Metal oxide semiconductors(MOSs) are ideal sensing materials for detecting volatile organic compounds due to their low cost, diversity, high stability, and ease of production. However, it remains a grand challenge to develop the MOSs-based gas sensors for sensing isopropanol with desired performance via a simple, effective,and controllable method. Herein, we reported the preparation of the Al-doped Zn O(AZO)/WO_(3) heterostructure films by directly depositing the AZO coating onto the WO_(3) coating using a strategy of magnetron sputtering. The AZO/WO_(3) heterostructure films were constructed by numbers of irregular nanoparticles that were interconnected with each other. The AZO/WO_(3) heterostructure films-based gas sensors exhibited excellent isopropanolsensing performance with high response, promising selectivity, low detection limit, fast response rate, wide detection range, and ideal reproducibility. The promising isopropanol-sensing performance of the AZO/WO_(3) heterostructure films arises mainly from their high uniformity, unique microstructures with high surface roughness,and the construction of the heterostructure between the AZO and WO_(3) coatings. This work provides a versatile approach to prepare the MOSs-based heterostructure films for assembling the gas sensors.

Accelerating the breaking of the nitrogen nonpolar bond(N≡N)is an important factor to improve the effi ciency of the electro-catalytic nitrogen reduction reaction(e-NRR).In this work,polyoxometalates-derived FeMo-based ternary oxide materials MoO_(2)-Mo_(4)O_(11)-FeMoO_(4)@X(abbreviated as MoFeO@X,X represents the synthesis temperature of 650,750 and 850℃)were designed and synthesized for e-NRR under ambient *** scanning electron microscopy images of MoFeO@750 show an ellipsoidal-like structure(0.86×0.6μm).The relatively large specifi c surface area,formation of multiple interfaces,together with the synergistic eff ect of iron and molybdenum bimetals,would make MoFeO@X catalyst more easily absorb and activate N_(2)in the ***,the synthesized MoFeO@750 shows an optimal NH_(3)production rate of 16.57μg·h^(−1)·mg cat.^(−1)and Faradaic effi ciency of 12.33%at−0.3 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(ν***),with outstanding electrochemical and structural stability.

The A_(2)B_(2)O_(7)-type rare earth zirconate compounds have been considered as promising candidates for thermal barrier coating(TBC) materials because of their low sintering rate,improved phase stability,and reduced thermal conductivity in contrast with the currently used yttria-partially stabilized zirconia (YSZ) in high operating temperature *** review summarizes the recent progress on rare earth zirconates for TBCs that insulate high-temperature gas from hot-section components in gas *** on the first principles,molecular dynamics,and new data-driven calculation approaches,doping and high-entropy strategies have now been adopted in advanced TBC materials *** this paper,the solid-state heat transfer mechanism of TBCs is explained from two aspects,including heat conduction over the full operating temperature range and thermal radiation at medium and high *** paper also provides new insights into design considerations of adaptive TBC materials,and the challenges and potential breakthroughs are further highlighted for extreme environmental *** for improving thermophysical performance are proposed in two approaches:defect engineering and material compositing.

Effect of kerosene injection states on mixing and combustion characteristics in a cavity-based supersonic combustor

It has been found that the static pressure distribution along the axial direction of liquid kerosene is lower than that of the gaseous kerosene under the same flow condition and overall equivalent ratio from previous *** further investigate this phenomenon,a compressible two-phase parallel simulation method is utilized to analyze the mixing and combustion characteristics of gaseous and liquid kerosene jets in a cavity-based supersonic *** numerical results are consistent with the experiments and demonstrate that gaseous injection leads to a cavity shear layer that dives deeper into the cavity,forming two recirculation zones in the front and rear of the *** contrast,the cavity shear layer is closer to the mainstream during liquid injection,and only a large recirculation zone is formed in the rear of the *** a result of the cavity shear layer and the recirculating flow,the fuel vapor of gaseous injection accumulates in the front of the cavity,while for the liquid injection,the fuel vapor disperses in the cavity,cavity shear layer,and the region above,and the rear of the cavity has a higher fuel vapor concentration than the *** unique fuel distribution causes the combustion area to be concentrated in the cavity during the gaseous injection but dispersed inside and downstream of the cavity during the liquid *** a result,forming a thermal throat under the same conditions is more challenging during liquid injection,and the generated static pressure distribution is lower than that during the gaseous injection.

Hydrogen is now being used as a renewable clean energy *** of the main issues with the application of hydrogen energy is a shortage of security and efficient hydrogen storage ***-based alloys are considered promising hydrogen storage materials,but their comprehensive hydrogen storage properties and cyclic stable performance limit their further practical *** hydrogen storage properties of alloys can be enhanced by substituting transition metal ***,the comprehensive hydrogen storage performance of the Ti0.9Zr0.1Mn0.95Cr0.7V0.2M0.15（M=Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Mo） alloys was systematically investigated according to the Mn element on the B side is partially replaced by variety of transition metal *** M=Ni alloy,which showed the highest hydrogen storage capacity among the group of alloys,was used to explore cycle *** plateau pressures of the series alloys decreased in order,Fe>Co>Ni>Cu>*** of hydrogen absorption kinetics,all of the alloys can reach full hydrogen absorption saturation within 400 s at 303 *** Ti0.9Zr0.1Mn0.95Cr0.7V0.2Mo0.15alloy possessed the fastest hydrogen absorption kinetic rate(t0.9=65 s) and the smallest hysteresis *** suggests that the substitution of Mo elements is effective in improving the hysteresis of the Laves phase *** the series of alloys,the M=Ni alloy exhibited the best overall hydrogen storage performance,which hydrogen storage capacity can reach 1.81 wt% and 97% of its capacity is kept after 100 cycles.

Bipolar membranes(BPMs)exhibit the unique capability to regulate the operating environment of electrochemical system through the water dissociation-combination ***,the industrial utilization of BPMs is limited by instability and serious energy *** current-induced membrane discharge(CIMD)at high-current conditions has a negative influence on the performance of anion-exchange membranes,but the underlying ion transport mechanisms in the BPMs remain ***,the CIMD-coupled Poisson-Nernst-Planck(PNP)equations are used to explore the ion transport mechanisms in the BPMs for both reverse bias and forward bias at neutral and acid-base *** is demonstrated that the CIMD effect in the reverse-bias mode can be suppressed by enhancing the diffusive transport of salt counter-ions(Na^(+)and Cl^(−))into the BPMs,and that in the forward-bias mode with acid-base electrolytes can be suppressed by matching the transport rate of water counter-ions(H_(3)O^(+)and OH^(−)).Suppressing the CIMD can promote the water dissociation in the reverse-bias mode,as well as overcome the plateau of limiting current density and reduce the interfacial blockage of salt co-ions(Cl^(−))in the anion-exchange layer in the forward-bias mode with acid-base *** work highlights the importance of regulating ion crossover transport on improving the performance of BPMs.

Mode splitters that directly separate modes without changing their orders are highly promising to improve the flexibility of the mode-division multiplexing *** this paper,we design a high-performance mode splitter on the silicon-oninsulator platform with a compact footprint of 14μm×2.5μm using an inverse design method based on shape *** fabrication of this mode splitter requires only a single lithography step and exhibits good fabrication *** experimental results show that the proposed device exhibits state-of-the-art insertion loss(<0.9 dB)and cross talk(<-16 dB)over a broad bandwidth(1500-1600 nm).Furthermore,the shape optimization method used is implemented to design a dual-mode(de)multiplexer,and the experimental results fulfill the design objective,demonstrating the excellent generality of the design method in this paper.

Accurate prediction of Shock-Wave/Boundary Layer Interaction(SWBLI)flows has been a persistent challenge for linear eddy viscosity models.A major limitation lies in the isotropic representation of the Reynolds stress,as assumed under the Boussinesq *** studies have shown promise in improving the prediction capability for incompressible separation flows by perturbing the Reynolds-stress anisotropy ***,it remains uncertain whether this approach is effective for SWBLI flows,which involve compressibility and *** address this issue,this study systematically quantifies the structural uncertainty of the anisotropy for oblique SWBLI *** eigenspace perturbation method is applied to perturb the anisotropy tensor predicted by the Menter Shear–Stress Transport(SST)model and reveal the impacts of anisotropy on the prediction of quantities of interest,such as separation and reattachment positions,wall static pressure,skin friction,and heat *** results demonstrate the potential and reveal the challenges of eigenspace perturbation in improving the SST ***,a detailed analysis of turbulent characteristics is performed to identify the source of *** findings indicate that eigenspace perturbation primarily affects turbulent shear stress,while the prediction error of the SST model is more related to turbulent kinetic energy.
