Efficacy and safety of ivermectin in patients with mild and moderate COVID-19:A randomized controlled trial

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ivermectin in patients with mild and moderate ***:This study was a single-center,randomized,open-label,controlled trial with a 2-arm parallel-group design on 68 patients with *** to the 1:1 ratio between the study groups(ivermectin group and standard treatment group),patients were randomly admitted to each intervention ***:The mean age of the participants in the ivermectin group was(48.37±13.32)*** of them were males(54.5%)and the participants in the control group had a mean age of(46.28±14.47)years,with nineteen of them being males(59.4%).As a primary outcome,after 5 days of randomization,there was no significant difference between the ivermectin group and the control group in the length of stay in the hospital(P=0.168).ICU admission(P=0.764),length of stay in ICU(P=0.622),in-hospital mortality(P=0.427),adverse drug reactions,and changes in the mean difference of laboratory data had not any significant difference between the two groups(except for urea change).In addition,the radiologic findings of the two groups of patients were not significantly *** regression analysis showed that for every 10 years increase of age,0.6 day of hospitalization duration was *** was no statistically significant association between other variables and clinical ***:Among adult hospitalized patients with moderate to severe COVID-19,there was no significant relationship between the administration of ivermectin single dose in a five-day course and clinical improvement,and mortality of the participants.

Acupoint injection for asthma:Systematic review of randomized controlled trials

Comparison between Xingnaojing Injection(醒脑静注射液)and Naloxone in Treatment of Acute Alcohol Intoxication:An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Endoscopic thyroidectomy： an evidence-based research on feasibility, safety and clinical effectiveness

Background The feasibility and safety of endoscopic thyroidectomy were evaluated by an approach of systematic review of published studies in the past decade.Methods A database searching was performed on MEDLINE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, American College of Physicians Journal Club, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials. Both comparative and non-comparative studies about endoscopic thyroidectomy were selected and analyzed. For the comparative studies, RevMan 4.2 was used for statistical analysis; and for the non-comparative studies, data analysis was performed by SPSS 13.0.Results Seven comparative studies involving 367 patients （video-assisted thyroidectomy （VAT）, 174 patients; conventional thyroidectomy （CT）, 193 patients） were included in VAT-CT group. Age, gender, operative types, and pathological diagnosis were similar. Compared with CT, the mean operative time for VAT was significantly longer （VAT, 80.0 minutes; CT, 61.9 minutes, P 〈0.01）, but the postoperative hospital stay was shorter （VAT, 1.7 days; CT, 2.5 days, P 〈0.01）. The complication rate for VAT was 6.9%, while that for CT was 9.3% （P=0.35）. Three studies analyzed the postoperative pain and cosmetic evaluation, and indicated that the VAT group was superior to the CT group, but there was no significant difference after a meta-analysis. Three comparative studies involving 273 patients （totally endoscopic thyroidectomy （TET）, 145 patients; CT, 128 patients） were included in TET-CT group and the results generally resembled that of VAT-CT group. There were 18 and 14 non-comparative studies reporting the results of VAT and TET, respectively. The mean operative time for VAT was 76.8 minutes compared with 135.8 minutes for TET. The postoperative hospital stay was 1.8 and 3.8 days for VAT and TET respectively. The rates of conversion to open surgery for VAT and TET were similar （VAT, 2.8%; TET, 3.9%, P=0.105）. Can Ashi Points Stimulation Have Specific Effects on Shoulder Pain? A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials

Objective： To provide an evidence-based overview regarding the efficacy of Ashi points stimulation for the treatment of shoulder pain. Methods： A comprehensive search [PubMed, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）, Chongqing Weipu Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals （VIP） and Wanfang Database] was conducted to identify randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials that evaluated the effectiveness of Ashi points stimulation for shoulder pain compared with conventional treatment. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. RevMan 5.0 was used for data synthesis. Results： Nine trials were included. Seven studies assessed the effectiveness of Ashi points stimulation on response rate compared with conventional acupuncture. Their results suggested significant effect in favour of Ashi points stimulation [odds ratio （OR）： 5.89, 95% confidence interval （CI）： 2.97 to 11.67, P〈0.01, heterogeneity： x 2=3.81, P=0.70, 12=0% ]. One trial compared Ashi points stimulation with drug therapy. The result showed there was a significantly greater recovery rate in group of Ashi points stimulation （OR： 9.58, 95% CI： 2.69 to 34.12）. One trial compared comprehensive treatment on the myofascial trigger points （MTrPs） with no treatment and the result was in favor of MTrPs. Conclusions： Ashi points stimulation might be superior to conventional acupuncture, drug therapy and no treatment for shoulder pain. However, due to the low methodological quality of included studies, a firm conclusion could not be reached until further studies of high quality are available.

This study aimed to develop a guideline for therapeutic drug monitoring（TDM） of vancomycin. We adopted the new guideline definition from the Institute of medicine（IOM）, adhered closely to the six domains of the Appraisal of Guidelines for research ＆ Evaluation Ⅱ（AGREE Ⅱ）, and made recommendations based on systematic reviews. We established a Guideline Steering group and a Guideline Development group, formulated 12 questions in the form of Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome（PICO） and completed a literature search. As far as we know, we will develop the first evidenced-based guideline for vancomycin TDM under the framework of the Grade of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation（GRADE）.
