The recycling of wet strength papers in a normal recycling mill is often troublesome due to the severe operating conditions required to defibre wet strength papers. The various methods are presented which will quickly allow mills to determine the most effective pulping aids to use when repulping wet strength papers. The repulping of wet strength paper with inorganic chemicals was investigated in the laboratory. The effects of major variables, that is, repulping time, pulp consistency, soaking time, temperature, and reactant concentration in the repulping stage were examined using Plackett-Burman design. The repulping time was the most crucial & influential process variable affecting repulping characteristic and formation related properties. The more significant repulping process variables affecting pulp yield were repulping time, soaking temperature and pulp consistency whereas for formation index and feature size, repulping time, pulp consistency, soaking temperature and time were the more important variables. The formation index is increased by an increase in repulping time, pulp consistency and soaking time whereas the feature size is decreased by an increase in repulping time, soaking temperature and pulp consistency. The formation index and the rejects were more sensitive to changes in process variables than were the feature size or the pulp yield. The pulp recycled from wet strength waste paper had good physical strength properties.

New Genus and Species of Diatom Endemic in Lake Rani of Haryana, India

Diatoms are unicellular plant algae which are found in almost all the waterbodies. Different diatoms respond differently to different environmental changes, there existence depending on the environmental factor of a particular place. A new diatom type was discovered in the lake Rani of Jind District of Haryana for the first time. Jind is an important district lying in the north of Haryana state located 75。53' and 76。47' East longitudes and between 29。03’ and 29。51’ North latitudes. It has a beautiful lake named as Rani Talab (Lake) which is famous for tourist visit and is located in the centre of the city. The pH of this water body ranges between 6.5 to 8.3, conductivity between 0.21 to 0.294 m?mho?cm-1 with temperature ranging between 19.5℃ to 35℃ for two consecutive years 2008-2009 and 2009 - 2010. The newly discovered diatom is the only diatom which inhabits one particular Lake Rani of Haryana, it is not found elsewhere in India and any other database of diatoms generated so far in any other part of the world. The new genus was discovered by Vinayak V. et al in the process of creation of diatom database from Haryana State of India for the first time. The new genus was named as Eunocymbellarania vandana for its genus name derived from Eunotia and Cymbella and its close affinity to these two diatoms and its origin place ‘Lake Rani’, but the species name ‘vandana ‘ is from Diatomist

It is a common practice to apply a tack coat usually in the form of bituminous emulsion over an existing bituminous surface before laying another bituminous *** boundary between these two consecutive bituminous layers is the layer interface and the pavement stress distribution is highly influenced by the adhesion conditions at this *** adhesion causes adverse effects on the structural strength of the pavement system.A number of premature failures such as slippage failure and delamination failures result thus defeating the construction *** the absence of a standard method and apparatus to address this field problem,an attempt has been made in this study to develop a simple testing arrangement to be used in a laboratory to determine the interlayer bond *** Marshall procedure has been used to prepare the specimens consisting of two different types of bituminous materials in lower and upper part of the same *** is observed within the scope of study that Cationic rapid setting(CRS-1)emulsion applied at 0.25 Kg/m^(2) offers the best results of interlayer bond strength.

In this report,a patient had a previous diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma with an extended cholecystectomy. Three years later,he was evaluated for recurrent ascites. The patient had several large volume paracentesis, without evidence of malignant ***, endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)with fine needle aspiration (FNA)of both lymph and omental nodules was *** the lymph nodes were negative for malignancy, the omental nodule was interrogated with multiple antibodies and was found to be positive for neoplasia. EUS with FNA can safely be used in patients with cirrhosis to spare the patient invasive evaluation such as exploratory laparotomy(ex-lap)for diagnosis and staging of cholangiocarcinoma.

This study reports on the application of the Memotherm nitinol self- expanding endovascularstent in the treatment of aorto-iliac occlusive vascular *** it was released on the UK market inMarch 1994,the author has deployed 107 stents during 72 patient procedures,treating a total of 77 le-sions in 71 different *** lesions consisted of 21 total occlusions and 56 *** indicationfor stenting was primary in 83% of the lesions and seconday to unsatisfactory PTA in the *** procedure success,defined as suceessful stent delivery combined with satisfactory arterial pa-tency,was achieved in 97%(n=75)of the *** difficulties during deployment were ex-perienced with 3 stents(examination.A/B pressure ratios andpatient *** improvement in patient symptolns was recorded in 96% of the *** on these results and on additional personal experience of 125 stents of alternative design,the authorconcludes that the Memotherm nitinol stent represents a significant technical advance in stent design,facilitating the successful management of more complex and extensive aorto-iliac pathology.
