High summer background O_(3)levels in the desert of northwest China

Generally speaking,the precursors of ozone(O_(3)),nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds are very low in desert areas due to the lack of anthropogenic emissions and natural emissions,and thus O_(3)concentrations are relatively ***,high summer background concentrations of about 100μg/m^(3)or 60 ppb were found in the Alxa Desert in the highland of northwest China based on continuous summer observations from 2019 to 2021,which was higher than the most of natural background areas or clean areas in world for summer O_(3)background *** high O_(3)background concentrations were related to surface features and ***-intensity anthropogenic activity areas in desert areas can cause increased O_(3)concentrations or pollution,but also generated O_(3)depleting substances such as nitrous oxide,which eventually reduced the regional O_(3)baseline *** dioxide(NO2)also had a dual effect on O_(3)generation,showing promotion at low concentrations and inhibition at high *** addition,sand-dust weather reduced O_(3)clearly,but O_(3)eventually stabilized around the background concentration values and did not vary with sand-dust particulate matter.

Characteristics and Health Risks of Metal Elements in House Dust in Baotou

To understand the potential impact of metal elements in house dust in heavy industrial cities on human health，house dust samples were collected from 46 residential quarters of four urban districts of Baotou city. The contents of 13 metal elements were determined，and the pollution characteristics，sources，and health risks of metal elements were analyzed. The results showed that the enrichment factors and geo-accumulation indices of anthropogenic metals（Pb，As，Cu，Fe，Cd，Cr，Ni，and Zn）were extremely high，indicating a high pollution degree. The concentrations，enrichment factors，and geo-accumulation indices of iron smelting-related elements（Fe，Mn，Cr，and V）were in the order of Kundulun district > Qingshan district > Jiuyuan district > Donghe district，which was negatively correlated with the distance from the large iron smelting enterprise. Principal component analysis identified five sources：the iron and steel smelting source，natural source，nonferrous metal smelting source，traffic source，and coal combustion，among which iron and steel smelting and natural sources were the major sources of metal elements in house dust in Baotou. The results of health risk assessment suggested that ingestion and dermal contact were the major exposure pathways of metal elements in house dust in Baotou. The influence of the inhalation pathway could be ignored. All individual metal elements had no carcinogenic risk to adults or children. However，the combined action of all elements posed a certain non-carcinogenic risk to children. Ni，As，and Cr had carcinogenic health risks to both adults and children. © 2025 Science Press. BACKGROUND Sulongga-4(SL-4)is a herbal formula used in traditional mongolian medical clinics for the treatment of peptic ulcers and gastroenteritis,even though its pharmacological mechanism has not been well *** To evaluate the protective effect and identify the mechanisms of action of SL-4 on gastroduodenal ulcer induced by pyloric ligation(PL)in *** PL was performed to induce gastric and duodenal ulcers in rats,which were then treated with oral SL-4(1.3,2.6,or 3.9 g/kg per day)for 15 ***-induced gastroduodenal *** effects were characterized by pathological and histological evaluations and inflammatory indicators were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** analyses were conducted to identify gene expression profiles of gastroduodenal tissue in PL rats with or without SL-4 *** candidate target genes were selected and verified by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).RESULTS SL-4 decreased histopathological features in the PL-induced ulcerated ***-4 significantly (P < 0.05) decreased expression of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, endotoxin, platelet-activating factor, and increasedprostaglandin E2 and epidermal growth factor in ulcer tissue. Microarray analysiswas used to identify a panel of candidate target genes for SL-4 acting on PLinducedulceration. Genes included some complement and coagulation cascadeand retinol metabolism pathways that are closely associated with inflammatoryresponses and gastric mucosal protective mechanisms. qRT-PCR showed thataltered expression of the selected genes, such as CYP2b2, UGT2b1, A2m, andMASP1 was consistent with the microarray ***-4 exerts protective effects against PL-induced gastroduodenal ulcers viareducing inflammatory cytokines and elevating expression of gastric acidinhibitory factors. Grassland biomass is an important parameter of grassland *** complexity of the grassland canopy vegetation spectrum makes the long-term assessment of grassland growth a *** studies have explored the original spectral information of typical grasslands in inner mongolia and examined the influence of spectral information on aboveground biomass(AGB)*** order to improve the accuracy of vegetation index inversion of grassland AGB,this study combined ground and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)remote sensing technology and screened sensitive bands through ground hyperspectral data transformation and correlation *** narrow band vegetation indices were calculated,and ground and airborne hyperspectral inversion models were ***,the accuracy of the model was *** results showed that:(1)The vegetation indices constructed based on the ASD FieldSpec 4 and the UAV were significantly correlated with the dry and fresh weight of AGB.(2)The comparison between measured R^(2) with the prediction R^(2) indicated that the accuracy of the model was the best when using the Soil-Adjusted Vegetation Index(SAVI)as the independent variable in the analysis of AGB(fresh weight/dry weight)and four narrow-band vegetation *** SAVI vegetation index showed better applicability for biomass monitoring in typical grassland areas of inner mongolia.(3)The obtained ground and airborne hyperspectral data with the optimal vegetation index suggested that the dry weight of AGB has the best fitting effect with airborne hyperspectral data,where y=17.962e^(4.672x),the fitting R^(2) was 0.542,the prediction R^(2)was 0.424,and RMSE and REE were 57.03 and 0.65,***,established vegetation indices by screening sensitive bands through hyperspectral feature analysis can significantly improve the inversion accuracy of typical grassland biomass in inner *** with ground monitoring,airborne hyperspectral monitoring better reflec

The Conversion Relationship between the Local Earthquake Magnitude and Surface Wave Magnitude in the inner mongolia Digital Seismic Network

Using 116 earthquakes over M_L3.8 in the inner mongolia region from 2008 to 2015, the local earthquake magnitude M_L and surface wave magnitude M_S are remeasured. Based on norm linear regression(SR1 and SR2) and norm(OR) orthogonal regression method, we established the conversion relationship between M_L and M_S. The results were tested with Gaussian disturbance. The result shows that the orthogonal regression method(OR) result has the best fitting curve, and the conversion relation is M_S=0.96 M_L-0.10. The difference between our result and Guo Lücan's(M_S=1.13 M_L-1.08) may be caused by regional tectonic characteristics. M_(S inner mongolia) value is significantly higher than the M_(S empirical) value, with an average difference of 0.23, the difference distribution of empirical relation and the rectified relation is in the range of 0.2-0.3.

Case study of performance assessment of overlapping shield tunnels with a small curve radius

Due to the network planning of subways and their surrounding structures,increasingly more overlapping shields with a small curve radius have been constructed. A newly constructed upper tunnel partly overlaps a lower one, leading to the extremely complex uplift of the lower tunnel caused by the construction of a new tunnel. Based on the shield-driven project that runs from the Qinghe Xiaoyingqiao Station to the Qinghe Station in Beijing, which adopts the reinforcement measures of interlayer soil grouting and steel supports on site, in this study, the uplift pattern of the lower tunnel and the stress characteristics of steel supports were investigated through numerical simulations and on-site *** study results show that among all tunnel segments, the first segment of the shield witnesses a maximum uplift displacement that increases with the horizontal space between tunnels. On using either interlayer soil grouting or steel-ring bracing reinforcement, the uplift of the tunnel lining exceeds the control value;by contrast,when these two measures are jointly applied, the uplift of the tunnel lining does not exceed a maximum value of 4.87 mm, which can satisfy the requirements of deformation control. Under these two joint measures, the soil strength between two stacked shield tunnels can be enhanced and the uplift deformation can be restricted with the interlayer soil grouting. Also, the segmental deformation and overall stability of the existing tunnel can be controlled with the temporary steel *** deformation of circumferential supports and segments is closely related to each other, and the segmental uplift is controlled by H-shaped steel supports. With the increase in the horizontal space between twin shields, the effect of the construction would gradually weaken, accompanied by a gradual reduction of the stresses of steel supports. Determination of Focal Depths of the MS5.8 Alxa Left Banner,inner mongolia Earthquake Sequence

Using the double-difference earthquake location algorithm,the deterministic method (PTD method) and the CAP seismic moment tensor inversion method,the paper selects the primary waveform data of 78 earthquakes recorded by the "China Earthquake Science Array Probe Project in the Northern Part of North South Seismic Belt ",the "China Earthquake Scientific Exploration Array Data Center"of Institute of Geophysics,China Earthquake Administration,and the inner mongolia Digital Seismic Network to calculate the focal depths of the mainshock and the seismic sequence of the M_S5.8 Alxa Left Banner earthquake in inner mongolia. The results show that the focal depth of the main shock is 20. 6 km,determined by the double-difference earthquake location method,18. 1 km by the PTD method,and 19. 2 km by the CAP method. The focal depth of the earthquake sequence calculated by the double-difference location method is larger. The deterministic method (PTD method) and double-difference location method are the methods that fit the tectonic characteristics of the seismic source area,and the CAP method is suitable for larger earthquakes.
