Effects of Feeding Programs Based on One or Two Milk Replacer Daily Meals on Growth, Solid Feed Intake and Rumen Fermentation and development of Dairy Calves

Sixteen Holstein calves were used to study the effects of two feeding programs (FP) on growth, intake, rumen development and ruminal metabolism from birth to weaning. Two feeding programs based on milk replacer (MR) were tested: a once a day (OAD) MR (200 g/L) distribution vs. a standard twice a day (TAD) MR (125 g/L) distribution. All calves received water, wheat straw and a starter concentrate ad libitum. Four calves per group were slaughtered at weaning and rumen epithelium from the ventral sac was sampled for papillae (RP) density. Results showed that the FP had no effect on body weight of calves and total feed intake. From day 42 to day 56, ruminal pH was lower (P = 0.036) and ruminal oxydo-reducing potential was higher (P = 0.001) in OAD than TAD calves. Ruminal total volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentrations did not significantly differ between FP. From day 21 to day 63, butyrate ruminal concentration was significantly higher in OAD than TAD calves (5.17 vs 3.95 mmol/L). This probably explained the higher development of RP in calves fed once daily. Finally, the tested feeding system based on a once daily MR distribution affects the concentrate feeding pattern of calves.

Linear global stability of a confined plume

A linear stability analysis is performed for a plume flow inside a cylinder of aspect ratio 1. The configu- ration is identical to that used by Lopez and Marques （2013） for their direct numerical simulation study, It is found that the first bifurcation, which leads to a periodic axisymmetric flow state, is accurately pre- dicted by linear analysis： both the critical Rayleigh number and the global frequency are consistent with the reported DNS results. It is further shown that pressure feedback drives the global mode, rather than absolute instability.

Evaluation and Validation of Recent Freely-Available ASTER-GdeM V.2, SRTM V.4.1 and the deM derived from Topographical Map over SW Grombalia (Test Area) in North East of Tunisia

Digital Elevation Models (deMs) provide one of the most useful digital datasets for a wide range of users. Both the Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (STRM V.4.1) topography and the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER-GdeM V.2) have been widely used in geomorphology, hydrology, tectonic, and others since they were made access to the public. The magnitude of vertical errors of two near-global deMs—SRTM and ASTER-GdeM is compared and validated against a reference deM which has a relatively high precision of 1:25,000 scale constructed from topographical map. Moreover, the reference deM, ASTER-GdeM and SRTM were used as basic topographic data to extract some Morphometric index. The parameters like slope and shaded reflectance maps, were derived from the elevation distribution to provide a more sensitive indication of deM quality. A square area in the North East of Tunisia was selected as a case study to test and evaluate the elevation accuracy of ASTER-GdeM and SRTM. The relative accuracy approach and absolute accuracy were adopted to evaluate global deMs. The comparisons show that SRTM overestimates and ASTER-GdeM underestimates elevations, both deMs can be used to extract the elevations of required geometric data,?i.e.?sub watershed boundaries, drainage information and cross sections. However, small errors still exist in. The lower root mean square errors values indicate that SRTM is comparatively more accurate than ASTER-GdeM.

We report evidence for the first generation of XUV spectra from relativistic surface high-harmonic generation(SHHG)on plasma mirrors at a kilohertz repetition rate,emitted simultaneously with energetic *** spectra and electron angular distributions are measured as a function of the experimentally controlled plasma density gradient scale length Lg for three increasingly short and intense driving pulses:24 fs and a0=1:1,8 fs and a0=1:6,and finally 4 fs and a0≈2:1,where a0 is the peak vector potential normalized by mec/e with the elementary charge e,the electron rest mass me,and the vacuum light velocity *** all driver pulses,we observe correlated relativistic SHHG and electron emission in the range Lg∈½λ/20,λ/4,with an optimum gradient scale length of Lg≈λ/*** universal optimal Lg-range is rationalized by deriving a direct intensity-independent link between the scale length Lg and an effective similarity parameter for relativistic laser-plasma interactions.

误解、偏见以及各种不同且相互冲突的记忆将欧洲一分为二,这些记忆导致了纷争和不时出现的相互指责,造成了西欧与中东欧的认知不一致的局面。关于欧盟内部共同体建设的进程,要回答的主要问题不仅在于欧洲人有多少共同的过去,而且在于对共同的记忆和仍具有产生冲突可能的非共同记忆,如何才能达成某种平和的、互相能够接受的分析。所有欧盟成员国有一项共同的紧迫任务:"闯关历史"或"就过去达成一致"。这是民族国家必须采取的理解自身历史和与邻国共同的冲突历史的方式,也是记住过去、过去有时如何被利用或错误利用的方式。在成员国处理彼此关系和自身民族感情时,需要有一种对过去、对如何理解历史的批判性的自省态度,以构建起欧洲国家认同和集体记忆。

Flood Risk Map Based on GIS, and Multi Criteria Techniques (Case Study Terengganu Malaysia)

The heavy floods in the Terengganu have showed an increasing trend in recent years. Terrain?characteristics of land and meteorological properties of the region are main natural factors for?this?disaster. In this paper, Terengganu was selected as the case study for flood risk analysis. Geographical Information System (GIS) is integrated with Multicriteria decision Analysis (MCDA) to evaluate the potential flood risk areas. Some of the causative factors for flooding in watershed are taken into account as annual rainfall, basin slope, drainage network and the type of soil. The spatial multi-criteria analysis was used to rank and display potential locations, while the analytical hierarchy process method was used to compute the priority weights of each criterion. Using AHP, the percentages derived from the factors were Rainfall 38.7%, Drainage network 27.5%, Slope of the river basin 19.8% and Soil type 14%. At the end of the study, a map of flood risk areas was?generated and validated with a view to assisting decision makers on the menace posed by the disaster.
