Performance Investigation of Cone Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Using Taguchi Method

Dielectric elastomer actuator （DEA） show promise for mechatronic applications due to the advantages of dielectric elastomer, such as lightweight, flexible, low cost, high strain, etc, and many configurations of DEAs have been demonstrated. As a kind of linear actuator, cone DEAs are studied in some laboratory prototypes due to easy manufacturing, however, their performance have not been exploited fully. Based on the working principle of DEA, a four-bar linkage mechanism is designed to provide negative stiffness preload, which can increase displacement output of actuator （outer diameter 100 mm） to 17 mm. Three cone actuating units are assembled in parallel to enhance the maximum force output to 5.07 N. Loading experiments of actuator in forward and backward strokes are performed, the experimental results show that backward stroke has stronger actuating capability than forward stroke, accordingly application of actuator is recommended. Four factors rather than applied voltage, i.e., number of actuating units, pre-stretch ratio, inner diameter, and outer diameter, are determined as influencing factors for Taguchi method. Then the performance objectives of actuator, i.e., displacement output, maximum force output, and maximum work in backward stroke, are investigated based on L9（34） Taguchi orthogonal design. The mean signal-to-noise （S/N） ratio based on the larger-the-better criterion is calculated according to the acquired displacement and force output. Analytical results show that outer diameter has the most significant influence on displacement output, and maximum force out and work output are influenced most by number of actuating units. Inner diameter also has an important effect on the performance objectives of actuator, while pre-stretch ratio has the least influence. The proposed performance investigation is helpful for the design and application of cone actuator in mechatronic system.

A Dynamic Maintenance Strategy for Multi-Component Systems Using a Genetic Algorithm

Synthesis,Structure and Physical Properties of Mn and Cd Complexes with 1,1,2,2-Tetracarboxyl-ethylene Acid

Complex [Mn（tce） 0.5（H2O） 4]（1） was obtained from Mn（OAc） 2 and tce,where tce is 1,1,2,2-tetracarboxyl-ethane. The structure of 1 is a single molecule,in which Mn（II） is a distorted octahedron coordinated to six oxygen atoms. Complex [Cd（tce） 0.5（H2O） 3]（H2O）（2） fea-tures a pillared layer architecture. The Cd（II） atom is in an octahedral environment coordinated by six oxygen donors from water molecules and tce ligands. Cd（II） atoms are interlinked by the tce ligand to generate a 2-D wavelike layer. The layers are strutted by the intermolecular O-H···O hydrogen bonds to form a 3-D open framework. Luminescence property of complex 2 was investigated. Magnetic property of complex 1 was also studied. 1 belongs to triclinic,space group P1 with a = 6.2901（12） ,b = 8.0212（15） ,c = 8.0769（15） A,α = 108.522（3） ,β = 95.068（3） ,γ = 97.086（3） °,V = 379.92（12）A^3,Mr = 456.08,Dc = 1.993 g/cm^3,F（000） = 232,μ = 1.748 mm^-1,Z = 1,the final R = 0.0297 and wR = 0.0731 for 1575 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I） . 2 is of monoclinic system,space group P21/c with a = 6.4367（14） ,b = 9.495（2） ,c = 13.907（3）A,β = 117.405（8） °,V = 754.6（3） A^3,Mr = 285.51,Dc = 2.513 g/cm^3,F（000） = 556,μ = 2.905 mm^-1,Z = 4,the final R = 0.0375 and wR = 0.0737 for 1521 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）.

The history of forecasting wind waves by wave energy conservation equation Is briefly described. Several currently used wave numerical models for shallow water based on different wave theories are discussed. Wave energy conservation models for the simulation of shallow water waves are introduced, with emphasis placed on the SWAN model, which takes use of the most advanced wave research achievements and has been applied to several theoretical and field conditions. The characteristics and applicability of the model, the finite difference numerical scheme of the action balance equation and its source terms computing methods are described in detail. The model has been verified with the propagation refraction numerical experiments for waves propagating in following and opposing currents; finally, the model is applied to the Haian Gulf area to simulate the wave height and wave period field there, and the results are compared with observed data.

Growth of SiC as Binder to Adhere Diamond Particle and Tribological Properties of Diamond Particles Coated SiC

The purpose of this work was to grow SiC as binder to adhere diamond particles to graphite substrate by low pressure chemical vapor deposition （LPCVD） at 1100 ℃ and 100 Pa using methyltrichlorosilane （MTS： CH3SiCl3） as precursor. The composite coatings on graphite substrates were analyzed by various techniques. Results show that a dense SiC coating with a cloud-cluster shape was formed both on the diamond particles and the substrate after deposition, The thermal stress （290.6 MPa） strengthened the interfacial bonding between the diamond particle and the SiC coating, which is advantageous for the purpose of adhering diamond particles to graphite substrate. The applied load of sliding wear test was found to affect not only the friction coefficient, but also the wear surface morphology. With increasing loads, the asperity penetration was high and the friction coefficient decreased.

Cascade control based on minimum sensitivity in outer loop for processes with time delay

A new cascade control program was proposed based on modified internal model control to handle stable,unstable and integrating processes with time *** program had totally four controllers of which the secondary loop had two controllers and the primary loop had two *** two secondary loop controllers were designed using IMC *** were decoupled completely and could be adjusted independently,which avoided the undesirable influence on performance of the primary *** main controller in the primary loop was devised as a PID using the method of minimum sensitivity,which could guarantee not only the nominal performance but also the robust stability of the system.A setpoint filter was added in the primary loop to improve the tracking *** the controllers of the two closed-loops were designed analytically,and could be adjusted and optimized by single parameter *** were carried out on three various processes with time delay,and the results show that the proposed method can provide a better performance of both set-point tracking and disturbance rejection and robustness against parameters perturbation.

Low temperature fabrication for high-performance semitransparent CsPbI_(2)Br perovskite solar cells

All-inorganic CsPbI_(2)Br perovskite with suitable bandgap and excellent thermal stability has been reported as the most promising candidate for efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, the high annealing temperature (> 250 ℃) and poor stability of α-CsPbI_(2)Br greatly limit the future application in photovoltaic field. Herein, a facile method is reported to prepare α-CsPbI_(2)Br perovskite film with high stability at low temperature (70 ℃) by incorporating a small amount of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the precursor solutions. The devices exhibit reproducible photovoltaic performance with a champion efficiency up to 15.16%, along with the excellent stability, maintaining more than 80% of its initial efficiency after stored in ambient condition for 600 h without any encapsulation. Most importantly, the method enables fabrication of semitransparent CsPbI_(2)Br PSCs with a PCE of 6.76%, as well as an average visible transparency (AVT) of 25.38%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to apply CsPbI_(2)Br to the semitransparent solar cells.
