiny cowbird has very low rates of fledging success when parasitizing black-backed water ***,parasitism had a high reproductive cost in the black-backed water tyrant because a very low proportion(7%)of the parasitized nests(n=43)were successful.

The precise synthesis of subporphyrinoid hybrids withπ-expanded topologies and unique material properties plays a promising role in the design of functional ***,selective,and controllable routes to boron subphthalocyanine−subnaphthalocyanine hybrids,Bsub(Pc_(3‑p)-Nc_(p))s,are desirable for this purpose yet synthetically challenging due to random mixtures of C_(s-),C_(3v-),and,in some cases,C_(1)-symmetric compounds that form during traditional statistical mixed ***,we addressed this issue by developing a sterically driven mixed cyclotrimerization with enhanced selectivity for the targeted C_(s)-symmetric hybrid and complete suppression of sterically crowded macrocyclic *** process,coupled with a rationally designed precursor bearing bulky phenyl substituents,enabled the synthesis and characterization of bay-position phenylated Ph_(2)-(R_(p))_(8)Bsub(Pc_(2)-Nc_(1))hybrids with halogens(rp=Cl or F)in their peripheral isoindole *** selectivity ranged between 59 and 72%with remarkable yields,significantly higher than that of conventional mixed *** findings were augmented by theoretical calculations on precursor Lewis basicity as guiding principles into hybrid macrocycle ***,the incorporation of unfused phenyl groups and halogen atoms into the hybrid framework resulted in fine-tuned optical,structural,electronic,and electrochemical *** straightforward approach achieved improved selectivity and controlled narrowing of the product distribution,affording the efficient synthesis of structurally sophisticated Bsub(Pc_(2)-Nc_(1))*** then expands the library of 3-dimensionalπ-extended macrocycles for use in a range of applications,such as in optoelectronic devices with precisely tailored optical properties.

Objective:Glioblastomas are highly vascularized malignant *** determined the efficacy and safety of the anti-angiogenic multi-kinase inhibitor,anlotinib,for a newly diagnosed ***:This multicenter,single-arm trial(NCT04119674)enrolled 33 treatment-naïve patients with histologically proven glioblastomas between March 2019 and November *** underwent treatment with the standard sTUPP regimen[fractionated focal irradiation in daily fractions of 1.8-2 Gy given 5 d/w×6 w(total=54-60 Gy)]or radiotherapy plus continuous daily temozolomide(TMZ)(75 mg/m^(2)of body surface area/d,7 d/w from the first to the last day of radiotherapy),followed by 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ(150-200 mg/m^(2)×5 d during each 28-d cycle)plus anlotinib(8 mg/d on d 1-14 of each 3-w cycle for 2 cycles during concomitant chemoradiotherapy,8 maximal cycles as adjuvant therapy,followed by maintenance at 8 mg/*** primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFs).secondary endpoints included overall survival(Os)and adverse events.a.s).Results:Thirty-three patients received the planned *** median PFs was 10.9 months(95%CI,9.9-18.7 months)and the 12-month PFs rate was 48.5%.The median Os was 17.4 months(95%CI,14.5-21.1 months)and the 12-month Os rate was 81.8%.The most common AEs included hypertriglyceridemia[58%(n=19)],hypoalbuminemia[46%(n=15)],and hypercholesterolemia[46%(n=15)]during concurrent chemoradiotherapy and leukopenia[73%(n=24)],hypertriglyceridemia[67%(n=22)],and neutropenia[52%(n=17)]during adjuvant *** patients discontinued treatment due to ***1(HR,5.6;95%CI,1.3-23.7;P=0.021)and rp1L1 alterations(HR,11.1;95%CI,2.2-57.2;P=0.004)were associated with a significantly shorter ***:Anlotinib plus the sTUPP regimen has promising anti-tumor activity against glioblastoma and manageable ***1 and rp1L1 alterations might be novel predictive biomarkers of the response to anlotinib.

An Experimental Description of the Flow in a Centrifugal Compressor from Alternate stall to surge

The present paper gives the experimental results obtained in a centrifugal compressor stage designed and built by sAFRAN Helicopter Engines. The compressor is composed of inlet guide vanes, a backswept splittered unshrouded impeller, a splittered vaned radial diffuser and axial outlet guide vanes. Previous numerical simulations revealed a particular s-shape pressure rise characteristic at partial rotation speed and predicted an alternate flow pattern in the vaned radial diffuser at low mass flow rate. This alternate flow pattern involves two adjacent vane passages. One passage exhibits very low momentum and a low pressure recovery, whereas the adjacent passage has very high momentum in the passage inlet and diffuses efficiently. Experimental measurements confirm the s-shape of the pressure rise characteristic even if the stability limit experimentally occurs at higher mass flow than numerically predicted. At low mass flow the alternate stall pattern is confirmed thanks to the data obtained by high-frequency pressure sensors. As the compressor is throttled the path to instability has been registered and a first scenario of the surge inception is given. The compressor first experiences.a.steady alternate stall in the diffuser. As the mass flow decreases, the alternate stall amplifies and triggers the mild surge in the vaned diffuser. An unsteady behavior results from the interaction of the alternate stall and the mild surge. Finally, when the pressure gradient becomes too strong, the alternate stall blows away and the compressor enters into deep surge.

Twisted and Absolute Degrees of Maps into the Projective Plane

For each based map f : X → rp2from a closed surface into the real projective plane, we compute its.a.solute and twisted degrees and describe the action of the fundamental group of rp2over the based homotopy class of f. We emphasize the finding that for any nonorientable closed surface,there exists only one based homotopy class of maps from it into rp2whose maps have twisted degree zero and absolute degree nonzero – which shows that, unlike the absolute degree, the twisted degree is not able to detect the strong surjectivity in this setting. In all the other scenarios, the absolute degree of each map is either equal to the twisted degree or its.a.solute value – and so the twisted degree detects strong surjectivity.

Background Deep convolutional neural networks have garnered considerable attention in numerous machine learning applications,particularly in visual recognition tasks such as image and video *** is a growing interest in applying this technology to diverse applications in medical image *** three dimensional Breast Ultrasound is a vital tool for detecting breast cancer,and computer-assisted diagnosis software,developed based on deep learning,can effectively assist radiologists in ***,the network model is prone to overfitting during training,owing to challenges such as insufficient training *** study attempts to solve the problem caused by small datasets and improve model detection *** We propose a breast cancer detection framework based on deep learning(a transfer learning method based on cross-organ cancer detection)and a contrastive learning method based on breast imaging reporting and data systems(BI-RADs).Results When using cross organ transfer learning and BIRADs based contrastive learning,the average sensitivity of the model increased by a maximum of 16.05%.Conclusion Our experiments have demonstrated that the parameters and experiences of cross-organ cancer detection can be mutually referenced,and contrastive learning method based on BI-RADs can improve the detection performance of the model.

A novel NIRs modelling method with OPLs-sPA and MIX-PLs for timber evaluation

The identification of timber properties is important for safe *** Infrared spectroscopy(NIRs)technology is widely-used because of its simplicity,efficiency,and positive environmental ***,in its application,weak signals are extracted from complex,overlapping and changing *** study focused on the stability of NIR *** Orthogonal Partial Least squares(OPLs)and successive Projections Algorithm(sPA)eliminates noise and extracts effective spectra,and an ensemble learning method MIX-PLs,is applied to establish the *** elastic modulus of timber is taken as an example,and 201 wood samples of three species,Xylosmacongesta(Lour.)Merr.,Acer pictum ***,and Betula pendula,samples were divided into three groups to investigate modelling *** results show that OPLs can preprocess the near-infrared spectroscopy information according to the target object in the face of the system error and reduce errors to *** finally selects 13 spectral bands,simplifies the NIR spectral data and improves model *** Pearson's correlation coefficient of Calibration(Rc)and the Pearson's correlation coefficient of Prediction(rp)of Mix Partial Least squares(MIX-PLs)were 0.95 and 0.90,and Root Mean square Error of Calibration(RMsEC)and Root Mean square Error of Prediction(RMsEP)are 2.075 and 6.001,respectively,which shows the model has good generalization abilities.
