Clubroot caused by the protist Plasmodiophora brassicae is a major disease affecting cultivated *** a combination of quantitative trait locus(QTL)fine mapping,CRISPR-Cas9 validation,and extensive analyses of DNA sequence and methylation patterns,we revealed that the two adjacent neigh-boring NLR(nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat)genes AT5G47260 and AT5G47280 cooperate in controlling broad-spectrum quantitative partial resistance to the root pathogen *** in Arabidopsis and that they are epigenetically *** variation in DNA methylation is not associated with any nucleotide variation or any transposable element presence/absence variants and is stably ***-ations in DNA methylation at the Pb-At5.2 QTL are widespread across Arabidopsis accessions and corre-late negatively with variations in expression of the two *** study demonstrates that natural,stable,and transgenerationally inherited epigenetic variations can play an important role in shaping resistance to plant pathogens by modulating the expression of immune receptors.

In January 2015,the first quantum homomorphic signature scheme was proposed ***,only one verifier is allowed to verify a signature once in this *** order to support repeatable verification for general scenario,we propose a new quantum homomorphic signature scheme with repeatable verification by introducing serial verification model and parallel verification *** verification model solves the problem of signature verification by combining key distribution and Bell *** verification model solves the problem of signature duplication by logically treating one particle of an EPR pair as a quantum signature and physically preparing a new EPR *** models will be beneficial to the signature verification of general *** analysis shows that both intermediate verifiers and terminal verifiers can successfully verify signatures in the same operation with fewer resource consumption,and especially the verified signature in entangled states can be used repeatedly.

The present work has been performed in the context of the European H2020 project increased SAfety and Robust certification for ditching of Aircrafts and Helicopters(SARAH)dedicated to improving the safety during aircraft ditching,together with a better understanding of the physics involved during those crucial *** numerical and experimental aspects are explored during this *** present study focuses on the application of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method to the simulation of helicopter ditching,as this method has proved to be particularly adapted to free surface impact *** are performed for three different impact configurations,for which the numerical solutions are compared with the experimental results(forces and kinematics)obtained at the wave basin of ecole centrale Nantes on a mock-up shape provided by Airbus *** of sensitivity analysis are also provided when needed,to assess the role of some parameters involved in the helicopter behavior and the fluid pressure forces exerted during the impact.

With ultrafast laser systems reaching presently 10 PW peak power or operating at high repetition rates,research towards ensuring the long-term,trouble-free performance of all laser-exposed optical components is *** work is focused on providing insight into the optical material behavior at fluences below the standardized laser-induced damage threshold(LIDT)value by implementing a simultaneous dual analysis of surface emitted particles using a Langmuir probe(LP)and the target current(TC).HfO_(2) and ZrO_(2) thin films deposited on fused silica substrates by pulsed laser deposition at various O_(2) pressures for defect and stoichiometry control were irradiated by Gaussian,ultrashort laser pulses(800 nm,10 Hz,70 fs)in a wide range of *** TC and LP collected signals were in good agreement with the existing theoretical description of laser–matter interaction at an ultrashort time *** approach for an in situ LIDT monitoring system provides measurable signals for below-threshold irradiation conditions that indicate the endurance limit of the optical surfaces in the single-shot energy scanning *** LIDT value extracted from the LP-TC system is in line with the multipulse statistical analysis done with ISO 21254-2:2011(E).The implementation of the LP and TC as on-shot diagnostic tools for optical components will have a significant impact on the reliability of next-generation ultrafast and high-power laser systems.

The potentially crucial role of quasi-particle interferences for the growth of silicene on graphite

A comprehensive picture of the initial stages of silicene growth on graphite is *** is shown that quasiparticle interferences play a crucial role in the formation of the observed silicene *** propose,on one hand,that the charge modulations caused by those quantum interferences serve as templates and guide the incoming Si atoms to self-assemble to the unique(√3 x√3)R30°honeycomb atomic *** the other hand,their limited extension limits the growth to about 150 Si atoms under our present deposition *** here proposed electrostatic interaction finally explains the unexpected stability of the observed silicene islands over time and with *** the robust guiding nature of those quantum interferences during the early growth phase,we demonstrate that the window of experimental conditions for silicene growth is quite narrow,making it an extremely challenging experimental ***,it is shown that the experimentally observed threedimensional silicon clusters might very well be the simple result of the end of the silicene growth resulting from the limited extent of the quasi-particle interferences.

Pressure induced by the interaction of water waves with nearly equal frequencies and nearly opposite directions

We present second-order expressions for the free-surface elevation, velocity potential and pressure resulting from the interaction of surface waves in water of arbitrary depth. When the surface waves have nearly equal frequencies and nearly opposite directions, a second-order pressure can be felt all the way to the sea bottom. There are at least two areas of applications： reflective structures and microseisms. Microseisms generated by water waves in the ocean are small vibrations of the ground resulting from pressure oscillations associated with the coupling of ocean surface gravity waves and the sea floor. They are recorded on land-based seismic stations throughout the world and they are divided into primary and secondary types, as a function of spectral content. Secondary microseisms are generated by the interaction of surface waves with nearly equal frequencies and nearly opposite directions. The efficiency of microseism generation thus depends in part on ocean wave frequency and direction. Based on the second-order expressions for the dynamic pressure, a simple theoretical analysis that quantifies the degree of nearness in amplitude, frequency, and incidence angle, which must be reached to observe the phenomenon, is presented.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of certain dynamical properties of a family of iterative Newton type methods used to find roots of non-linear equations. We present a procedure for constructing polynomials in such a way that superattracting cycles of any prescribed length occur when these iterative methods are applied. This paper completes the study begun in Amat, Bermúclez, Busquier, et al., (2009).

Market-oriented housing reforms and the rapid urbanization process have led to spectacular growth in the Chinese real estate sector(RES).However,the changes in the role played by this sector in the structural dynamics of the Chinese economy have not been examined ***,we analyze the intersectoral structural changes to the Chinese RES,its linkages with the rest of the economy,and its growth sources,using four Chinese input-output tables from 2002 to *** depart from existing work on the RES by using the causative matrix approach and structural decomposition analysis,and obtain three main ***,the RES,which received little non-RES feedback during the 2002-2007period,has subsequently received much more substantial ***,the impact of the RES on China s economic growth stems mainly from its forward ***,the growth in the RES has been driven mainly by domestic demand *** results highlight that the Chinese RES,which plays a key role in value chains,is highly dependent on its own final demand and a fall in its demand would impede economic *** important implication of these results is that developing the national economy by stimulating the RES would not be as effective as developing the RES through stimulating the national economy.
