Predisposing factors and surgical outcome of complicated liver hydatid cysts

AIM: To evaluate the predisposing factors for peritoneal perforation and intrabiliary rupture and the effects of these complications on surgical outcome in liver hydatid ***: A total of 372 patients with liver hydatid cysts who had undergone surgical treatment were evaluated retrospectively. Twenty eight patients with peritoneal perforation, 93 patients with spontaneous intrabiliary perforation, and 251 patients with noncomplicated hydatid cysts were treated in our ***: When the predisposing factors for complications were evaluated, younger age, superf icial position, and larger cyst dimensions (P 0.05). The overall recurrence rate was 3.8% (14 patients), but there was not any statistical difference among the patient groups (P = 0.13). The early postoperative mortality rate was 1.1%. CONCLUSION: In peritoneally perforated and intrabiliary ruptured cases, the most important steps are irrigation of the peritoneal cavity and clearance of the cystic material from the biliary tree.

Thermodynamic properties and phase diagrams of a mixed spin-(1,2) Ising ferrimagnetic system with single ion anisotropy on hexagonal nanowire are studied by using effective-field theory with correlations. The susceptibility,internal energy and specific heat of the system are numerically examined and some interesting phenomena in these quantities are found. The effect of the Hamiltonian parameters on phase diagrams are examined in detail. Besides second-order phase transition, lines of first-order transition and tricritical points are found. In particular, we found that for some negative values of single-ion anisotropies, there exist first-order phase transitions.

The equilibrated grain boundary groove shapes of solid solution Ag2Al in equilibrium with an AI-Cu-Ag liquid were observed from a quenched sample with a radial heat flow apparatus. The Gibbs Thomson coefficient, solid liquid interfacial energy and grain boundary energy of the solid solution Ag2Al have been determined from the observed grain boundary groove shapes. The thermal conductivity of the solid phase and the thermal conductivity ratio of the liquid phase to solid phase for Ag2Al-28.3 at the %CuAl2 alloy at the melting temperature have also been measured with a radial heat flow apparatus and Bridgman type growth apparatus, separately.

Cerium sulfide(Cex Sy)polycrystalline thin film is coated with chemical bath deposition on substrates(commercial glass).Transmittance,absorption,optical band gap and refractive index are examined by using UV/*** hexagonal form is observed in the structural properties in *** structural and optical properties of cerium sulfide thin films are analyzed at different p *** and EDX analyses are made for surface analysis and elemental ratio in *** is observed that some properties of films changed with different p H *** this study,the focus is on the observed changes in the properties of *** p H values were scanned at 6–*** optical band gap changed with p H between 3.40 to 3.60 e *** addition,the film thickness changed with p H at 411 nm to 880 nm.

This paper reported the synthesis, crystal structure and electrical conductivity properties of Ni-doped ZnO powders （i.e. Zn1-xNixO binary system, X=0, 0.0025, 0.005, 0.0075 and in the range 0.01≤X〈0.15）. I- phase samples, which were indexed as single phase with a hexagonal （wurtzite） structure in the Zn1-xNixO binary system, were determined by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The widest range of the I-phase was determined as 0≤X≤0.03 at 1200℃; above this range the mixed phase was observed. The impurity phase was determined as NiO when compared with standard XRD data, using the PDF program. We focused on single f-phase ZnO samples which were synthesized at 1200℃ because of the widest range of solubility limit at this temperature. It was observed that the lattice parameters a and c of the I-phase decreased with Ni doping concentration. The morphology of the I-phase samples was analyzed with a scanning electron microscope. The electrical conductivity of the pure ZnO and single I-phase samples were studied by using the four-probe dc method at temperatures between 100 and 950℃ in air atmosphere. The electrical conductivity values of pure ZnO and 3 mol% Ni-doped ZnO samples at 100℃C were 2×10^-6 and 4.8×10^-6 Ω-***^-1, and at 950℃ they were 1.8 and 3.6 Ω-1cm-1, respectively. In other words, electrical conductivity increased with Ni doping concentration.

Spinel LiMn204 was synthesized by glycine-nitrate method and coated with CaCO3 in order to enhance the electrochemical performance at room temperature （25℃） and 55℃. The uncoated and CaCO3-coated LiMn204 materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and electrochemical tests. XRD and SEM results indicated that CaCO3 particles encapsulated the surface of the LiMn204 without causing any structural change. The charge-discharge tests showed that the specific discharge capacity fade of pristine electrode at 25 and 55℃ were 25.5% and 52%, respectively. However, surface modified cathode shows 7.4% and 29.5% loss compared to initial specific discharge capacity at 70th cycle for 25 and 55~C, respectively. The improvement of electrochemical performance is attributed to suppression of Mn2＋ dissolution into electrolyte via CaCO3 layer.

Bond Dilution Effects on Bethe Lattice the Spin-1 Blume–Capel Model

The bond dilution effects are investigated for the spin-1 Blume-Capel model on the Bethe lattice by using the exact recursion relations. The bilinear interaction parameter is either turned on ferromagnetically with probability p or turned off with probability 1 - p between the nearest-neighbor spins. The thermal variations of the order-parameters are studied in detail to obtain the phase diagrams on the possible planes spanned by the temperature （T）, probability （p） and crystal field （D） for the coordination numbers q = 3, 4, and 6. The lines of the second-order phase transitions, To-lines, combined with the first-order ones, Tt-lines, at the tricritical points （TCP） are always found for any p and q on the （T, D）-planes. It is also found that the model gives only Tc-lines, To-lines combined with the Tt-lines at the TCP＇s and only Tt-lines with the consecutively decreasing values of D on the （T, p）-planes for aJ1 q.

In order to understand its response towards nickel stress, watercress （Nasturtium officinale R. Br.） was exposed to nickel （1-25 mg/L） for 1, 3, 5 and 7 days. The accumulation and translocation of nickel were determined and the influence of nickel on biomass, protein content and enzymatic antioxidants was examined for both roots and leaves. It was determined that N. o fficinale could accumulate appreciable amounts of Ni in both roots and leaves. Nickel accumulated particularly in the roots of plants. Biomass increased at low nickel concentrations but certain measurable change was not found at high concentrations. Under stress conditions the antioxidant enzymes were up-regulated compared to control. An increase in protein content and enzyme activities was observed at moderate exposure conditions followed by a decline at both roots and leaves. The maximum enzyme activities were observed at different exposure conditions. Our results showed that N. officinale had the capacity to overcome nickel-induced stress especially at moderate nickel exposure. Therefore, N. officinale may be used as a phytoremediator in moderately polluted aquatic ecosystems.

We present exact solutions for the Klein Gordon equation with a ring-shaped oscillator potential. The energy eigenvalues and the normalized wave functions are obtained for a particle in the presence of non-central oscillator potential. The angulm＂ functions are expressed in terms of the hypergeometric functions. The radial eigenfunetions have been obtained by using the Laplace integral transform. By means of the Laplace transform method, which is efficient and simple, the radial Klein-Gordon equation is reduced to a first-order differential equation.
