Electrochemical water splitting for hydrogen generation is considered one of the most promising strategies for reducing the use of fossil fuels and storing renewable electricity in hydrogen ***,the anodic oxygen evolution process remains a bottleneck due to the remarkably high overpotential of about 300 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2).The key to solving this dilemma is the development of highly efficient catalysts with minimized overpotential,long-term stability,and low *** a new 2D material,MXene has emerged as an intriguing material for future energy conversion technology due to its benefits,including superior conductivity,excellent hydrophilic properties,high surface area,versatile chemical composition,and ease of processing,which make it a potential constituent of the oxygen evolution catalyst *** review aims to summarize and discuss the recent development of oxygen evolution catalysts using MXene as a component,emphasizing the synthesis and synergistic effect of MXene-based composite *** on the discussions summarized in this review,we also provide future research directions regarding electronic interaction,stability,and structural evolution of MXene-based oxygen evolution *** believe that a broader and deeper research in this area could accelerate the discovery of efficient catalysts for electrochemical oxygen evolution.

High-frequency magnetic properties and core loss of carbonyl iron composites with easy plane-like structures

To fully release the potential of wide bandgap(WBG)semiconductors and achieve high energy density and efficiency,a carbonyl iron soft magnetic composite(SMC)with an easy plane-like structure is *** to this structure,the permeability of the composite increases by 3 times(from 7.5 to 21.5)at 100 MHz compared with to the spherical carbonyl iron SMC,and the permeability changes little at frequencies below 100 *** addition,the natural resonance frequency of the composite shifts to higher frequencies at 1.7 *** total core losses of the composites at 10,20,and 30 m T are80.0,355.3,and 810.7 m W/cm^(3),respectively,at 500 k *** with the spherical carbonyl iron SMC,the core loss at500 k Hz is reduced by more than 60%.Therefore,this kind of soft magnetic composite with an easy plane-like structure is a good candidate for unlocking the potential of WBG semiconductors and developing the next-generation power electronics.

Highly sensitive up-conversion phosphor for optical thermometry:CaLaAl3O7:Er3+/Yb3+

Herein,we reported Er^3+/Yb^3+co-doped CaLaAl3O7 up-conversion phosphors synthesized via solid state reaction,which was further explored as a new optical *** luminescent properties of Er^3+or Er^3+/Yb^3+doped CaLaAl3O7 phosphor was studied in *** two-photon process for the green emissions of Er^3+were confirmed by the power-dependent *** up-conversion optical temperature sensing performances of the Er^3+/Yb^3+-codoped CaLaAl3O7 phosphor were investigated based on the FIR *** maximum sensitivity of this phosphor can reach about 0.00345 K-1 at 453 K,which reveals this phosphor can be a promising candidate for optical thermometry devices.

Influence of yttrium addition on properties of Mg-based sacrificial anode

To improve lower current efficiency of Mg-based sacrificial anode,a Mg-based sacrificial anode material with yttrium addition was *** electrochemical properties were evaluated by the galvanostatic method,and its microstructure and constitution were characterized by metallurgical microscope and X-ray *** results showed that,the addition of yttrium refined dentrite grains,maximized current efficiency,and minimized potential of magnesium sacrificial *** 0.1% yttrium was doped,the anode showed the highest current efficiency,62.5%,which improved its current efficiency by 14%.

The Brillouin scattering spectrum has been used to investigate the properties of a liquid ***,we propose an improved method based on the double-edge technique to obtain the Brillouin spectrum of a *** calculated the transmission ratios and deduced the Brillouin shift and linewidth to construct the Brillouin spectrum by extracting the Brillouin edge signal through filtered double-edge *** built a detection system to test the performance of this method and measured the Brillouin spectrum for distilled water at different temperatures and compared it with the theoretical *** observed difference between the experimental and theoretical values for Brillouin shift and linewidth is less than 4.3 MHz and 3.2 MHz,***,based on the double-edge technique,the accuracy of the extracted temperatures and salinity is approximately 0.1°C and 0.5‰,respectively,indicating significant potential for application in water detection and oceanography.

Electrical properties of Medium Voltage electricity Distribution Networks

An increasing amount of low carbon technologies(LCT)such as solar photovoltaic,wind turbines and electric vehicles are being connected at medium and low voltage levels to electric power *** support high-level decision-making processes,the impacts of the LCTs on large numbers of different types(e.g.,rural,suburban,urban)of distribution networks need to be fully understood and ***,detailed modeling of large numbers of real-world networks is challenging for two ***,access to real-world network data is limited,and second,cleaning the data requires a significant amount of time,even before modeling of the *** paper offers a novel systematic methodology aimed at identifying and quantifying the key electrical properties of medium-voltage level distribution *** methodology allows for characterizing different types(e.g.,suburban,urban)of distribution networks and obtaining'depth'dependent electrical properties of the models of the *** key sets of(electrical)data were used for the *** first set was installed capacities of distribution substations;and the second set was the conductor cross sections of the distribution *** the graph models of real-world networks,'nodes'represent the distribution sub-stations,switchgears,busbars and consumers locations of the network.'Links/edges'stand for the connections between the nodes through distribution *** results of the investigation of the real-world networks showed that,the substation capacities and the conductor cross sections could characterize the electrical properties of suburban and urban type distribution *** resulted probability density functions(PDF)of the electrical properties of suburban and urban type distribution networks have the potential to be directly used in generating realistic distribution network models.

Modification of the CuO electronic structure for enhanced selective electrochemical CO_(2) reduction to ethylene

Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)can produce value-added hydrocarbons from renewable electricity,providing a sustainable and promising approach to meet dual-carbon targets and alleviate the energy ***,it is still challenging to improve the selectivity and stability of the products,especially the C^(2+) *** we propose to modulate the electronic structure of copper oxide(CuO)through lattice strain construction by zinc(Zn)doping to improve the selectivity of the catalyst to *** performance and in situ characterization analyses show that the compressive strain generated within the CuO lattice and the electronic structure modulation by Zn doping enhances the adsorption of the key intermediate*CO,thereby increasing the intrinsic activity of CO_(2)RR and inhibiting the hydrogen precipitation *** the best catalysts had significantly improved ethylene selectivity of 60.5%and partial current density of 500 mA·cm^(–2),and the highest C^(2+) Faraday efficiency of 71.47%.This paper provides a simple idea to study the modulation of CO_(2)RR properties by heteroatom doped and lattice strain.

High-Power High-Efficiency Laser Power Transmission at 100m Using Optimized Multi-Cell GaAs Converter

A high-power high-efficiency laser power transmission system at 100m based on an optimized multi-cell GaAs converter capable of supplying 9.7W of electricity is demonstrated. An I V testing system integrat, ed with a data acquisition circuit and an analysis software is designed to measure the efficiency and the I V characteristics of the laser power converter （LPC）. The dependencies of the converter＇s efficiency with respect to wavelength, laser intensity and temperature are analyzed. A diode laser with 793nm of wavelength and 24 W of power is used to test the LPC and the software. The maximum emciency of the LPC is 48.4% at an input laser power of 8 W at room temperature. When the input laser power is 24 W （laser intensity of 60000 W/m^2）, the efficiency is 40.4% and the out,put voltage is 4 V. The overall efficiency from electricity to dectricity is 11.6%.

A Review on Technologies for the Use of CO2 as a Working Fluid in Refrigeration and Power Cycles

The use of carbon dioxide as a working fluid has been the subject of extensive studies in recent years, particularly in the field of refrigeration where it is at the heart of research to replace CFC and HCFC. Its thermodynamic properties make it a fluid of choice in the efficient use of energy at low and medium temperatures in engine cycles. However, the performance of transcritical CO2 cycles weakens under high temperature and pressure conditions, especially in refrigeration systems;On the other hand, this disadvantage becomes rather interesting in engine cycles where CO2 can be used as an alternative to the organic working fluid in small and medium-sized electrical systems for low quality or waste heat sources. In order to improve the performance of systems operating with CO2 in the field of refrigeration and electricity production, research has made it possible to develop several concepts, of which this article deals with a review of the state of the art, followed by analyzes in-depth and critical of the various developments to the most recent modifications in these fields. Detailed discussions on the performance and technical characteristics of the different evolutions are also highlighted as well as the factors affecting the overall performance of the systems studied. Finally, perspectives on the future development of the use of CO2 in these different cycles are presented.

Abstract:The properties of novel cable insulation systems will rely critically upon the morphology of the ***,a blend of high and low-density polyethylene(PE)was processed in order to generate three sets of samples with different *** influence of thermo-oxidative ageing at 120℃ was then *** resulting chemical changes included the introduction of unsaturation and oxygen-containing groups and were determined by antioxidant consumption and oxygen *** chemical defects were found to be concentrated in the fraction of each system that was molten at 120°C and,consequently,served to inhibit recrystallisation following *** resulting spatial distribution of charge trapping sites was therefore strongly dependent on *** electrical conductivity of each system varied non-monotonically with ageing:short times reduced the conductivity;a rapid increase in conductivity over five orders of magnitude occurred beyond a critical ageing *** the pronounced structural differences between the morphologically distinct sets of samples,all exhibited comparable conductivity values beyond this threshold,implying that while charge transport is strongly influenced by chemical factors,crystallinity is relatively *** experimental finding appears at odds with theoretical studies of the electronic states in crystalline and amorphous PE.
