Biosynthesized CS-MgO/zeolite hybrid material:An efficient adsorbent for chlorpyrifos removal-Kinetic studies and response surface methodology

The prevalence of organophosphate pesticides in aquatic environments raises severe concerns on a global ***,an insecticide,is included in a class of organophosphate *** is widely used on agricultural lands to control pests in cotton,fruit,and *** acute toxicity of chlorpyrifos is still dangerous to all aquatic living *** the treatment of water contaminated with chlorpyrifos is an important *** recent decade has witnessed adsorption technology emerging as an advanced organophosphate pesticide wastewater treatment with great potential and a grand blueprint,in which the specific surface area and active sites of the adsorbent are considered to be the two most important characteristics largely impacting the adsorption *** this study,a CS-MgO/Zeolite composite was prepared by the microbial method as an effective adsorbent for the removal of chlorpyrifos from an aqueous *** adsorbent's properties were carefully characterized using Xray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and Fourier-transform infrared *** refinement of experimental conditions,encompassing variations in adsorbent dosage,contact time,and chlorpyrifos concentration at five discrete levels,was systematically undertaken through the utilization of a composite central design rooted in response surface *** solution pH played a key role in chlorpyrifos removal,and a pH of 7.0 was selected according to its high adsorption *** highest removal(80.9%)of chlorpyrifos by CS-MgO/Zeolite was obtained at an optimum pH of 7,a contact time of 40 min,an adsorbent dosage of 0.4 g/L,and a chlorpyrifos concentration of 5 mg/L^(-1).The adsorption results were highly fitted with the Freundlich adsorption isotherm model,and the maximum adsorption was 83.3 mg/*** studies indicate that the removal of chlorpyrifos followed the pseudo-secondorder model of adsorption(0.994).The thermodynamic parameters indicate the sponta

Effective removal of emerging contaminants(ECs)to minimize their impacts on human health and the natural environment is a global *** the removal of ECs in water,we fabricated a seaweed spherical microsphere catalyst with Cu cation-πstructures by in situ doping of Cu species and ascorbic acid in mesoporous silica(Cu-C-MSNs)via a hydrothermal *** results indicate that bisphenol A(BPA)is substantially degraded within 5 min under natural conditions,with its biological toxicity considerably ***,industrial wastewater could also be effectively purified by Cu-C-MSNs/H_(2)O_(2) *** presence of metal sites and the complexation of ECs via cation-πinteraction andπ-πstacking on the catalyst surface were directly responsible for the polarization distribution of electrons,thus activating H_(2)O_(2) and dissolved oxygen(DO).The removal of contaminants could be attributed primarily to 1)the activation of H_(2)O_(2) into ^(·)OH to attack the contaminants and 2)self-cleavage because of the transfer of electrons from the contaminants to the *** study provides an innovative solution for the effective treatment of ECs and has positive implications for easing global environmental crises.

Solar-driven H_(2)O_(2)production and emerging organic pollutants(EOPs)elimination are of great significance from the perspective of environmental *** efficiency of the photocatalytic reaction system is the key challenge to be *** this work,the strategy of constructing surface ionic local polarization centers to enhance the exciton dissociation of the polymeric photocatalytic is *** bipyridinium cation(TMAP)is complexed on a K^(+)-incorporated carbon nitride(CNK)framework,and the combination of local polarization centers both on the surface(bipyridinium cation)and bulk(K+cation)contributes to a superior photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)production performance,affording a remarkable H_(2)O_(2)generation rate of 46.8μmol h^(-1)mg^(-1)and a high apparent quantum yield(AQY)value of 77.5%under irradiation of 405 nm *** substantiated experimentally by steady state/transient spectroscopy techniques,the surface local polarization centers increase the population of the long-lived trapped electrons,and thereby promote the interfacial charge transfer process for chemical conversion *** strategy is potentially applicable to the design of a wide range of efficient solar-to-chemical conversion systems.

Land use/land cover represents the interactive and comprehensive influences between human activities and natural conditions,leading to potential conflicts among natural and human-related issues as well as among *** study introduced economic standards for farmers.A hybrid approach(CA-ABM)of cellular automaton(CA)and an agent-based model(ABM)was developed to effectively deal with social and land-use synergic issues to examine human–environment interactions and projections of land-use conversions for a humid basin in south *** attributes and socioeconomic data were used to analyze land use/land cover and its drivers of *** major modules of the CA-ABM are initialization,migration,assets,land suitability,and land-use change *** estimates of the factors influencing the urban land-use conversion probability were captured using parameters based on a spatial logistic regression(SLR)***,multicriteria evaluation(MCE)and Markov models were introduced to obtain empirical estimates of the factors affecting the probability of ecological land *** agent-based CA-SLR-MCE-Markov(ABCSMM)land-use conversion model was proposed to explore the impacts of policies on land-use *** model can reproduce observed land-use patterns and provide links for forest transition and urban expansion to land-use decisions and ecosystem *** results demonstrated land-use simulations under multi-policy scenarios,revealing the usefulness of the model for normative research on land-use management.

Molecular engineering towards dual surface local polarization sites on poly(heptazine imide)framework for boosting H_(2)O_(2) photo-production

The selective 2e^(−)ORR reaction on polymeric carbon nitride framework is one of the most promising approaches for solar-driven hydrogen peroxide ***(heptazine imide)(PHI)as a class of K+-incorporated crystalline carbon nitride framework,is highly active for photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)*** upgrade on the H_(2)O_(2)photoproduction performance of PHI is realized and the mechanistic insights are revealed in this *** photochemical reaction,the electron withdrawing groups of hydroxyl group and cyano group are grafted on the surface of PHI *** dual polarization sites on the sur-face contribute significantly to the enhancement of the exciton *** optimized PHI with dual polarization sites exhibits a remarkable photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)production performance,which is 2times of the active pristine *** importantly,the photochemical reaction method is generally applicable to improve the exciton dissociation of a wide range of polymeric carbon nitride frameworks with vari-ous structure and compositions;and the thiourea-derived polymeric carbon nitride framework with dual surface polarization sites exhibits a remarkable photocatalytic performance with a high H_(2)O_(2)production rate of 40.5 mmol h^(−1)g^(−1).

Numerical study of the influence of the atmospheric pressure on the thermal environment in the passenger cabin

The cabin air pressure remains lower than the horizontal atmospheric pressure when the airplane is in *** pressure is one of the parameters that must be taken into consideration while studying the thermal environment of an airplane *** are still no reference values for aircraft cabins despite the fact that numerous studies on low pressure heat transfer have demonstrated the connection between convective heat transfer coefficient(CHTC)and air *** this paper,a correction method for CHTC under low pressure conditions was established by using the dummy heat dissipation in the low-pressure cabin *** this basis,a thermal environment simulation model was developed,then was applied to the simulation of a seven-row aircraft cabin containing 42 passengers,and the CHTC and heat loss of dummy surface in the cabin were ***,the results of PMV calculated by using heat dissipation and air parameters at sampling points were *** results show that the modified CHTC can accurately reflect the cabin thermal environment under low pressure conditions,and the correction of CHTC can be realized by adjusting the turbulent Prandtl number,which is nonlinear correlated with the *** simulation results of the thermal environment in the seven-row cabin show that the CHTC changes by about 42%before and after *** air pressure decreases during take-off,which reduces the average CHTC of the crew surface from 5.09 W/(m^(2)·K)to 4.56 W/(m^(2)·K),but the air temperature rises by about 0.2°C as a *** deviation of PMV results calculated by using simulated heat loss data and using air parameters of measuring points in space is up to 0.5,but the latter is representative for calculating the thermal comfort level of the whole cabin.

The energy-free purification of trace thallium(I)-contaminated potable water using a high-selective filter paper with multi-layered Prussian blue decoration

Thallium is a highly toxic metal,and trace amount of thallium(I)(Tl+)in potable water could cause a severe water crisis,which arouses the exploitation of highly-effective technology for purification of Tl+contaminated *** report proposes the multi-layered Prussian blue(PB)-decorated composite membranes(PBx@PDA/PEI-FP)based on the aminated filter papers for Tl+*** characterization by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer-attenuated total reflectance,scanning electron microscope,thermogravimetric analysis,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction were performed to confirm the in situ growth of cubic PB crystals on filter paper membrane surfaces via the aminated layers,and the successful fabrication of multi-layered PB overcoats via the increasing of aminated *** effect of PB layers on Tl+removal by PBx@PDA/PEI-FP from simulated drinking water was evaluated as well as the influence of different experimental conditions.A trade-off between PB decoration layer number and PB distribution sizes is existed in Tl+uptake by PBx@PDA/*** double-layered PB2@PDA/PEI-FP membrane showed the maximum sorption capacity,but its Tl+uptake performance was weakened by the acid,coexisting ions(K+and Na+)and powerful operation pressure,during filtrating a large volume of low-concentrated Tl+-containing ***,the negative effect of coexisting ions on the Tl+uptake could be effectively eliminated in weak alkaline water,and the Tl+removal was increased up to 100%without any pressure driving for PB2@PDA/PEI-FP *** importantly,PB2@PDA/PEI-FP displayed the high-efficiency and high-selectivity in purifying the Tl+-spiked Pearl River water,in which the residual Tl+in filtrate was less than 2μg·L^(–1) to meet the drinking water standard of United States environmental Protection *** work provides a feasible avenue to safeguard the drinking water in remote and underdeveloped area via the energy-free operation.

Synthesis of chitosan-based grafting magnetic flocculants for flocculation of kaolin suspensions

A series of novel chitosan-based magnetic flocculants FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)was prepared by molecular structure *** characterization results showed that FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)had a uniform size of about 21.46 nm,featuring a typical core-shell structure,and the average coating layer thickness of CTS-P(AM-DMC)was about 5.03 ***@CTS-P(AM-DMC)exhibited excellent flocculation performance for kaolin suspension,achieved 92.54% turbidity removal efficiency under dosage of 150 mg/L,pH 7.0,even at high turbidity(2000 NTU)with a removal efficiency of 96.96%.The flocculation mechanism was revealed to be dominated by charge neutralization under acidic and neutral conditions,while adsorption and bridging effects play an important role in alkaline *** properties of magnetic aggregates during flocculation,breakage,and regeneration were studied at different pH levels and *** the process of magnetophoretic,magnetic particles collide and adsorb with kaolin particles continuously due to magnetic and electrostatic attraction,transform into magnetic chain clusters,and then further form three-dimensional network magnetic aggregates that can capture free kaolin particles and other chain *** image velocimetry confirmed the formation of eddy current of magnetic flocs and experienced three stages:acceleration,stabilization,and deceleration.

Boosting oxygen vacancies by modulating the morphology of Au decorated In_(2)O_(3)with enhanced CO_(2)hydrogenation activity to CH_(3)OH

CO_(2)hydrogenation to methanol has become one of the most promising ways for CO_(2)utilization,however,the CO_(2)conversion rate and methanol selectivity of this reaction still need to be improved for industrial *** we investigated the structure-activity relationship for CO_(2)conversion to methanol of In_(2)O_(3)-based catalysts by modulating morphology and decorating *** different Au/In_(2)O_(3)catalysts were prepared,their activity follow the sequence of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanosphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-nanoplate(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NP)>Au/In_(2)O_(3)-hollow microsphere(Au/In_(2)O_(3)-HM).Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS exhibited the best performance with good CO_(2)conversion of 12.7%,high methanol selectivity of 59.8%,and large space time yield of 0.32 g CH_(3)OH/(hr·gcat)at 300℃.The high performance of Au/In_(2)O_(3)-NS was considered as the presence of *** contributes to the creation of more surface oxygen vacancies,which further promoted the CO_(2)adsorption and facilitated CO_(2)activation to form the formate intermediates towards *** work clearly suggests that the activity of In_(2)O_(3)catalyst can be effective enhanced by structure engineering and Au decorating.

Increasing risks of incidental and occupational exposures to two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(2D TMDCs)due to their broad application in various areas raised their public health *** the composition-dependent cytotoxicity of 2D TMDCs has been well-recognized,how the outer chalcogenide atoms and inner transition metal atoms differentially contribute to their perturbation on cell homeostasis at non-lethal doses remains to be *** the present work,we compared the autophagy induction and related mechanisms in response to WS_(2),NbS_(2),WSe_(2)and Nb Se_(2)nanosheets exposures in MH-S murine alveolar *** these 2D TMDCs had comparable physicochemical properties,overall cytotoxicity and capability in triggering autophagy in MH-S cells,but showed outer chalcogen-dependent subcellular localization and activation of autophagy ***,WS_(2)and NbS_(2)nanosheets adhered on the cell surface and internalized in the lysosomes,and triggered m TOR-dependent activation of ***,WSe_(2)and Nb Se_(2)nanosheets had extensive distribution in cytoplasm of MH-S cells and induced autophagy in an m TOR-independent ***,the 2D TMDCs-induced perturbation on autophagy aggravated the cytotoxicity of respirable benzo[a]*** findings provide a deeper insight into the potential health risk of environmental 2D TMDCs from the perspective of homeostasis perturbation.
