Nonparametric Statistical Feature Scaling Based Quadratic Regressive Convolution Deep Neural Network for Software Fault Prediction

The development of defect prediction plays a significant role in improving software quality. Such predictions are used to identify defective modules before the testing and to minimize the time and cost. The software with defects negatively impacts operational costs and finally affects customer satisfaction. Numerous approaches exist to predict software defects. However, the timely and accurate software bugs are the major challenging issues. To improve the timely and accurate software defect prediction, a novel technique called Nonparametric Statistical feature scaled QuAdratic regressive convolution Deep nEural Network (SQADEN) is introduced. The proposed SQADEN technique mainly includes two major processes namely metric or feature selection and classification. First, the SQADEN uses the nonparametric statistical Torgerson–Gower scaling technique for identifying the relevant software metrics by measuring the similarity using the dice coefficient. The feature selection process is used to minimize the time complexity of software fault prediction. With the selected metrics, software fault perdition with the help of the Quadratic Censored regressive convolution deep neural network-based classification. The deep learning classifier analyzes the training and testing samples using the contingency correlation coefficient. The softstep activation function is used to provide the final fault prediction results. To minimize the error, the Nelder–Mead method is applied to solve non-linear least-squares problems. Finally, accurate classification results with a minimum error are obtained at the output layer. Experimental evaluation is carried out with different quantitative metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, and time complexity. The analyzed results demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed SQADEN technique with maximum accuracy, sensitivity and specificity by 3%, 3%, 2% and 3% and minimum time and space by 13% and 15% when compared with the two sta

Analog spatiotemporal feature extraction for cognitive radio-frequency sensing with integrated photonics

Analog feature extraction(AFE)is an appealing strategy for low-latency and efficient cognitive sensing systems since key features are much sparser than the Nyquist-sampled ***,applying AFE to broadband radio-frequency(RF)scenarios is challenging due to the bandwidth and programmability bottlenecks of analog electronic ***,we introduce a photonics-based scheme that extracts spatiotemporal features from broadband RF signals in the analog *** feature extractor structure inspired by convolutional neural networks is implemented on integrated photonic circuits to process RF signals from multiple antennas,extracting valid features from both temporal and spatial *** of the tunability of the photonic devices,the photonic spatiotemporal feature extractor is trainable,which enhances the validity of the extracted ***,a digital-analog-hybrid transfer learning method is proposed for the effective and low-cost training of the photonic feature *** validate our scheme,we demonstrate a radar target recognition task with a 4-GHz instantaneous *** results indicate that the photonic analog feature extractor tackles broadband RF signals and reduces the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converters to 1/4 of the Nyquist sampling while maintaining a high target recognition accuracy of 97.5%.Our scheme offers a promising path for exploiting the AFE strategy in the realm of cognitive RF sensing,with the potential to contribute to the efficient signal processing involved in applications such as autonomous driving,robotics,and smart factories.

With the increase of the number of agents in multi-agent systems and the rapid increase of the complexity of the overall structure of the system,the fault detection and diagnosis work has brought great *** have carried out considerable research work on fault detection and diagnosis of multi-agent systems,but there is no research on fault state estimation and diagnosis based on the information and state of the whole multi-agent *** on the global perspective of information geometry theory,this paper presents two new physical quantities of the information manifold of multi-agent systems,as Lagrangian and energy–momentum tensor,to express the state of the overall information of multi-agent systems,and to characterize the energy state and development trend of *** this paper,two new physical parameters are introduced into the research of multi-agent fault detection and diagnosis,and the fault state and trend of multi-agent system are evaluated from the global perspective,which provides more comprehensive theoretical support for designing more scientific and reasonable fault diagnosis and fault recovery *** of the application example confirms the competitive performance of the proposed method.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication plays a fundamental role in autonomous IoT (Internet of Things)-based infrastructure, a vital part of the fourth industrial revolution. Machine-type communication devices(MTCDs) regularly share extensive data without human intervention while making all types of decisions. Thesedecisions may involve controlling sensitive ventilation systems maintaining uniform temperature, live heartbeatmonitoring, and several different alert systems. Many of these devices simultaneously share data to form anautomated system. The data shared between machine-type communication devices (MTCDs) is prone to risk dueto limited computational power, internal memory, and energy capacity. Therefore, securing the data and devicesbecomes challenging due to factors such as dynamic operational environments, remoteness, harsh conditions,and areas where human physical access is difficult. One of the crucial parts of securing MTCDs and data isauthentication, where each devicemust be verified before data transmission. SeveralM2Mauthentication schemeshave been proposed in the literature, however, the literature lacks a comprehensive overview of current M2Mauthentication techniques and the challenges associated with them. To utilize a suitable authentication schemefor specific scenarios, it is important to understand the challenges associated with it. Therefore, this article fillsthis gap by reviewing the state-of-the-art research on authentication schemes in MTCDs specifically concerningapplication categories, security provisions, and performance efficiency.

Bed inventory balance and stability of dual circulating fluidized bed systems

Experiments and modelling are conducted for general understanding on the imbalance phenomenon and for discussion on the strategies to improve the bed inventory balance and stability of a dual circulating fluidized bed(DCFB)*** experiments are carried out in a 15.5 m high pilot-scale DCFB cold test system.A fluid-dynamic DCFB model is developed based on a 1.5-dimensional semi-empirical model of an industrial CFB boiler,validated by experimental *** effects of control methods and operation conditions on the bed inventory balance and on the stability of the pilot-and large-scale DCFB systems are discussed.A"stable-unbalanced"state,where the system reaches a steady state,consisting of un-balanced bed inventories,is observed in both experiments and model *** maintain a balanced state and similar bed inventory in the DCFB systems with similar cross-sectional areas,it is recom-mended to keep similar total pressure drops or gas velocities in both reactors.

A LESO Based Backstepping Controller Considering Coal Seam Hardness for Rotary Speed in Coal Mine Tunnel Drilling Process

In the process of coal mine drilling, controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of drilling. In this paper, a linear extended state observer(LESO) based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed, which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary speed. Firstly, the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig's rotary system is considered for the first time, which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque, and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is established. Then an LESO is designed to observe the load torque, and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam hardness. Based on the model of the compensated system, a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary speed. Finally, the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments, the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min, and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%. This greatly improves the stability and security, which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

Comparative CFD-DEM study of flow regimes in spout-fluid beds

Spout-fluid beds are unique systems that require thorough study prior to their industrial *** this study,the hydrodynamics of spout-fluid beds were investigated using 3D computational fluid dy-namics coupled with discrete element method(CFD-DEM).Three flow regimes,including jet-in-fluidized bed,spouting-with-aeration,and intermediate/spout-fluidization were studied,and the particle mixing was quantified in these regimes using the Lacey mixing *** results showed that both axial and lateral mixing rates are better in jet-in-fluidized bed and the spouting-with-aeration flow regimes,with the axial mixing being superior to the lateral in all flow *** the diffusivity coefficient revealed that mixing in the jet-in-fluidized bed flow regime is better due to the formation and eruption of bubbles in the ***,the granular temperature was analyzed in all flow regimes,and higher particle velocity fluctuations were observed in the spouting-with-aeration and the jet-in-fluidized bed flow regimes due to the higher spout gas velocity and formation of bubbles in the *** study provides valuable insights into the hydrodynamics of spout-fluid beds in different flow regimes,which can aid in the design and optimization of spout-fluid bed reactors for various industrial applications.

Point Cloud Classification Using Content-Based Transformer via Clustering in Feature space

Recently, there have been some attempts of Transformer in 3D point cloud classification. In order to reduce computations, most existing methods focus on local spatial attention,but ignore their content and fail to establish relationships between distant but relevant points. To overcome the limitation of local spatial attention, we propose a point content-based Transformer architecture, called PointConT for short. It exploits the locality of points in the feature space(content-based), which clusters the sampled points with similar features into the same class and computes the self-attention within each class, thus enabling an effective trade-off between capturing long-range dependencies and computational complexity. We further introduce an inception feature aggregator for point cloud classification, which uses parallel structures to aggregate high-frequency and low-frequency information in each branch separately. Extensive experiments show that our PointConT model achieves a remarkable performance on point cloud shape classification. Especially, our method exhibits 90.3% Top-1 accuracy on the hardest setting of ScanObjectN N. Source code of this paper is available at https://***/yahuiliu99/PointC onT.

High-resolution tsunami hazard assessment for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area based on a non-hydrostatic tsunami model

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA)is threatened by potential tsunami hazards from the Littoral Fault Zone(LFZ)and the Manila subduction zone(MSZ),and may suffer huge damage because of its dense population,concentrated infrastructure,and low-lying *** tsunami studies for the GBA made simple assumptions on the mechanisms of LFZ earthquakes,and used coarse bathymetry data in tsunami simulation,which limited the prediction of detailed tsunami hazard *** this paper,we develop a parallel dispersive tsunami model PCOMCOT to efficiently simulate dispersive,nonlinear,and breaking tsunami *** also construct large-scale and high-resolution bathymetry models for the GBA by correcting and integrating various data *** rupture simulation is performed for the LFZ to obtain a more reliable earthquake source *** propose several representative earthquake scenarios for the LFZ and MSZ,and use PCOMCOT to calculate the resulting tsunami waves,currents,and inundation in the *** results indicate that if an M_(w)7.5 oblique-slip earthquake occurs in the LFZ off the Pearl River Estuary(PRE),the subsequent tsunami will primarily impact Hong Kong,causing maximum positive and negative waves of around 1 m and -2 m,respectively,along with slightly destructive currents(≥1.5 m/s).An M_(w)9.0 MSZ megathrust earthquake can lead to widespread inundation with>1 m depth on the outlying islands of Macao and in the urban areas of Hong Kong around the Victoria ***,it will also cause catastrophic tsunami currents along the narrow waterways in Hong Kong and Macao,and the spatial distribution of strong currents(≥3 m/s)shows a considerable discrepancy from the areas of serious ***,more attention should be paid to the potential impacts of tsunami currents on the GBA.
