Development Program of Chemical Industry Based Computer Assisted Instruction for Students of Industrial engineering department in Indonesia

This study aims to improve the competence of students of the department of Industrial engineering in Indonesia in the subject of Chemical Industry, in particular through the model-based teaching materials CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) in the form of an interactive CD. In particular, the study was carried out for the purposes of: 1) designing and developing models of devices based learning CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) systematically in prototype form, 2) producing an interactive CD as a model learning devices Chemical Industry based CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) to improve the competence of students of the department of Industrial engineering in Industrial chemistry courses. The benefits of this research are: 1) for the government, the results of this study can be used as a reference in implementing educational policies, especially to enhance the nation’s competitiveness in the era of informatics;and 2) for the department of Industrial engineering in Indonesia, the results of this research can be used to enhance learning that can improve the competence of students in the subject of Chemical Industry, which in turn can be passed with high achievement. Products produced in the first year are a design-based teaching materials CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) in prototype form, with the following steps: 1) pre- production which includes needs analysis, identifying and analyzing the needs based on the content of curriculum and learning model based CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction), the development of a concept related to Chemical Industry, the development of multimedia content that includes developing materials, animation, and evaluation related to industrial chemicals, gathering material to make the recording sound, shooting, and editing with regard to the development of teaching materials chemical Industry based CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction), as well as developing the storyboard as the layout of the multimedia contents by involving experts

Dynamic stress concentration in an infinitely long cylindrical cavity due to a point spherical source embedded within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Innovative pilot-scale process for sustainable rare earth oxide production from coal byproducts:A comprehensive environmental impact assessment

This study developed a pilot-scale process feeding with two different materials resulting from a column leaching process and acid mine drainage（AMD） streams to recover rare earth elements（REEs）.A life cycle assessment（LCA） study was done to evaluate the environmental impacts of rare earth production from deleterious material in the form of highly contaminated leachate（HCL） and low-contaminated leachate（LCL）.The results indicate that the main contributors to environmental categories that produce RE-hydroxide stages are NaOH and ***,oxalic acid,Na2CO3,and hydrochloric acid significantly contribute to the production stage of individual rare earth oxides（REOs）,including solvent extraction（SX） and precipitation *** HCL route has higher environmental impacts than LCL due to higher chemical/energy and H2SO4usage,so 468 and 292 kg of carbon dioxide are generated to produce1 t of individual REOs from HCL and LCL routes,***,the carbon dioxide emitted from the process,including the RE-hydroxide production,SX,and REOs production,is less than 10 t CO2.A sensitivity analysis was also performed to assess the changeability of the environmental footprints of the main inputs in the SX process,as the main stage has a higher contribution to the whole *** LCA study is the first step toward understanding the environmental influence of new processing methods to produce REEs from coal by-products through a developed pilot-scale process.

Comparative Evaluation and Performance Analysis of Heat Exchangers Featured with Peened Surface

Heat exchangers have the potential for various engineering applications,and their performance is enriched by surface *** proposed system enriches the heat exchanger's performance by adapting a peened stainless steel(SS)surface blasted with copper,grinding,sand,and *** influences peened SS surface modified with a copper blast,grinding,sandblast,and iron blast on the surface morphology of shell and tube heat exchanger surface(STHE)is analyzed via tungsten heated cathode electron gun featured scanning electron microscope and observed coarse grain *** SS surface featured STHE performance is experimentally evaluated by different flow rates(30,60,90,and 120 L/min)underwater fluid medium functioned by the temperature ranges of 25-75℃ and its results are compared with computational fluid dynamic(CFD)/heat transfer research(HTRI)analyzed *** 60 L/min flow rate was spotted as an optimum value for both shell and tube side *** STHE is operated with a 60 L/min flow rate under the different peened surfaces and evaluated its Stanton number,Nusselt number,logarithmic mean temperature difference(LMTD),overall heat transfer coefficient,number of transfer units(NTU),effectiveness,and exergy *** iron blasted SS peened surface was observed to have better SHTE performance like Stanton number(0.0012),Nusselt number(2180),reduced LMTD of 31℃,improved overall heat transfer co-efficient of 2400 W/(m^(2)·K),better NTU of 0.5532,good effectiveness value of 0.45162,and hiked exergy efficiency of 10% respectively.

Logic-in-memory cell enabling binary and ternary Boolean logics

In computing systems, processing and memory units have been integrated into logic-in-memory(LiM) to enhance the computational efficiency and performance. LiM has been attempted to perform not only binary but also ternary logic functions, which reduces computing complexity. Herein, we demonstrate a binary and ternary LiM(BT-LiM) cell with eight triple-gated(TG) feedback field-effect transistors(FBFETs) reconfigured into n-or p-channel modes. The TG FBFETs exhibit symmetrical latch-up voltages and an on-current ratio of 1.02 between the n-and p-channel modes, which indicates a high potential for reconfigurable logic applications. The BT-LiM cell can perform YES, NOT, AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XNOR, and XOR logic functions in a single cell because of these reconfigurable characteristics. Further, binary and ternary logic functions are realized in the cell without a programming stage, and the cell maintains the results of the logic functions under zero-bias conditions. This study achieves multifunctional LiM that can operate all binary and ternary Boolean logics.

Dynamic Multi-Graph Spatio-Temporal Graph Traffic Flow Prediction in Bangkok:An Application of a Continuous Convolutional Neural Network

The ability to accurately predict urban traffic flows is crucial for optimising city ***,various methods for forecasting urban traffic have been developed,focusing on analysing historical data to understand complex mobility *** learning techniques,such as graph neural networks(GNNs),are popular for their ability to capture spatio-temporal ***,these models often become overly complex due to the large number of hyper-parameters *** this study,we introduce Dynamic Multi-Graph Spatial-Temporal Graph Neural Ordinary Differential Equation Networks(DMST-GNODE),a framework based on ordinary differential equations(ODEs)that autonomously discovers effective spatial-temporal graph neural network(STGNN)architectures for traffic prediction *** comparative analysis of DMST-GNODE and baseline models indicates that DMST-GNODE model demonstrates superior performance across multiple datasets,consistently achieving the lowest Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)values,alongside the highest *** the BKK(Bangkok)dataset,it outperformed other models with an RMSE of 3.3165 and an accuracy of 0.9367 for a 20-min interval,maintaining this trend across 40 and 60 ***,on the PeMS08 dataset,DMST-GNODE achieved the best performance with an RMSE of 19.4863 and an accuracy of 0.9377 at 20 min,demonstrating its effectiveness over longer *** Los_Loop dataset results further emphasise this model’s advantage,with an RMSE of 3.3422 and an accuracy of 0.7643 at 20 min,consistently maintaining superiority across all time *** numerical highlights indicate that DMST-GNODE not only outperforms baseline models but also achieves higher accuracy and lower errors across different time intervals and datasets.

Analysis of Nuclear Structure Properties and Stellar β-decay Rates of Even–Even 106–120Zr Isotopes

The nuclear ground state properties of even–even106–120Zr nuclei have been investigated within the framework of the relativistic mean field （RMF） *** RMF model with density-dependent DDME2 and DDPC1interactions is utilized for the calculation of potential energy curves,the nuclear ground-state deformation parameters （β2）,neutron separation energies (S_nand S2n) and neutron skin thickness (rnp) of selected Zr ***,the β-decay properties of Zr isotopes were studied using the proton-neutron quasi-particle random phase approximation （pn-QRPA） *** include Gamow–Teller strength distributions,β-decay half-lives and stellar electron emission/positron capture *** β2values computed from the RMF model were employed in the pn-QRPA model as an input parameter for the calculations of β-decay properties for even–even106–120Zr *** stellar rates were computed using the pn-QRPA framework with three different types of deformation *** at high temperature （T9≥2） and low density (ρYe≤10～7g cm-3) values,the sum of electron emission and positron capture rates has a sizeable contribution （with positive exponents） to the stellar rates.

Effects of bidirectional interaction on inelastic seismic response:When is its effect significant?

Motivated by the early works on bidirectional interaction and the breakthrough to estimate seismic response to bidirectional shaking via unidirectional analysis,it is essential to answer the question:When is the interaction effect significant?Early works concluded that the effect of interaction is pronounced for stiff systems;consequently,the straightforward method for estimating seismic response to bidirectional excitation by using unidirectional analyses is verified primarily for short period ***,it is essential to identify the domain of significance for bidirectional interaction before adopting this simple methodology in *** parametrically defined systems with elastoplastic and degrading hysteresis models are studied under near-fault motions,assuming strength-independent and strength-dependent *** force-based and displacement-based analyses,conducted in parallel,reveal that the interaction effect is considerable for stiff systems,especially with degrading characteristics in a relatively low inelasticity ***,the bidirectional effect may be significant even for highly flexible systems,especially for residual deformation,which in earlier works was *** range of significance depends on the hysteresis model,system parameters,and response *** analysis is carried out with the results of the case studies,and the derived regression models may be used for a preliminary assessment of the impact of interaction in advance.

RGB Color-Discriminable Photonic Synapse for Neuromorphic Vision System

To emulate the functionality of the human retina and achieve a neuromorphic visual system,the development of a photonic synapse capable of multispectral color discrimination is of paramount ***,attaining robust color discrimination across a wide intensity range,even irrespective of medium limitations in the channel layer,poses a significant ***,we propose an approach that can bestow the color-discriminating synaptic functionality upon a three-terminal transistor flash memory even with enhanced discriminating *** incorporating the strong induced dipole moment effect at the excitation,modulated by the wavelength of the incident light,into the floating gate,we achieve outstanding RGB color-discriminating synaptic functionality within a remarkable intensity range spanning from 0.05 to 40 mW cm^(-2).This approach is not restricted to a specific medium in the channel layer,thereby enhancing its *** effectiveness of this color-discriminating synaptic functionality is demonstrated through visual pre-processing of a photonic synapse array,involving the differentiation of RGB channels and the enhancement of image contrast with noise ***,a convolutional neural network can achieve an impressive inference accuracy of over 94%for Canadian-Institute-For-Advanced-Research-10 colorful image recognition task after the *** proposed approach offers a promising solution for achieving robust and versatile RGB color discrimination in photonic synapses,enabling significant advancements in artificial visual systems.

Intelligent integrated sensing and communication:a survey

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is a promising technique to increase spectral efficiency and support various emerging applications by sharing the spectrum and hardware between these functionalities. However, the traditional ISAC schemes are highly dependent on the accurate mathematical model and suffer from the challenges of high complexity and poor performance in practical scenarios. Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a viable technique to address these issues due to its powerful learning capabilities, satisfactory generalization capability, fast inference speed, and high adaptability for dynamic environments, facilitating a system design shift from model-driven to data-driven. Intelligent ISAC, which integrates AI into ISAC, has been a hot topic that has attracted many researchers to investigate. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive overview of intelligent ISAC, including its motivation, typical applications, recent trends, and challenges. In particular, we first introduce the basic principle of ISAC, followed by its key techniques. Then, an overview of AI and a comparison between model-based and AI-based methods for ISAC are provided. Furthermore, the typical applications of AI in ISAC and the recent trends for AI-enabled ISAC are reviewed. Finally, the future research issues and challenges of intelligent ISAC are discussed.
