The fast development of biomaterials science and engineering has generated significant number of studies and publications as well as tremendous amount of research data.A methodology is needed to translate such research data and results to validated scientific *** article for the first time proposes the concept and methodology of evidence-based biomaterials research,which is to use evidence-based research approach represented by systematic reviews to generate evidence for answering scientific questions related to *** briefly introducing the advancement of biomaterials since 1950s,the scientific and engineering nature of biomaterials are discussed along with the roadmap of biomaterials translation from basic research to commercialized medical products,and the needs of scientific *** information of the evidence-based approach such as its origination from evidence-based medicine,levels of evidence,systematic review and meta-analysis,differences between systematic and narrative reviews is then *** with a step-by-step procedure of conducting evidence-based biomaterials research,three examples of biomaterials research using evidence-based approach to generate scientific evidence,and opportunities and challenges of evidence-based biomaterials research are *** its notable impact on the practice of medicine,the evidence-based approach is also expected to make influential contributions to the biomaterials field.

OBJECTIVE: To conduct a Meta-analysis of studies on the effect of Aidi injectioncombined with chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in the treatment of gastric cancer(GC).METHODS: Nine electronic databases and six gray literature databases were comprehensively searcheduntil April 20,2013. Two reviewers independently selected and assessed included trialsaccording to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The risk of bias tool from the Cochrane Handbook version 5.1.0was used to assess trial quality. All calculations were performed using Review Manager ***: Thirty-two studies including 1927 participants met the inclusion criteria,most of which were low quality. Compared with chemotherapy alone,Aidi injection plusthe same chemotherapy significantly improved the effective rate [OR = 1.52,95% CI(1.24,1.86),P < 0.0001],clinical beneficial rate [OR = 1.77,95% CI(1.33,2.36),P < 0.0001],and quality of life [OR = 3.02,95% CI(2.39,3.82),P <0.000 01]. There was a significant improvement in nausea and vomiting incidence [OR = 0.34,95%CI(0.24,0.47),P < 0.000 01],diarrhea [OR = 0.47,95%CI(0.33,0.69),P < 0.000 01],leukopenia( 3,0.51),P = 0.05],hemⅢ-ogⅣ)[OR = 0.34,95%CI(0.2lobin decrease(thromⅢ-boⅣ) [OR = 0.42,95%CI(0.18-1.00),P = 0.05],cytopenia(4],and Ⅲ-damⅣ) [OR = 0.46,95%CI(0.22,0.96),P = 0.0age to liver function [OR = 0.36,95%CI(0.24,0.54),P < 0.000 01].CONCLUSION: Aidi injection combined with chemotherapy significantly improved the clinical effect of chemotherapy,reducing the incidence of adverse events. Use of the CONSORT statement for randomized controlled trials is recommended for stricter reporting.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Tuomin Zhiti decoction (TZD) in the short-term treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR). Methods: This study is a randomized， double-blind placebo-controlled， and single-center clinical trial. In April 2021， during the spring pollen season in Beijing， 94 SAR patients aged 19-60 years were randomized (1:1 ratio) to receive two weeks of TZD or placebo. The primary outcome was the change of Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) and Total Ocular Symptom Score (TOSS) from baseline to the end of treatment. Secondary outcomes were the changed score of the mini Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (RQLQ)， Rescue Medication Score (RMS)， and Patient Global Impression of Change (PGIC). All adverse events were recorded and evaluated by two senior physicians. Results: TZD significantly reduced both the total nasal symptom scores and total ocular symptom scores compared to scores at baseline， while the placebo group showed an increasing trajectory in both symptom scores. Compared to the placebo group， the TZD group also showed a greater improvement in the quality of life， scores of RMS， nasal and eye symptoms scores after TZD treatment (P < 0.001). Most notably， at the end of treatment， the proportion of remission measured by PGIC was significantly higher in the TZD group (82.97%) compared with the placebo group (47.72%， P < 0.001). Conclusion: This study suggested that two weeks of TZD is an effective and safe treatment for SAR patients and spring pollen allergy， TZD could significantly improve the nasal and eye symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients.

Surveillance recommendations for gastric cancer（GC） in current guidelines focused on advanced precancerous lesions and were based on precise diagnosis of severity/extent of baseline lesions. We aimed to develop a less endoscopy-related equipment-dependent risk-stratification tool, and assessed whether mild-precursor-lesion patients can be safely exempt from surveillance. In the multicenter communitybased cohort, 75,051 participants receiving baseline endoscopy were enrolled during 2015–2017 and followed-up until 2021. Cumulative incidence rates（CIRs） of GC for precancerous-conditions were calculated by Kaplan-Meier method and compared by Log-rank tests. Mixedeffects Cox regression models were used to detect potential factors for progression towards GC. A risk score was calculated as counts of selected factors. An independent cohort, including 26,586 participants was used for external validation. During a median follow-up of 6.25 years, CIRs of GC were 0.302%, 0.436%, and 4.756% for normal group, non-neoplastic（atrophic gastritis/intestinal metaplasia） and neoplastic lesions（low-grade/high-grade dysplasia）, respectively(Ptrendevidence on supplementing current guideline recommendations.

The pervasive issue of chromium（VI） contamination,particularly in dichromate (Cr2O2-7),resulting from unchecked industrial growth and inadequate waste management,remains a pressing concern that demands immediate and dedicated ***,we present two novel imidazolium-based ionic polymers （ImIPs）.The ImIPs boast a highly cationic structure rich in bromide（Br-） ions and exhibit remarkable porosity,facilitating the easy exchange of these ions for chromate (Cr2O2-7) through anion *** unique combination leads to exceptional performance,including a high adsorption capacity （423 mg/g）,rapid adsorption rate (75 mg g-1min-1),and a broad operational pH range （2–12）.Moreover,our material demonstrates remarkable reusability,maintaining its efficacy even after 10 cycles without significant loss of *** mechanistic studies underscore the role of ion-exchange chemistry in effectively removing dichromate by the presented ImIPs,providing strong evidence for their suitability as a robust solution to address the ongoing challenges in water *** findings represent a crucial step in developing advanced materials for tackling chromium（VI） pollution.

Natural medicines(NMs)are crucial for treating human *** characterizing their bioactive components in vivo has been a key focus and challenge in NM ***-performance liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry(HPLC-HRMS)systems offer high sensitivity,resolution,and precision for conducting in vivo analysis of ***,due to the complexity of NMs,conventional data acquisition,mining,and processing techniques often fail to meet the practical needs of in vivo NM *** the past two decades,intelligent spectral data-processing techniques based on various principles and algorithms have been developed and applied for in vivo NM ***,improvements have been achieved in the overall analytical performance by relying on these techniques without the need to change the instrument *** improvements include enhanced instrument analysis sensitivity,expanded compound analysis coverage,intelligent identification,and characterization of nontargeted in vivo compounds,providing powerful technical means for studying the in vivo metabolism of NMs and screening for pharmacologically active *** review summarizes the research progress on in vivo analysis strategies for NMs using intelligent MS data processing techniques reported over the past two *** discusses differences in compound structures,variations among biological samples,and the application of artificial intelligence(AI)neural network ***,the review offers insights into the potential of in vivo tracking of NMs,including the screening of bioactive components and the identification of pharmacokinetic *** aim is to provide a reference for the integration and development of new technologies and strategies for future in vivo analysis of NMs.
