Thermal-flow-electric coupling performance analysis of a liquid-immersed battery thermal management system

Ensuring the safety and performance of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) is a significant challenge for electric *** tackle this issue, an innovative liquid-immersed battery thermal management system(LIBTMS) using bionic baffles with fish-like perforations is developed. The thermal-flow-electric coupling characteristics of LIBTMSs with different baffle structures(no baffle, conventional baffle, baffle with circular perforations and baffle with fish-like perforations) are systematically investigated using experimental and numerical methods. The results indicate that the forced flow scheme exhibits better thermal management performance and voltage equalization than static flow. Moreover, the LIB temperatures and voltage deviations of different LIBTMSs increase quickly with increasing discharge rates. More importantly, the innovative LIBTMS exhibits the best thermoelectric performance due to its excellent thermoelectric equilibrium behavior caused by high electrical and temperature consistency, as well as the best overall performance involving the balance between the pressure loss and heat transfer capacity of the system. Compared with other structures, the innovative LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations exhibits a maximum reduction of 10.1%, 15.2%, 25.8% and 9.0% in LIB maximum temperature, maximum temperature difference, system pressure drop and voltage deviation, respectively, under the same operating ***, for the LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations, the bottom inlet and top outlet configuration and coolant precooling are suggested to enhance cooling performance.

In order to avoid serious distortion and cracking that may occur with nitrided parts while quenching and tempering, a novel kind of air cooling bainite nitriding steel consisting of Cr, Mo, Mn and Si was developed. After normalized and high temperature tempered, the tested steel has satisfactory strength, toughness and microstructure as well as good nitriding properties.

Efficiency of the motion amplification device with viscous dampers and its application in high-rise buildings

After nearly a decade of application and investigation, a motion amplification device with viscous dampers for energy dissipation has been recognized as an effective solution to mitigate wind or seismic excitation, especially for stiff structural systems. As a result of compensation of amplified motion, it has been proved that the efficiency of viscous damper largely depends on the motion amplification device configuration, particularly for device stiflhess. In this paper, a ＂scissor-jack＂ type of motion amplification device, called a ＂toggle brace damper＂ system, is studied. It is demonstrated that the efficiency of such a device reflected by its amplification factor is not merely a function of its geometric configuration, but is highly dependent on the support elements＇ stiffness as well, similar to the mechanism of a leverage arm. Accordingly, a mathematical model in terms of complex modulus of the viscous damper with consideration of the support brace＇s stiffness is established. The results indicate that the efficiency of the motion amplification device with viscous dampers significantly depends on the stiffness of the support elements. Other parameters, such as toggle brace configuration and damping values of the viscous damper, are studied and compared. As an application example, numerical analyses are conducted to study the dynamic performance of a 39-story office tower installed with toggle brace dampers constructed on soft soil in a reclaimed area, under a combined effect of the vortex shedding of an adjacent existing 52-story building and earthquakes. The results show that viscous dampers with a motion amplification system using a properly designed toggle brace device proved to be an effective solution to alleviate the external excitations.

Microstructure and Wear/corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steel Laser-alloyed with Mn+W2C, Mn+NiWC and Mn+SiC

In-situ formed high Mn steel coating reinforced by carbides was formed by laser surface alloying （LSA）.Laser alloyed layers on 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel with Mn+W2C （specimen A）,Mn+NiWC （specimen B） and Mn+SiC （specimen C） powders were fabricated to improve the wear and corrosion behavior of 1Cr18Ni9Ti steel blades in high speed *** evolution,phases,element distribution,microhardness,wear and corrosion behavior of the laser alloyed layers were *** indicated that high Mn steel matrix composites with undissolved W2C,WC and other in-situ formed carbides were formed by LSA with Mn+W2C and Mn+NiWC while SiC totally dissolved into the high Mn matrix when adding Mn+*** as the binding phase in Ni-WC powder decreased the crack sensitivity of the alloyed layer as compared with the addition of W2C *** improvement in average microhardness was achieved in the matrix in specimen A,B and C,with the value of 615,602 and 277 HV0.5,while that of the substrate was 212 *** increase of microhardness,wear and corrosion resistance is highly corelated to microstructure,formed phases,type and content of carbides,micro-hardness and toughness of the alloyed layers.

PREPARATION OF MDPE-g-MAH COPOLYMERS AND THEIR EFFECT ON PROPERTIES OF MDPE/CaCO_3 SYSTEMS

MDPE-g-MAH copolymers were prepared with MDPE （medium density polyethylene） and MAH （maleic anhydride） under different irradiation doses of high-energy electron accelerator, and FTIR spectra confirmed their structure. The effect of the different contents of MDPE-g-MAH copolymers on properties of MDPE/CaCO3 system is studied intensively. By adding 4 Phr （parts per hundred of resin） MDPE-g-MAH in MDPE/CaCO3 system under irradiation dose of 0.7 MGy, the tensile strength increases from 16.3 MPa to 19.9 MPa, and elongation at break increases from 437% to 518%. SEM images show the domain size of CaCO3 in MDPE-g-MAH systems becomes small. Definitely, MDPE-g-MAH copolymer could improve the compatibility of MDPE/CaCO3 system effectively.

Vision, application scenarios, and key technology trends for 6G mobile communications

With the global commercialization of the fifth-generation(5G) network, many countries, including China, USA, European countries, Japan, and Korea, have started exploring 6G mobile communication network, following the tradition of “planning the next while commercializing one generation”. Currently,studies on 6G networks are at the infancy stage. Research on the vision and requirements for 6G is still ongoing, and the industry is yet to clarify the key enabling technologies for 6G. However, 6G will certainly build on the success of 5G. Therefore, developing high-quality 5G networks and seamlessly integrating 5G with verticals are the priorities before 2030, when 6G is projected to be commercialized. Also, global 5G standards will keep evolving to better support vertical applications. As a milestone, the Third-Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) published Release 16 in July 2020, which continuously enhanced the capabilities of mobile broadband service based on Release 15 and realized the support for low-delay and high-reliability applications, such as Internet of Vehicles and industrial Internet. Currently, 3GPP is working on Releases 17 and 18, focusing on meeting the demands of medium-and high-data-rate machine communication with low-cost and high-precision positioning, which will be published in June 2022. Thus, 6G networks will further expand the application fields and scope of the Internet of Things to accommodate those services and applications that are beyond the capabilities of 5G networks. Herein, we present our vision, application scenarios,and key technological trends for 6G networks. Furthermore, we propose several future research opportunities in 6G networks with regard to industrialization and standardization.

Process optimization of neodymium chloride solutions precipitated by magnesium bicarbonate

Rare earths(REs) are of vital importance for the development of new materials and green *** bicarbonate is one of the most recyclable and environmental-friendly precipitant for REs recovery from leaching solutions. Nd_2(CO_3)_3 has difficulties in industrial production. So in this study,the precipitation of neodymium from chloride solution by magnesium bicarbonate are investigated. The effects of feeding method, [HCO_3^-]/[Nd^(3+)] mole ratio, feeding speed and reaction temperature on yield and impurity(magnesia) content are systematically studied. Results show that the impurity(magnesia)content decreases to 0.010 wt% with a yield approaching to 100% obtained under the conditions of[HCO_3^-]/[Nd^(3+)] = 3.00 by parallel flow addition at 50 ℃. The major impurity(magnesia) in rare earth carbonates mainly presents in the form of physical absorption, which can be easily removed by scrubbing. Therefore, it offers a promising green process that uses magnesium bicarbonate to produce neodymium carbonate due to its cycling of carbon dioxide, magnesium salt and waste water.

Quenching Oils are comprised mostly of mineral oil as major component, but mineral oil alone result in lower cooling performance. Therefore, various additives are formulated as required for each particular case. Cooling curves of mineral oil as determined by JIS method can be divided into three stages, vapor film stage, boiling stage and convection stage. And there are many types of additives used for quenching oil, one effective to shorten vapor film stage and another to shift boiling stage toward lower temperature side. As rapid quenching required temperature range for particular steel varies pending on its shape of CCT curve"1, it is possible to provide higher quench hardening performance using quenching oil formulated of adequate additives.

Effects of ultrasonic-assisted extraction on bioactive compounds,volatile flavors and antioxidant activities of vine tea water extracts

Background:Ampelopsis grossedentata,vine tea,which is the tea alternative beverages in *** vine tea processing,a large amount of broken tea is produced,which has low commercial ***:This study investigates the influence of different extraction methods(room temperature water extraction,boiling water extraction,ultrasonic-assisted room temperature water extraction,and ultrasonic-assisted boiling water extraction,referred to as room temperature water extraction(RE),boiling water extraction(BE),ultrasonic assistance at room temperature water extraction(URE),and ultrasonic assistance in boiling water extraction(UBE))on the yield,dihydromyricetin(DMY)content,free amino acid composition,volatile aroma components,and antioxidant properties of vine tea ***:A notable influence of extraction temperature on the yield of vine tea extracts(P<0.05),with BE yielding the highest at 43.13±0.26%,higher than that of RE(34.29±0.81%).Ultrasound-assisted extraction significantly increased the DMY content of the extracts(P<0.05),whereas DMY content in the RE extracts was 59.94±1.70%,that of URE reached 66.14±2.78%.Analysis revealed 17 amino acids,with L-serine and aspartic acid being the most abundant in the extracts,nevertheless ultrasound-assisted extraction reduced total free amino acid *** chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis demonstrated an increase in the diversity and quantity of compounds in the vine tea water extracts obtained through ultrasonic-assisted ***,69 and 68 volatile compounds were found in URE and UBE extracts,which were higher than the number found in RE and BE *** vitro,antioxidant activity assessments revealed varying antioxidant capacities among different extraction methods,with RE exhibiting the highest DPPH scavenging rate,URE leading in ABTS•+free radical scavenging,and BE demonstrating superior ferric ion reducing antioxidant ***:The findings suggest that extraction methods signi
