Seed germination (in laboratory and field conditions) and vegetative reproduction (by cuttings) of a promising decorative species—Lonicera tatarica L. (Caprifoliaceae Juss.) was studied for the first time in the conditions of introduction of the Tashkent Botanical Garden of Uzbekistan. Thus, the optimal temperature for germination of L. tatarica seeds in laboratory conditions is +20°C + 22°C, at which germination was 73%. The germination rate of seeds sown in autumn in the field was 62%, and the germination rate of seeds sown in spring was 71%. It was noted that in greenhouse conditions at an air temperature of 20°C - 22°C and a relative humidity of 49% - 53%, the rootability of cuttings was 75%. It was revealed that the studied species adapted well to the conditions of introduction. Taking into account the effectiveness of vegetative reproduction of L. tatarica, it can be recommended for improving the aesthetic condition and landscaping of cities, landscaping and landscape design.

Amorphous alloys with a composition(at.%)fe_(48)Cr_(15)Mo_(14)C_(15)B_(6)Y_(2) were prepared by using either pure elements(alloy B1)or a commercial AISI430 steel as a base material(B2).When prepared from pure elements,alloy(B1)could be cast in plate form with a fixed thickness of 2 mm and variable lengths between 10 and 20 mm by means of copper-mold injection in an air *** the case of alloy B2,prepared by using commercial grade raw materials,rods of 2 mm diameter are ***(B1 and B2)of width 5 mm and thickness about 30μm are prepared from the arc-melted ingots using a single roller melt spinner at a wheel speed of 40 m/*** thermal and structural properties of the samples are measured by a combination of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),x-ray diffraction and scanning electron *** compositions are checked by energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis.X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy observations confirm that an amorphous structure is obtained in all the samples.A minor fraction of crystalline phases(oxides and carbides)is detected on the as-cast *** of hardness and Young modulus were measured by nanoindentation for both the *** effects of adverse casting conditions(such as air atmosphere,non-conventional injection copper mold casting and the partial replacement of pure elements with commercial grade raw materials)on the glass formation and properties of the alloy are discussed.

This investigation is an analysis of the influence of landform instability on the distribution of land-use dynamics in a hydrographical basin, located in the Mexican Volcanic Belt mountain range (central Mexico), currently affected by substantial changes in land use and deforestation. A landform map was produced, in addition to seven attribute maps - altimetry, drainage density, slope, relief energy, potential erosion, geology and tectonics - which were considered as factors for determining landform instability through Multi-criteria Evaluation Analysis. Likewise, the direction and rhythm of land-use dynamics were analyzed in four dates - between 1976 and 2000 - and cross tabulations were made between them, in order to analyze the trends and processes of land-use dynamics. Afterwards, the databases obtained were cross tabulated with the landform variables to derive areas, percentages and correlation indices. In the study area, high-instability landforms are associated with most ancient volcanic and sedimentary landforms, where high altitude, drainage density, slope and potential to develop gravitational and fluvial processes are the major factors favouring a land-use pattern, dominated by the conservation of extensive forest land, abandonment of human land use and regeneration of disturbed areas. In contrast, low-instability landforms correspond to alluvial plains and lava hills covered by pyroclasts, where low potential erosion to develop fluvial processes, added to water and soil availability and accessibility, have favoured a land-use pattern dominated by the expansion of agroforestry plantations and human settlements, showing a marked trend towards either intensification or permanence of the current land use and with little abandonment and regeneration.

Using Lindblad approach to study decoherence of quantum systems, we study the decoherence and decay of entangled states, formed by two basic states of a chain of thee qubits. We look on these states for a possible regular dependence on their decay as a function of their energy separation between the basic states under different types of environments. We didn’t find regular or significant dependence on this energy separation for the type of environment considered.

Slope length and slope steepness are critical topographic factors(L and S)in the Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE)and Chinese Soil Loss Equation(CSLE)for soil erosion *** slope length and slope gradient are potentially sensitive to spatial resolution when calculated in a GIS *** resolution effect on the LS factor and approaches suitable for improving the LS factor at a coarse resolution have not been well *** address this problem,the LS factor at 5-m and 30-m resolution in twenty-four watersheds with various terrains was *** a downscale model based on matching of the lower resolution LS cumulative frequency curves to a higher resolution("Histogram Matching"method)was tested for its potential to improve LS factor estimation *** the larger relief mountainous area,compared to 5-m resolution,the 30-m resolution generated LS was generally overestimated by more than 20%and in lower relief areas underestimated by more than 15%.This bias is less than 10%in medium relief *** downscale model improved LS factor estimates compared to the 30-m resolution estimate by more than 10%when comparing frequency distribution curves and more than 20%in mean values in larger relief *** downscale model worked well in all regions except for the low relief areas,which intuitively are the low soil erosion potential *** results of this research help quantify the uncertainty in soil erosion estimates and may ultimately help to improve the assessment of soil erosion through its impact on LS factor estimates,especially at regional and global scales.

Although Vibrio parahaemolyticus has become the most common pathogen in fresh and frozen seafood,its virulence changes have often been ignored during the processing of *** investigate these potential risks,we used frozen Penaeus chinensis as examples,and the most virulent factors of ***,including amounts,viable but nonculturable(VBNC)status,toxins TDH and TRH,and virulence genes tdh and trh,were *** quantities were signifi cantly reduced during drain and sprinkling phases,but caused by different *** SYTO9 and PI staining showed that washing was the main reason for the bacterial reduction at the drain phase,while the strain entering VBNC state was another reason at sprinkling *** hemolysis toxicity,produced by TDH and TRH,became stronger after inoculation on shrimp,and could be detected throughout the ***,tdh and trh also exhibited trends similar to that of the hemolysis toxicity *** was almost to a two-fold expression level during ice-glazing phase,while trh only express at a low level,less than half of the expression level before *** results demonstrated that the strains were not dead during freezing process,but became VBNC cells,which still produced and accumulated toxins,especially TDH,the most virulent factor.

Ectopic expression of AANAT or HIOMT improves melatonin production and enhances UV-B tolerance in transgenic apple plants

Melatonin is involved in plant responses to various environmental *** many studies have demonstrated that the tolerance of plants to stress is improved by exogenous melatonin,the role of endogenous melatonin metabolism in the response of apples to UV-B stress remains ***,the human melatonin biosynthesis-related enzyme genes AANAT or HIOMT were transformed into‘GL-3'apple,and the transgenic lines were treated with UV-B *** ectopic expression of AANAT or HIOMT significantly increased the melatonin content in *** UV-B stress,the tolerance of apple lines with ectopic expression of AANAT or HIOMT was markedly *** decrease in chlorophyll fluorescence,the generation of reactive oxygen species and the shrinkage of stomata caused by UV-B stress were alleviated by AANAT or HIOMT ectopic *** addition,the total phenolic content was markedly increased in the transgenic lines compared with the WT(wild type).The increase in phenolic compounds was related to the increase in benzoic acid,hydroxycinnamic acid,dihydrochalcones and flavanols,among which increases in chlorogenic acid,phloridzin and procyanidin B1 content were most ***,the transgenic lines did not only promote the expression of genes related to phenolic synthesis under UV-B stress,but they also increased the accumulation of phenolic compounds by inhibiting the expression of MdPPO and MdPOD related to phenolic *** summary,our results demonstrate that AANAT-or HIOMT-mediated melatonin synthesis improved the tolerance of apples to UV-B stress,mainly by scavenging reactive oxygen species,increasing photosynthetic capacity and increasing total phenolic content.
