A series of polymeric ionic liquids(PILs)used as effective heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production via esterification of free fatty acids(FFAs)were effectively prepared by the reaction of poly(ethylene imine)(PEI)polymers with different molecular weight and 1,3-propanesultone,followed by the further acidification with differential effective acids,i.e.H2SO4,CF3SO3H,CH3SO3H or p-toluenesulfonic acid(p-TSA).Ultrahigh acidity and catalytic performance were achieved and could be fine-tuned by simply adjusting the molecular weight of PEI and by further treatment of ***,under the optimal conditions(*** temperature was 70℃,reaction time was 2.0 h,catalyst dosage was 3.15%(mass),and alcohol/acid molar ratio was 14:1)acquired through the Box-BEHNKEN response surface methodology,a high oleic acid conversion of 98.42%could be obtained over the optimal PIL,PEI(70000)-***,our PILs also showed high generality for esterification of other FFAs,with general high conversion over 90%noted in each case even under much milder reaction conditions compared to other conventional catalysts.

The effects of different levels of CaCl 2 on photosynthesis under low night temperature（8°C） stress in peanuts were studied in order to find out the appropriate concentration of Ca2＋through the artificial climate chamber potted culture *** results indicated that Ca2＋,by means of improving the stomatal conductivity of peanut leaves under low night temperature stress,may mitigate the decline of photosynthetic rate in the peanut *** regulation with 15 mmol L-1CaCl 2（Ca15） was the most effective,compared with other ***,the improvement of Ca2＋on peanut photosynthesis under low night temperature stress was validated further through spraying with Ca15,Ca2＋chelator（ethylene glycol bis（2-aminoethyl） tetraacetic acid; EGTA） and calmodulin antagonists（trifluonerazine; TFP）.And CaM（Ca2＋-modulin） played an important role in the nutritional signal transduction for Ca2＋mitigating photosynthesis limitations in peanuts under low night temperature stress.

A particle-particle(p-p)drag model is extended to cohesive particle flow by introducing solid surface energy to characterize cohesive collision energy *** effects of the proportion of cohesive particles on the mixing of binary particles were numerically investigated with the use of a Eulerian multiphase flow model incorporating the p-p drag *** bed expansion,mixing,and segregation of Geldart-A and C particles were simulated with varying superficial velocities and Geldart-C particle proportions,from which we found that the p-p drag model can reasonably predict bed expansion of binary *** segregation types of jetsam-mixture-flotsam and mixture-flotsam processes were observed during the fluidization processes for the Geldart-A and C binary particle *** mixing processes of the binary particle system can be divided into three scales:macro-scale mixing,meso-scale mixing,and micro-scale *** a constant superficial velocity the optimal mixing was observed for a certain cohesive particle proportion.

The estimation of shear strength of rock mass discontinuity is always a focal, but difficult, problem in the field of geotechnical engineering. Considering the disadvantages and limitation of exist- ing estimation methods, a new approach based on the shadow area percentage （SAP） that can be used to quantify surface roughness is proposed in this article. Firstly, by the help of laser scanning technique, the three-dimensional model of the surface of rock discontinuity was established. Secondly, a light source was simulated, and there would be some shadows produced on the model surface. Thirdly, to obtain the value of SAP of each specimen, the shadow detection technique was introduced for use. Fourthly, compared with the result from direct shear testing and based on statistics, an empirical for- mula was found among SAP, normal stress, and shear strength. Data of Yujian （~ River were used as an example, and the following conclusions have been made. （1） In the case of equal normal stress, the peak shear stress is positively proportional to the SAP. （2） The formula for estimating was derived, and the predictions of peak-shear strength made with this equation well agreed with the experimental re- suits obtained in laboratory tests.

Climate change and groundwater resources in Thailand

The average temperature of Thailand is projected to increase by 2-3 °C, and the annual rainfall is projected to increase by 25% and up to 50% in certain areas. The climate change in future is expected to provide changes in hydrological cycle and therefore impacts the groundwater resources too. In this study, we analyzed the general climate change trends and reviewed the groundwater conditions of Thailand. The climate changes, hydrologic variability and the impact of climate change on groundwater sustainability are also discussed based on a national groundwater monitoring program. Currently, there are 864 groundwater monitoring stations and 1 524 monitoring wells installed in Thailand. Moreover, the impact of climate change on groundwater-dependent systems and sectors is also discussed according to certain case studies, such as saline water intrusion in coastal and inland areas. Managing aquifer recharge and other projects are examples of groundwater adaptation project for the future.

Screening and Analysis of Proteins Interacting with TaPDK from Physiological Male Sterility Induced by CHA in Wheat

To further research the regulatory network of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase （designated as TaPDK） in physiological male-sterility （PHYMS） of wheat induced by chemical hybridizing agent （CHA） SQ-1, an anther cDNA library was constructed, and the proteins interacting with TaPDK were screened via yeast two-hybrid technique. Subsequently, a few candidate proteins in nucleotide expression levels were detected by real-time quantitative PCR. Yeast-two hybrid screening was performed by mating yeast strain Y2HGold containing BD-TaPDK bait plasmid with yeast strain Y187 including anther cDNA library plasmid. Diploid yeast cells were plated on synthetic dropout nutrient medium （SD/-Ade/-His/-Leu/-Trp）（QDO）, and further were incubated on QDO medium containing AbA and X-α-Gal. The interactions between TaPDK and the proteins obtained from positive colonies were further confirmed by co-transformation validation. After plasmids DNA were extracted from blue colonies and sequenced, the sequences results were analyzed by bioinformatic methods. Finally, 24 colonies were obtained, including eight genes, namely non-specific lipid-transfer protein precursor （TanLTP）, polyubiquitin （TaPUbi）, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, proliferating cell nuclear antigen （TaPCNA）, CBS domain containing protein （TaCBS）, actin, guanine nucleotide-binding protein beta subunit, chalcone synthase, and three new genes with unknown function. The results of quantitative RT-PCR showed that the expression levels of TanLTP, TaPUbi, and TaPCNA were obviously up-regulated in PHYMS anther, and TaCBS expression was only increased at the tricellular stage in PHYMS anther compared with in fertile lines. Whereas, the expression of TaPDK was obviously down-regulated in PHYMS lines. Collectively, these datas indicated that the majority of candidate proteins might be related to pollen abortion in PHYMS lines, which further suggested that TaPDK plays multiple roles in pollen development, besides participating in r

BACKGROUND： The resection and reconstruction of large vessels, including the portal vein, are frequently needed in tumor resection. Warm ischemia before reconstruction might have deleterious effects on the function of some vital organs and therefore, how to reconstruct the vessels quickly after resection is extremely important. The present study was to introduce a new type of magnetic compression anastomosis （MCA） device to establish a quick non-suture anastomosis of the portal vein after resection in canines.

The constant m_(i) in the Hoek-Brown(H-B) criterion is a fundamental parameter required for determining the compressive strength of rock. In this paper, drilling parameters provide a new basis for determining the constant mi. An analytical relationship between the drilling parameters and constant miis established in consideration of the contact response between the drilling bit and the cut rock in the crushed *** models are developed to predict the triaxial compressive strength(TCS), internal friction angle φand cohesion c of rock. Drilling tests are carried out on 6 rock types to study the correlation between φ and m_(i). A comparison between the predicted values of rock mechanical properties and the measured values from the laboratory is performed to verify the accuracy of the proposed model(yielding an error less than 10%). The TCSs and constant m_(i) values of fifteen rocks are cited to validate the accuracy of the proposed model. The result shows that the proposed model predicts the TCS and constant m_(i) within a maximum error of 20%. The method can be conveniently applied to the rock mechanical properties.
