Landslides are considered as one among many phenomena jeopardizing human beings as well as their constructions. To prevent this disastrous problem, researchers have used several approaches for landslide susceptibility modeling, for the purpose of preparing accurate maps marking landslide prone *** the most frequently used approaches for landslide susceptibility mapping is the Artificial Neural Network(ANN) method. However, the effectiveness of ANN methods could be enhanced by using hybrid metaheuristic algorithms, which are scarcely applied in landslide mapping. In the current study, nine hybrid metaheuristic algorithms, genetic algorithm(GA)-ANN, evolutionary strategy(ES)-ANN, ant colony optimization(ACO)-ANN, particle swarm optimization(PSO)-ANN, biogeography based optimization(BBO)-ANN, gravitational search algorithm(GHA)-ANN, particle swarm optimization and gravitational search algorithm(PSOGSA)-ANN, grey wolves optimization(GWO)-ANN, and probability based incremental learning(PBIL)-ANN have been used to spatially predict landslide susceptibility in Algiers’ Sahel,Algeria. The modeling phase was done using a database of 78 landslides collected utilizing Google Earth images, field surveys, and six conditioning factors(lithology, elevation, slope, land cover, distance to stream, and distance to road). Initially, a gamma test was used to decrease the input variable ***, the optimal inputs have been modeled by the mean of hybrid metaheuristic ANN techniques and their performance was assessed through seven statistical indicators. The comparative study proves the effectiveness of the co-evolutionary PSOGSA-ANN model, which yielded higher performance in predicting landslide susceptibility compared to the other models. Sensitivity analysis using the stepby-step technique was done afterward, which revealed that the distance to the stream is the most influential factor on landslide susceptibility, followed by the slope factor which ranked second. In this article, we will present a particularly remarkable partitioning method of any infinite set with the aid of non-surjective injective maps. The non-surjective injective maps from an infinite set to itself constitute a semigroup for the law of composition bundled with certain properties allowing us to prove the existence of remarkable elements. Not to mention a compatible equivalence relation that allows transferring the said law to the quotient set, which can be provided with a lattice structure. Finally, we will present the concept of Co-injectivity and some of its properties.

In this paper, we have investigated two observed situations in a multi-lane road. The first one concerns a fast merging vehicle. The second situation is related to the case of a fast vehicle leaving the fastest lane back into the slowest lane and targeting a specific way out. We are interested in the relaxation time T, i.e., which is the time that the merging （diverging） vehicle spends before reaching the desired lane. Using analytical treatment and numerical simulations for the NaSch model, we have found two states, namely, the free state in which the merging （diverging） vehicle reaches the desired lane, and the trapped state in which T diverges. We have established phase diagrams for several values of the braking probability. In the second situation, we have shown that diverging from the fast lane targeting a specific way out is not a simple task. Even if the diverging vehicle is in the free phase, two different states can be distinguished. One is the critical state, in which the diverging car can probably reach the desired way out. The other is the safe state, in which the diverging car can surely reach the desired way out. In order to be in the safe state, we have found that the driver of the diverging car must know the critical distance （below which the way out will be out of his reach） in each lane. Furthermore, this critical distance depends on the density of cars, and it follows an exponential law.

In this article, the analytical homogenization method of periodic discrete media（HPDM）and the numerical condensed wave finite element method（CWFEM） are employed to study the longitudinal and transverse vibrations of framed structures. The valid frequency range of the HPDM is re-evaluated using the wave propagation feature identified by the CWFEM. The relative error of the wavenumber by the HPDM compared to that by the CWFEM is illustrated in functions of frequency and scale ratio. A parametric study on the thickness of the structure is carried out where the dispersion relation and the relative error are given for three different thicknesses. The dynamics of a finite structure such as natural frequency and forced response are also investigated using the HPDM and the CWFEM.

The quality control of geographic data, especially from a topological and semantic perspective, is a must for its good management and use. However, while updating spatial data, some sorts of anomalies are affecting it, due to negligence or non-respect of business and topological rules. Hence the necessity of a solution that enables detecting theses anomalies. Nowadays, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have become essential for decision-making in any project that manages spatial data. GIS functionalities and tools give the possibility of defining the topology of vector data. Nevertheless, the topology alone does not respond to the needs in matter of defining specific rules for every facility network. This means, we could find topological errors in the spatial database, but taking into account business rules, they are correct and vice versa. The main objective of this article is firstly to define business rules for the linear elements of a network. Secondly to premeditate the algorithms that detect the violation of the defined rules in order to have a good quality control of geographic data.

Rutting Resistance of HMA Rehabilitated with Micro-Surfacing

The work presented here is a study on the measurement and prediction of the rutting resistance of previously rutted asphalt mixes rehabilitated with a layer of micro-surfacing manufactured with virgin and recycled aggregates at different stages of aging. The experimental procedure consisted of rutting tests on hot mix asphalt slabs already degraded and repaired with virgin and recycled micro-surfacing. Then, the evolution of the behavior of micro-surfacing cast on the hot mix asphalt slabs is observed according to loading cycles of the pavement rutting tester MLPC. Before rutting tests, slabs are subjected to 24 hours at 50°C and aged for 2 days and 5 days at 85°C in the oven. The results showed rutting percentages of 6.3% for hot mix asphalt slabs aged for 2 days and 7.2% for 5 days. These hot mix slabs repaired with virgin micro-surfacing have rutting percentage of about 9.2 % for 2 days of aging and 6.5% for 5 days of aging. While, the HMA slabs repaired with recycled micro-surfacing have rutting percentage of about 8.1% for 2 days of aging and 5.9% for 5 days of aging. These results allowed the development of a prediction model based essentially on three predictor variables including cycle number, rutting state and percentage of water in the micro-surfacing material. The developed model shows a strong correlation between the predicted rutting values and the rutting values measured with the MLPC rut tester. Thermal aging in oven has a positive impact on the resistance to permanent deformation of new asphalt mixes and those rehabilitated with micro-surfacing. The parameters of rutting state and contribution water are significant in the rutting prediction model, while the cycle number remains a non-significant parameter in the model but determinant.

Seepage-induced fines migration under rainfall infiltration is a main cause leading to shallow failures in loose colluvial slopes. To describe the full process of fines migration within unsaturated soils during rainfall infiltration and the associated hydromechanical behaviors, a seepage-erosion-deformation coupled formulation is proposed in this paper. The governing equations proposed are implemented into a finite element code and used to investigate the influences of skeleton deformation on the rainfall infiltration process through unsaturated soil *** numerical results were presented in detail for a better understanding of the rainfall-induced fines migration process within unsaturated soils. Further,the obtained results are integrated into an infinite slope model for slope stability analysis. The results show that, the skeleton deformation will affect the rainfall infiltration rate and hence the timing of slope failures; meanwhile their influences are more evident if the fines deposition process is taken into ***, the slope stability could be reduced gradually due to the soil strength loss along with loss of fine particles. Therefore, particular attentions should be paid to analyzing the stability of soil slopes susceptible to internal erosion.
