Data availability is of vital importance for marine and oceanographic research but most of the European data are fragmented,not always validated and not easily *** the countries bordering the European seas,more than 1000 scientific laboratories from governmental organisations and private industry collect data using various sensors on board of research vessels,submarines,fixed and drifting platforms,aeroplanes and satellites to measure physical,geophysical,geological,biological and chemical parameters,biological species and *** is an Integrated Research Infrastructure Initiative(I3)(2006-2011)in the EU FP6 framework *** is developing an efficient distributed Pan-European marine data management infrastructure for managing these large and diverse data *** is interconnecting the existing professional data centres of 35 countries,active in data collection and providing integrated databases of standardised quality *** article describes the architecture and the features of the SeaDataNet *** particular it describes the way interoperability is achieved between all the contributing data *** it highlights the on-going developments and challenges.

Objective: Although HR activities are known to enhance performance, this seems an often overlooked domain amongst physicians. Therefore, this cross-disciplinary interview study explores how physicians perceive high performance and what activities they find contributing to such performance. Methods: Drawing on HR and healthcare literature, we analysed in-depth interviews with 28 physicians and 7 HR professionals and hospital management representatives, following the grounded theory approach. Results: Our findings demonstrate physicians perceive high performance as a balance between quality of medical care and patient satisfaction and dedication and collaboration are indicated vital dimensions of high performance. Physicians offered suggestions regarding activities contributing to high performance. Conclusion: This cross-disciplinary study recognized dedication and collaboration as crucial elements for physicians to perform to the best of their abilities. These findings suggest that high performance can only flourish when doctors are seen as committed professionals, with strong humanistic values rather than just as providers of medical care. The results of this research furthermore indicate that people management is critical, it is recommended that this should be executed through close collaboration of all those responsible.

The operation of electricity grids has become increasingly complex due to the current upheaval and the increase in renewable energy *** a consequence,active grid management is reaching its limits with conventional *** the context of the Learning to Run a Power Network(L2RPN)challenge,it has been shown that Reinforcement Learning(RL)is an efficient and reliable approach with considerable potential for automatic grid *** this article,we analyse the submitted agent from Binbinchen and provide novel strategies to improve the agent,both for the RL and the rule-based *** main improvement is a N-1 strategy,where we consider topology actions that keep the grid stable,even if one line is ***,we also propose a topology reversion to the original grid,which proved to be *** improvements are tested against reference approaches on the challenge test sets and are able to increase the performance of the rule-based agent by 27%.In direct comparison between rule-based and RL agent we find similar ***,the RL agent has a clear computational *** also analyse the behaviour in an exemplary case in more detail to provide additional ***,we observe that through the N-1 strategy,the actions of both the rule-based and the RL agent become more diversified.

Several representative studies on China＇s carbon emission scenarios in 2050 are compared in scenario settings, methodologies, macro parameters, energy consumption and structure, carbon emissions, and carbon emission intensity. Under the baseline scenario of the present policy framework, the future energy structure will be optimized and carbon emission intensity will decrease continually. China＇s carbon emissions up to 2050 show a significant increase reaching between 11.9 Gt and 16.2 Gt CO2 in 2050. By strengthening a low carbon policy, the optimization of energy structure and the decline in carbon emission intensity will become more obvious within the comparative scenarios, which show a significant decrease in carbon emission until 2050 reaching only between 4.3 Gt and 9.5 Gt CO2 bv then.

This paper presents results from a series of stress-controlled undrained cyclic triaxial tests on the undisturbed marine silty clay,silt,and fine sand soils obtained from the Bohai Sea,*** is placed on the major factors for predominating the dynamic shear modulus(G)and damping ratio(λ)in the shear strain amplitude(γ_(a))from 10^(-5) to 10^(-2),involving depth,sedimentary facies types,and water content of marine *** empirical equations of the small-strain shear modulus(G_(max))and damping ratio(λ_(min))using a single-variable of depth H are established for the three marine soils.A remarkable finding is that the curves of shear modulus reduction(G/G_(max))and the damping ratio(λ)with increasing γ_(a) of the three marine soils can be simply determined through a set of explicit expressions with the two variables of depth H and water content *** finding is validated by independent experimental data from the *** the similar depths,the G value of the marine soils of terrestrial facies is the largest,followed b_(y) the neritic facies,and the G value of the marine soils of abyssal facies is the *** sedimentary facies types of the marine soils have slight effect on theλ*** significant finding is that the shear modulus reduction curves plotted against the γ_(a) of the three marine soils at the similar depths are significantly below those of the corresponding terrigenous soils,while the damping curves plotted against γ_(a) are just the *** results presented in this paper serve as a worthful reference for the evaluation of seabed seismic site effects in the Bohai Sea due to lack of experimental data.

Recent advances in thermochemical storage technology have introduced a novel closed-loop thermal energy storage(TES)system,known as the heat battery(HB),which is believed to have great potential for aiding the energy transition in the built environment because of its higher energy density and neglectable storage loss compared to conventional TES *** order to investigate the potential use cases of the HB and provide practical feedback for its further development,this research employs a simulation-based approach to analyze its influence on building performance in various use cases within Dutch residential *** including the homeowner,distribution system operator,and district heating system operator are identified,and a preliminary list of use cases is defined based on relevant literature and input from the HB *** simulation approach is conducted to predict key performance indicators for each *** Kruskal-Wallis test was employed to sort and scrutinize the simulation outcomes and discern the significance of each use case *** findings demonstrated that the HB holds the potential to diminish both the operational energy cost by up to 30%for the homeowners and the peak heating load transmitted from the building to the district heating system.
