An investigation on acupuncture of Neiguanand Shaofu was carried out in 12 normal indi-viduals(N),24 cases of hypertrophic obstructivecardiomyopathy(HOCM)and 16 cases of con-gestive cardiomyopathy(CCM).Acupuncture ofthe point was performed over both *** patient felt the needling sensation,a directcurrent of 120 times/minute frequency was con-nected to the needles for 2 minutes,after whichthe needles were retained in place for 15 ***,apex cardiogram,and systolictime interval(STI)were recorded before andafter the *** capillaryweuge pressure(PCWP)was measured in *** puncturing Neiguan there was 1)aslight increase of left ventricular outflow tract(LVOT)diameter in N,a significant decrease inHOCM and a significant increase in CCM;2)stroke volume(SV)and cardiac output(CO)were increased in N and CCM,decreased inHOCM;3)the Dd and Ds(internal diameter ofleft ventricle during diastole and during systole)were slightly decreased in N and CCM,increasedin HOCM;4)the LVPWs and LVPWd wereslightly increased in N,HOCM and CCM;5)theSTI was slightly shortened in N and CCM,notchanged in HOCM;6)the PCWP was decreasedin CCM,increased in *** of Shaofu resulted in no changeof LVOT diameter in N,a slight increase inCCM,and a marked increase in *** andCO were decreased slightly in N and markedlydecreased in CCM;they were markedly increas-ed in *** LVPWd and LVPWs weredecreased in N,CCM and *** was aslight prolongation of STI in N,HOCM andCCM. The authors concluded that acupuncture ofNeiguan could increase cardiac contraction andbe beneficial in heart failure due to CCM orother causes,but could worsen cardiac functionin *** of Shaofu could decreasecardiac contraction and benefit patients withHOCM,but harm heart failure patients withCCM.

Cardiac rehabilitation helps improve the prognosis and quality of life for patients with heart disease. To show its interest in the African context, in the management of heart disease, a prospective study was carried out. Its objective was to evaluate the effects of physical rehabilitation on cardiac function. Methods: Patients were evaluated at the beginning and at the end of cardiovascular rehabilitation by cardiovascular, biological, and echocardiographic parameters including the size of the heart chambers, the kinetics of the walls, and the systolic function of the ventricles. Results: The study involved 12 patients, 67% of whom were men. After cardiac rehabilitation, the mean hemodynamic constants had not been significantly modified. However, a significant decrease in Total-Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol and triglyceride levels was noted. Mean fasting blood sugar decreased from 1.25 ± 0.48 g/L to 0.92 ± 0.18 g/L and glycated hemoglobin from 7.72% ± 0.01% to 6.45% ± 0.008%. The echocardiographic parameters studied showed an improvement in the dilation of the heart chambers in 8.33% of the patients, the normalization of the ejection fraction of the left ventricle in 16% patients, the improvement of the kinetic disorders in 16% of patients and recovery of right ventricular systolic function in all patients. Conclusion: Cardiac rehabilitation as a secondary preventive measure for cardiovascular disease has contributed significantly to improving the clinico-biological parameters of the disease.

Background:Shenzao dripping pill(SZDP)is empirically prescribed for treating cardiac ***,there is a lack of comprehensive knowledge regarding the underlying mechanisms contributing to its therapeutic *** objective of this study is to investigate the underlying mechanism of SZDP against chronic myocardial ischemia(CMI)in a rat ***:In this study,we utilized electrocardiographic and echocardiographic detection along with pathological tissue analysis to evaluate the efficacy of *** integration of network pharmacology and metabolomics was conducted to investigate the *** docking and molecular dynamics simulations were used to validate the binding energy between the compounds of SZDP and the associated ***:The results showed that SZDP was able to improve T wave voltage,reverse CMI abnormalities in ejection fraction and fractional shortening,and restore histopathological heart *** results indicated that disturbances of metabolic profile in CMI rats were partly corrected after SZDP administration,mainly affecting purine metabolism.13-Docosenamide may be the potential metabolic biomarker of the therapeutic application of SZDP for *** network pharmacology and metabolomics,thiopurine S-methyltransferase(TPMT),xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase(XDH),bifunctional purine biosynthesis protein ATIC(ATIC),and cytochrome p4501A1(CYP1A1)were identified as possible targets of SZDP to exert therapeutic effects by enhancing the metabolic levels of L-Tryptophan,Deoxyribose 1-phosphate and Phosphoribosyl ***:SZDP has a therapeutic effect on CMI by regulating metabolite levels,acting on the targets of TMPT,XDH,ATIC,and CYP1A1,and reducing cardiomyocyte injury and myocardial fibrosis.

BACKGROUND There is concern regarding potential long-term cardiotoxicity with systemic distribution of metals in total joint arthroplasty(TJA)*** To determine the association of commonly used implant metals with echocardiographic measures in TJA *** The study comprised 110 TJA patients who had a recent history of high chromium,cobalt or titanium *** underwent two-dimensional,three-dimensional,Doppler and speckle-strain transthoracic echocardiography and a blood draw to measure metal *** and sex-adjusted linear and logistic regression models were used to examine the association of metal concentrations(exposure)with echocardiographic measures(outcome).RESULTS Higher cobalt concentrations were associated with increased left ventricular end-diastolic volume(estimate 5.09;95%CI:0.02-10.17)as well as left atrial and right ventricular dilation,particularly in men but no changes in cardiac *** titanium concentrations were associated with a reduction in left ventricle global longitudinal strain(estimate 0.38;95%CI:0.70 to 0.06)and cardiac index(estimate 0.08;95%CI,-0.15 to-0.01).CONCLUSION Elevated cobalt and titanium concentrations may be associated with structural and functional cardiac changes in some *** studies are warranted to better understand the systemic effects of metals in TJA patients.

Deep learning models for automatic classification ofechocardiographic views

Objective To observe the value of deep learning (DL) models for automatic classification of echocardiographic views. Methods Totally 100 patients after heart transplantation were retrospectively enrolled and divided into training set, validation set and test set at a ratio of 7 ∶ 2 ∶ 1. ResNet18, ResNet34, Swin Transformer and Swin Transformer V2 models were established based on 2D apical two chamber view, 2D apical three chamber view, 2D apical four chamber view, 2D subcostal view, parasternal long-axis view of left ventricle, short-axis view of great arteries, short-axis view of apex of left ventricle, short-axis view of papillary muscle of left ventricle, short-axis view of mitral valve of left ventricle, also 3D and CDFI views of echocardiography. The accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score and confusion matrix were used to evaluate the performance of each model for automatically classifying echocardiographic views. The interactive interface was designed based on Qt Designer software and deployed on the desktop. Results The performance of models for automatically classifying echocardiographic views in test set were all good, with relatively poor performance for 2D short-axis view of left ventricle and superior performance for 3D and CDFI views. Swin Transformer V2 was the optimal model for automatically classifying echocardiographic views, with high accuracy, precision, recall and F1 score was 92.56%, 89.01%, 89.97% and 89.31%, respectively, which also had the highest diagonal value in confusion matrix and showed the best classification effect on various views in t-SNE figure. Conclusion DL model had good performance for automatically classifying echocardiographic views, especially Swin Transformer V2 model had the best performance. Using interactive classification interface could improve the interpretability of prediction results to some extent.

Transthoracic echocardiographic characteristics of 17 cases of cardiac amyloidosis （CA）, a rare disease in China, were analyzed in order to improve the understanding of the disease. Seventeen cases of biopsy-proven CA, admitted to Wuhan Union Hospital from June 1994 to September 2008 were retrospectively reviewed. Twenty normal volunteers served as control group. Left atrial and ventricular functions and mitral inflow velocity were measured by two-dimensional, and Doppler echocardiography, and tissue Doppler imaging （TDI）-derived peak systolic wall motion velocities （Sv）, peak early diastolic wall motion velocities （Ev）, and peak late diastolic wall motion （Av） were measured at the septum, lateral, inferior and anterior corners of mitral annulus from the apical 4-and 2 chamber views. Compared with the control group, the interventricular septal thickness （IVSd）, the left ventricular posterior wall （LVPWd）, right ventricular transverse diameter （RVTDd） near the end of diastole and the interauricular septum thickness （IASs）, left atrial anteroposterior diameter （LAADs）, right atrial transverse diameter （RATDs） near the end of systole were increased significantly （all P〈0.05） and left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF） decreased （P〈0.05） in the CA group. Compared with the control group, Sv, Ev at each wall and Av at almost all walls were significantly decreased in the CA group. In the CA group, Myocardial echoes of interventricular septum and free wall of left ventricle were enhanced evidently and distributed unevenly. The echoes presented as ground glass-like images, with some spotty hyper echoes. Both atria were enlarged, and LVEF decreased, with diastolic function impaired, and mild-moderate hydropericardium found in the CA group. It was concluded that echocardiography was a relatively sensitive and highly specific non-invasive method for the diagnosis of CA.
