＜正＞During the past 40 years,world textile trade has been in large part governed by the Multifiber Arrangement （MFA）and its predecessor *** Japan and neighboring developing countries began increasing their capacity to export textiles and apparel to the united states in Europe during the 1950 s,a series of bilateral and multilateral agreements were developed to control imports from developing *** in 2005,these restrictions must end,in accordance with World Trade Organization （WTO） obligations,and the import restrictions developing countries imposed must largely end as *** paper examines the impact of these trade policy changes on the textile,apparel,and cotton industries of China and the rest of the world.A dynamic computable general equilibrium （CGE） model finds that trade reform improves welfare for China and for virtually every other region of the world,causes world textile,apparel,and cotton prices and production decline,while production rises in each case in China.
