Lysozyme, myoglobin and BSA were used as models of globular proteins covering a wide range of pl. The purpose is to extend the studies to anionic lipid bilayers. Electrostatics is studied in cationic protein adsorption to zwitterionic PC and anionic mixed PC/PG SUVs. Protein adsorption is investigated in SUVs along with changes of fluorescence emission spectra. Partition coefficients and cooperativity parameters are calculated. At pl binding obtains maximum while at lower or higher pHs binding decreases. In Gouy-Chapman formalism activity coefficient goes with square charge, which deviations indicate asymmetric location of anionic phospholipid in the inner leaflet, in mixed SUVs for lysozyme- and myoglobin-PC/PG systems, in agreement with experiments and molecular dynamics simulations. Vesicles bind myoglobin anti-cooperatively while lysozyme-BSA cooperativitivey. A model is proposed for both, which composes two protein sub-layers with different structures and properties. Hill coefficient reflects subunit cooperativity of bi and tridomain proteins.

Further development of our differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)method for the analysis of solid-solid phase transformations now also allows for its application in the kinetic analysis of age hardening in Mg *** a result,the state-of-the-art for DSC on Mg alloys has been improved with respect to the accessible temperature range,zero-level accuracy and dynamic *** analysis was performed on the example of Mg wrought alloy *** DSC experiments on the initial condition T4 and even direct continuous cooling DSC analysis on the kinetics of quench induced precipitation during cooling from solution treatment were possible,covering a dynamic range of 0.01-3 K/*** DSC findings are discussed with respect to literature knowledge and scanning electron microscopy analysis of the defined heat treatment states.

The mechanism of a retracting cantilevered beam has been investigated by the invariant and energy-based analysis. The time-varying parameter partial differential equation governing the transverse vibrations of a beam with retracting motion is derived based on the momentum theorem. The assumed-mode method is used to truncate the governing partial differential equation into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with time-dependent coefficients. It is found that if the order of truncation is not less than the order of the initial conditions, the assumed-mode method can yield accurate results. The energy transfers among assumed modes are discussed during retraction. The total energy varying with time has been investigated by numerical and analytical methods, and the results have good agreement with each other. For the transverse vibrations of the axially retracting beam, the adiabatic invariant is derived by both the averaging method and the Bessel function method. Managing the charging process of a large number of electric vehicles to decrease the pressure on the local electricity grid is of high interest to the utilities. Using efficient mathematical optimization techniques, the charging behavior of electric vehicles shall be optimally controlled taking into account network, vehicle, and customer requirements. We developed an efficient algorithm for calculating load shift potentials defined as the range of all charging curves meeting the customer’s requirements and respecting all individual charging and discharging constraints over time. In addition, we formulated a mixed integer linear program (MIP) applying semi-continuous variables to find cost-optimal load curves for every vehicle participating in a load shift. This problem can be solved by e.g. branch-and-bound algorithms. Results of two scenarios of Germany in 2015 and 2030 based on mobility studies show that the load shifting potential of EV is significant and contribute to a necessary relaxation of the future grid. The maximum charging and discharging power and the average battery capacity are crucial to the overall load shift potential.

A comparative analysis is performed on the structural damage response and associated mechanisms in lanthanum aluminate and yttrium aluminate crystals under various irradiation conditions by a combination of experimental and theoretical *** low-energy Au~+irradiation,the damage accumulation curve shows a higher damage rate for LaAlO_(3)crystals than YAlO_(3)*** relatively low irradiation tolerance of LaAlO_(3)to the action of nuclear collisions is ascribed to the large amorphization cross-section and effective cross-section for defect-stimulated *** swift Ar^(12+),Ni^(19+)and Kr^(17+)irradiation with different ion energies and velocities,the formed highly-disordered/amorphous latent tracks with different morphologies in pristine and predamaged crystals are discussed,and the corresponding electronic energy loss and lattice temperature thresholds are quantitatively *** to YAlO_(3),LaAlO_(3)exhibits lower sensitivity and higher damage tolerance to the electronic energy loss process,attributing to its relatively high recrystallization efficiency during the rapid quenching ***,the introduction of lattice defects into LaAlO_(3)and YAlO_(3)crystals considerably enhances the sensitivity and intensity of thermal spike response to the electronic energy loss,and the induced effective modification of track morphologies demonstrates the synergistic effect between the electronic energy loss and pre-existing defects created by nuclear *** this case,even under the action of electronic energy loss below the threshold,the lattice temperature in the nuclear-collision damaged crystalline system could still meet the criterion for track *** irradiation energy deposited to atoms and induced lattice temperature evolution discussed in this work provide a deeper insight into the complex processes involved in irradiation-induced latent track behaviors.

The safety and durability of lithium-ion batteries under mechanical constraints depend significantly on electrochemical,thermal,and mechanical fields in *** and quantifying the multi-field coupling behaviors requires interdisciplinary ***,we design experiments under mechanical constraints and introduce an in-situ analytical framework to clarify the complex interaction mechanisms and coupling degrees among multi-physics *** proposed analytical framework integrates the parameterization of equivalent models,in-situ mechanical analysis,and quantitative assessment of coupling *** results indicate that the significant impact of pressure on impedance at low temperatures results from the diffusion-controlled step,enhancing kinetics when external pressure,like 180 to 240 k Pa at 10℃,is *** diversity in control steps for the electrochemical reaction accounts for the varying impact of pressure on battery performance across different *** thermal expansion rate suggests that the swelling force varies by less than 1.60%per unit of elevated temperature during the lithiation *** introducing a composite metric,we quantify the coupling correlation and intensity between characteristic parameters and physical fields,uncovering the highest coupling degree in electrochemical-thermal *** results underscore the potential of analytical approaches in revealing the mechanisms of interaction among multi-fields,with the goal of enhancing battery performance and advancing battery management.

Nonlinear normal modes and a numerical iterative approach are applied to study the parametric vibrations of pipes conveying pulsating fluid as an example of gyroscopic *** nonlinear non-autonomous governing equations are transformed into a set of pseudo-autonomous ones by employing the harmonic balance *** nonlinear normal modes are constructed by the invariant manifold method on the state space and a numerical iterative approach is adopted to obtain numerical solutions,in which two types of initial conditions for the modal coefficients are *** results show that both initial conditions can lead to fast *** frequency-amplitude responses with some modal motions in phase space are obtained by the present iterative *** phase difference and traveling waves are found in the time-domain complex modal analysis.

Biophotonics is an emerging multidisciplinary research area, embracing all light-based technologies applied to the life sciences and medicine [1-6]. The expression itself is the combination of the Greek syllables ＂bios＂ standing for life and ＂phos＂ standing for light. Photonics is the technical term for all methodologies and technologies utilizing photons over the whole spectrum from X-ray over the ultraviolet, visible and the infrared to the terahertz region, and its interaction with any matter. Beyond this definition, biophotonics is a scientific discipline of remarkable societal importance. As a part of photonics, it has proved to be an important enabling technology for accelerated progress in medicine and biotechnology. It can do so, because it originated at the interface of the most innovative academic disciplines of the last century, i.e., photonics, biotechnology and nanotechnologies. This field of research brings together scientists from different professions, such as physicists, biologists, pharmacists, medical doctors, etc. To work on common projects, they need to understand the ideas and the techniques of their counterparts.
