Transitional metal oxides have a wide range of applications due to their superior *** enhanced performance of metal oxide relies on their desirable oxidation states,which is challenging to achieve and requires complex *** study demonstrates a facile strategy enabling rapid phase transformation of transition metal *** approach involves synthesis of a tetragonal Mn3O4/carbon cloth composite using the liquid plasma discharge deposition （LPDD） technique,followed by laser irradiation with the presence of ethylene glycol under an N2gas *** resulting face-centered cubic MnO/carbon cloth electrode exhibits an excellent capacitance of 1,125 F g-1at 2 A g-1,with remarkable capacitance retention of 95%after10,000 *** approach can be extended to other transition metals including Co,Cu,Cr,Fe,Ni,and *** simulations reveal the significance of ethylene glycol and the underlying mechanism associated with the phase transformation of transition metal *** present study offers a powerful technique for the phase transformation of transition metal oxide which can guide the development of new electrode materials with enhanced electrochemical properties for high-performance energy storage applications.

Orbital pacing and secular evolution of lake-level changes reconstructed by sedimentary noise modeling during the Early Jurassic icehouses-(super)greenhouses

Lake-level changes can significantly affect paleoenvironmental evolution,resource occurrence,terrestrial carbon budget,and biodiversity in continental *** is one of the most critical factors controlling lake-level *** of the Early Jurassic has been evidenced by oscillating icehouses to(super)greenhouses with interrupted intermittent extreme climatic events(hyperthermal and cooling),e.g.,the Toarcian oceanic anoxic event(~183 Ma)and the late Pliensbachian cooling event(~185 Ma).Lake-level evolution and hydrologic cycling on Earth’s surface during the Early Jurassic icehouses-to-(super)greenhouses are thus far poorly understood due to a lack of continuous high-resolution nonmarine *** we present a super-long nonmarine lake level record for this pivotal interval from the early Pliensbachian to Toarcian by sedimentary noise modeling,and construct a 16.7-Myr-long astronomical time scale(174.2 Ma to 190.9 Ma)based on cyclostratigraphy analysis of rock color datasets(CIE b*)of the Qaidam *** results document lake-level oscillations on a 5-to 10-million-year(Myr)scale which shows a pronounced correlation with long-term climate variation and extreme climatic events,and 1-to 2.5-Myr-scale lake-level changes that are prominently paced by the 2.4-Myr long-eccentricity forcing and the 1.2-Myr obliquity *** the Pliensbachian Stage,the 1.2-Myr-scale lake-level changes are in phase with the coeval sealevel *** forced growth and decay of the ephemeral or permanent ice sheets in polar regions are interpreted to control the synchronous ups-and-downs of continental lake level and global sea ***,during the Toarcian ice-free greenhouses to(super)greenhouses,the 1.2-Myr-scale lake-level variations show an anti-phase relationship with global sea level,indicating a‘seesaw’interaction between continental reservoirs(lakes and groundwater)and global *** 2.4-Myr longeccentricity cycles mainly regulate variation

Predicting Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index for Fada N’Gourma by 2050 Using CMPI-6 Outputs under SSPs Scenarios

Extreme weather events,such as floods and droughts,are expected to rise significantly worldwide as a result of climate *** future drought patterns is therefore a key approach for elaborating anticipatory water resources management responses to climate *** this paper,future meteorological drought conditions are investigated based on the SPEI(Standardised Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index).This study makes use of observed and projected *** simulated data were retrieved from the CMIP6(Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6)over the period 2025-2050,and the Delta change method was adopted to remove the bias in the *** SPEI at various scales has been estimated under four future scenarios(SSP1-2.6,SSP2-4.5,SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5).The trend analysis of the projected SPEI was performed at p<0.05 using the MMK(Modified Mann-Kendall)test in order to detect the statistically significant trend of the drought against the null hypothesis of no *** show large variability in the magnitude of drought in the past and *** on SPEI at 24 months accumulation,the result shows that under SSP1-2.6,the basin will experience a wet period during the first decade(SPEI=0.60),the second decade will be dry(SPEI24=-0.43).The remaining years will be also dry(SPEI=-0.34).Under SSP2-4.5,SSP3-7.0 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios,the district will experience a wet period during the first two decades with SPEI ranging from 0.38 to *** wet period will be followed by a dry period under these scenarios ranging from-0.14 ***,under SSPs scenarios,two main periods characterized by a rainfall recovery spanning from followed by a moderately prolonged drought are identified within the study *** findings of this study may provide valuable information for developing proactive measures to reduce water insecurity in Fada N’Gourma through effective drought mitigation.

The Paleocene coals of the Salt Range in the Punjab Province of Pakistan have great economic potential;however,their trace element and stable isotopic characteristics have not been studied in detail except for a few sporadic *** this study,a total of 59 coal samples of which 14 are obtained from open cast mines have been investigated for elemental composition andδ^(13)C-δ^(15)N isotopic *** contents of trace elements such as Co,Cr,Cu,Pb,Sr,Th,U,V,and Zn are 7.4,41.7,11.2,12.5,90.2,4.0,1.9,128,and 31.1 mg/kg,*** values,when compared with the World Coal Clarke values,were relatively higher in low-rank coals in comparison with Clarke values for brown ***,As(20.4 mg/kg),Co(6.6 mg/kg),Cr(22.4 mg/kg),Cu(^(13).3 mg/kg),Pb(19.2 mg/kg),Sr(^(15)4.7 mg/kg),Th(2.5 mg/kg),V(47.8 mg/kg),and Zn(75.1 mg/kg)were significantly higher in the sub-bituminous to bituminous coals of the Salt *** analysis,based on X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,revealed that the studied samples contain illite,kaolinite calcite,gypsum,pyrite,and *** affinity with organic and inorganic phases of coals calculated by an indirect statistical approach indicated a positive association of ash content with Ag,Al,Co,Cr,Cs,Cu,Mn,P,Rb,Pb,Th,U,and V,suggesting the presence of inorganic components in studied ***,As,Fe,Sr,and Zn exhibit negative correlations that imply their association with the organic ***δ^(13)C andδ^(15)N isotopic range and average−24.94‰to−25.86‰(−25.41‰)and−2.77‰to 3.22‰(0.96‰),respectively,reflecting 3C type modern terrestrial vegetation were common in the palaeomires of studied coal *** addition,the trivial variations of 0.92‰and 0.45‰among^(13)C and^(15)N values can be attributed to water level fluctuations and plant assemblies.

Modelling monthly soil losses and sediment yields in Cyprus

The aim of this study was to map soil erosion on the Mediterranean island of *** G2 model,an empirical model for month-time step erosion assessments,was *** losses in Cyprus were mapped at a 100 m cell size,while sediment yields at a sub-basin scale of 0.62 km^(2) mean *** results indicated a mean annual erosion rate of 11.75 t ha^(−1)y−^(1),with October and November being the most erosive *** 34%of the island’s surface was found to exceed non-sustainable erosion rates(>10 t ha^(−1)y−^(1)),with sclerophyllous vegetation,coniferous forests,and non-irrigated arable land being the most extensive non-sustainable erosive land *** mean sediment delivery ratio(SDR)was found to be 0.26,while the mean annual specific sediment yield(SSY)value for Cyprus was found to be 3.32 t ha^(−1)y−^(1).The annual sediment yield of the entire island was found to be 2.746 Mt y−*** study was the first to provide complete and detailed erosion figures for Cyprus at a country *** geodatabase and all information records of the study are available at the European Soil Data Centre(ESDAC)of the Joint Research Centre(JRC).

Advances in photocatalytic disinfection of bacteria:Development of photocatalysts and mechanisms

Photocatalysis has attracted worldwide attention due to its potential in solar energy *** a ＂green＂ advanced oxidation technology, it has been extensively used for water disinfection and wastewater treatment. This article provides a review of the recent progress in solar energy-induced photocatalytic disinfection of bacteria, focusing on the development of highly efficient photocatalysts and their underlying mechanisms in bacterial inactivation. The photocatalysts are classified into Ti O2-based and non-Ti O2-based systems, as Ti O2 is the most investigated photocatalyst. The synthesis methods, modification strategies, bacterial disinfection activities and mechanisms of different types of photocatalysts are reviewed in *** is given to the modified Ti O2, including noble metal deposition, non-metal doping,dye sensitization and composite Ti O2, along with typical non-Ti O2-based photocatalysts for bacterial disinfection, including metal oxides, sulfides, bismuth metallates, graphene-based photocatalysts, carbon nitride-based photocatalysts and natural photocatalysts. A simple and versatile methodology by using a partition system combined with scavenging study is introduced to study the photocatalytic disinfection mechanisms in different photocatalytic systems. This review summarizes the current state of the work on photocatalytic disinfection of bacteria, and is expected to offer useful insights for the future development in the field.

Monthly soil erosion monitoring based on remotely sensed biophysical parameters: a case study in Strymonas river basin towards a functional pan-European service

Currently,many soil erosion studies at local,regional,national or continental scale use models based on the USLE-family *** of these models pay little attention to seasonal changes,despite evidence in the literature which suggests that erosion risk may change rapidly according to intra-annual rainfall figures and vegetation *** paper emphasises the aspect of seasonality in soil erosion mapping by using month-step rainfall erosivity data and biophysical time series data derived from *** latter,together with other existing pan-European geo-databases sets the basis for a functional pan-European service for soil erosion monitoring at a scale of 1:500,*** potential service has led to the establishment of a new modelling approach(called the G2 model)based on the inheritance of USLE-family *** G2 model proposes innovative techniques for the estimation of vegetation and protection *** model has been applied in a 14,500 km 2 study area in SE Europe covering a major part of the basin of the cross-border river,*** results were verified with erosion and sedimentation figures from previous *** study confirmed that monthly erosion mapping would identify the critical months and would allow erosion figures to be linked to specific land uses.

The regulation mechanism and heat transfer enhancement of composite mixed paraffin and copper foam phase change materials

Phase change materials(PCMs)have remarkable energy storage capacity and promising applications in the field of thermal control of electronic *** problem of thermal property improvement and heat transfer of PCMs in metal-foam heatsinks is an important task for thermal management of electronic *** paraffin samples were prepared by mixing appropriate proportions of paraffin(mass)at various *** scanning calorimetry analysis revealed that the maximum enthalpy of 206.3 J/g is obtained by mixing 20%of 17°C liquid paraffin and 80%of 29℃ solid *** and cooling cycling tests revealed that mixed paraffin exhibits excellent thermal stability and that the regulation method marginally affects thermal ***,composites were prepared by embedding PCM into a copper foam by melt *** thermal conductivity of the composites increased to 4.35 W/(m K),corresponding to 20 times its original *** addition,density functional theory and experimental results were in good agreement,indicating that the regulation method is practical and effective.
