Inversion of maize leaf nitrogen using UAV hyperspectral imagery in breeding fields

Nitrogen(N)as a pivotal factor in influencing the growth,development,and yield of *** the N status of maize rapidly and non-destructive and real-time is meaningful in fertilization management of agriculture,based on unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)remote sensing *** this study,the hyperspectral images were acquired by UAV and the leaf nitrogen content(LNC)and leaf nitrogen accumulation(LNA)were measured to estimate the N nutrition status of maize.24 vegetation indices(VIs)were constructed using hyperspectral images,and four prediction models were used to estimate the LNC and LNA of *** models include a single linear regression model,multivariable linear regression(MLR)model,random forest regression(RFR)model,and support vector regression(SVR)***,the model with the highest prediction accuracy was applied to invert the LNC and LNA of maize in breeding *** results of the single linear regression model with 24 VIs showed that normalized difference chlorophyll(NDchl)had the highest prediction accuracy for LNC(R^(2),RMSE,and RE were 0.72,0.21,and 12.19%,respectively)and LNA(R^(2),RMSE,and RE were 0.77,0.26,and 14.34%,respectively).And then,24 VIs were divided into 13 important VIs and 11 unimportant *** prediction models for LNC and LNA were constructed using 13 important VIs,and the results showed that RFR and SVR models significantly enhanced the prediction accuracy of LNC and LNA compared to the multivariable linear regression model,in which RFR model had the highest prediction accuracy for the validation dataset of LNC(R^(2),RMSE,and RE were 0.78,0.16,and 8.83%,respectively)and LNA(R^(2),RMSE,and RE were 0.85,0.19,and 9.88%,respectively).This study provides a theoretical basis for N diagnosis and precise management of crop production based on hyperspectral remote sensing in precision agriculture.

The Jitang metamorphic complex is key to studying the tectonic evolution of the Northern Lancangjiang *** structural-lithological mapping,structural analysis and laboratory testing,the composition of the Jitang metamorphic complex was *** macro-and microstructural analyses of the ductile detachment shear zone(Guoxuepu ductile shear zone,2–4 km wide)between the metamorphic complex and the overlying sedimentary cap show that the shear sense of the ductile shear zones is *** presence of various deformation features and quartz C-axis electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)fabric analysis suggests multiple deformation events occurring at different *** average stress is 25.68 MPa,with the strain rates(έ)ranging from 9.77×10^(−14)s^(−1)to 6.52×10^(−16)s^(−1).The finite strain of the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone indicates an elongated strain *** average kinematic vorticity of the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone is 0.88,implying that the shear zone is dominated by simple *** muscovite selected from the protomylonite samples in the Guoxuepu ductile shear zone yields a 40Ar-39Ar age of 60.09±0.38 *** is suggested that,coeval with the initial Indo–Eurasian collision,the development of strike-slip faults led to a weak and unstable crust,upwelling of lower crust magma,then induced the detachment of the Jitang metamorphic complex in the Eocene.

Mg-based alloys are regarded as highly promising materials for hydrogen *** significant improvements of the properties for Mg-based alloys,challenges such as slow hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics and high thermodynamic stability continue to limit their practical *** this study,to assess hydrogen storage alloys with enhanced properties,incorporating both internal microstructure modulation through the preparation of amorphous/nanocrystalline structures and surface property enhancement with the addition of Cu and carbon nanotubes(CNTs),the kinetic properties of activation and hydrogenation,thermodynamic properties,and dehydrogenation kinetics are *** results reveal a complementary interaction between the added Cu and CNTs,contributing to the superior hydrogen storage performance observed in sample 7A-2Cu-1CNTs with an amorphous/nanocrystalline structure compared to the other experimental ***,the samples are fully activated after the initial hydrogen absorption and desorption cycle,demonstrating outstanding hydrogenation kinetics under both high and low temperature experimental *** noteworthy is that the hydrogen absorption exceeds 1.8 wt.%within one hour at 333 ***,the activation energy for dehydrogenation is decreased to 64.71 kJ·mol^(–1).This research may offer novel insights for the design of new-type Mg-based hydrogen storage alloys,which possess milder conditions for hydrogen absorption and desorption.

Ce/BEA has great potential as a passive NO_(x)absorber(PNA)to reduce the NO_(x)emissions during the cold start phase especially in diesel engine for its high resistance to CO and suitable NO_(x)desorption temperature ***,as a novel material,its physical and chemical properties still remain *** this work,Ce/BEA was synthesized by ion-exchange method to identify the active species in NO_(x)adsorption,compared with aggregated Ce species in Ce/SiAlO_(x) prepared by impregnation method.X-ray diffraction(XRD),high resolution-transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM)and aberration-corrected-scanning transmission electron microscopy(AC-STEM)were performed to confirm the isolated single atom formation of Ce species in Ce/***-vis diffraction reflection spectra(DRS)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)were conducted to find the difference of chemical environment between the isolated Ce species and aggregated *** performance evaluation and temperature programmed reduction of hydrogen(H_(2)-TPR)results show the high NO_(x)storage capacity and active oxygen species quantity in Ce/*** is also found that the main NO_(x)adsorption species are Ce^(4+)-O^(∗)rather than Ce^(3+).NO_(x)-diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(NO_(x)-DRIFTS)confirms that the bidentate nitrite species are the critical NO_(x)adsorption intermediates and the conception of NO_(x)adsorption and desorption processes is proposed.

Ce/BEA has the potential to be applied as a novel passive NO_(x)absorber(PNA)in the after-treatment of vehicles due to its considerable NO_(x)storage ***,as a vehicle exhaust after-treatment material,it must withstand the test of long-term hydrothermal *** work examined the deactivation mechanism of Ce/BEA during hydrothermal aging.3.0 wt%Ce/BEA was prepared using the ionexchange method,and then subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 650℃with 10%H_(2)O for 1-12 h to obtain samples with different aging *** comparison,the H-BEA support was aged under the same ***-Emmett-Teller(BET)method,X-ray diffraction(XRD),NH_(3)temperature programmed reduction(NH_(3)-TPD),^(27)Al MAS nuclear magnetic resonance(^(27)Al MAS NMR),H_(2)temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),and high resolution-transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM)were performed to characterize the changes in PNA performance,structure,Ce species,and *** HR-TEM and H_(2)-TPR results show that CeO_(x)particles appear after hydrothermal aging,which results from the detachment and aggregation of active Ce *** on the^(27)Al MAS NMR results,we conclude that BEA zeolite dealumination leads to the loss of acidic sites and the transformation of active Ce species on the acidic sites into the less active CeO_(x).This is the primary reason for the hydrothermal aging deactivation of Ce/BEA.

Divergent responses of runoff to climate change in the upper basins of the Third Pole dominated by westerlies and monsoon

The diverse climates,distribution of snow and glaciers,and geographic locations directly affect the runoff response to climate change in the upper basins of the Third *** present,a comprehensive analysis of runoff variations and their distinct responses to climate change in the westerlies-and monsoon-dominated upper basins is still *** study comprehensively analyzed annual runoff variations in westerlies-dominated basins(the upper basins of the Aksu(UAKS),Syr Darya(USRD),Yarkant(UYK),Hotan(UHT),Amu Darya(UAMD),and Indus(UI))and monsoon-dominated basins(the upper basins of the Yangtze(UYA),Yellow(UYE),Lancang(ULC),Nujiang(UNJ),and Yarlung Zangbo(UYZ))of the Third Pole from 1961 *** multi-source meteorological data and large-scale circulation factors,this study investigated the divergent responses of runoff in the upper basins to climate change,and explored the large-scale circulation mechanisms underlying runoff variations in these upper *** results showed that:(1)The annual runoff in the majority of upper basins(except for the UYE and UYZ)exhibited an increasing trend,and the annual runoff in the UAKS,UYK,and UI showed a significant increasing trend from1961 to *** annual runoff in the upper basins of the Third Pole changed abruptly from decreasing to increasing between the 1980s and 2000s,with the exception of the UYE.(2)The runoff in the monsoon-dominated upper basins has been controlled primarily by changes in precipitation over the past 55 *** contrast,the runoff in the westerlies-dominated upper basins exhibited three distinct long-term responses to climate change:temperature-dominated(UYK and UHT),precipitation-dominated(USRD and UAMD),and the combined influence of precipitation and temperature(UAKS and UI).Since the 1960s,the sensitivity of runoff to warm season temperature changes in the most westerlies-dominated upper basins has decreased,while the response of runoff to precipitation changes has intensified.(3)The stud

Bed inventory balance and stability of dual circulating fluidized bed systems

Experiments and modelling are conducted for general understanding on the imbalance phenomenon and for discussion on the strategies to improve the bed inventory balance and stability of a dual circulating fluidized bed(DCFB)*** experiments are carried out in a 15.5 m high pilot-scale DCFB cold test system.A fluid-dynamic DCFB model is developed based on a 1.5-dimensional semi-empirical model of an industrial CFB boiler,validated by experimental *** effects of control methods and operation conditions on the bed inventory balance and on the stability of the pilot-and large-scale DCFB systems are discussed.A"stable-unbalanced"state,where the system reaches a steady state,consisting of un-balanced bed inventories,is observed in both experiments and model *** maintain a balanced state and similar bed inventory in the DCFB systems with similar cross-sectional areas,it is recom-mended to keep similar total pressure drops or gas velocities in both reactors.

Hybrid-Vlasov simulation of soft X-ray emissions at the earth’s dayside magnetospheric boundaries

Solar wind charge exchange produces emissions in the soft X-ray energy range which can enable the study of near-earth space regions such as the magnetopause,the magnetosheath and the polar cusps by remote sensing *** Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)and Lunar Environment heliospheric X-ray Imager(LEXI)missions aim to obtain soft Xray images of near-earth space thanks to their Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)*** earlier modeling works have already simulated soft X-ray images as might be obtained by SMILE SXI during its mission,the numerical models used so far are all based on the magnetohydrodynamics description of the space *** investigate the possible signatures of ion-kinetic-scale processes in soft Xray images,we use for the first time a global hybrid-Vlasov simulation of the geospace from the Vlasiator *** simulation is driven by fast and tenuous solar wind conditions and purely southward interplanetary magnetic *** first produce global X-ray images of the dayside near-earth space by placing a virtual imaging satellite at two different locations,providing meridional and equatorial *** then analyze regional features present in the images and show that they correspond to signatures in soft X-ray emissions of mirrormode wave structures in the magnetosheath and flux transfer events(FTEs)at the *** results suggest that,although the time scales associated with the motion of those transient phenomena will likely be significantly smaller than the integration time of the SMILE and LEXI imagers,mirror-mode structures and FTEs can cumulatively produce detectable signatures in the soft X-ray *** instance,a local increase by 30%in the proton density at the dayside magnetopause resulting from the transit of multiple FTEs leads to a 12%enhancement in the line-of-sight-and time-integrated soft X-ray emissivity originating from this ***,a proton density increase by 14%in the magnetosheath

Comparative Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Building Exterior Surface at High and Low Altitudes

The external surface heat transfer coefficient of building envelope is one of the important parameters necessary for building energy saving design,but the basic data in high-altitude area are ***,the authors propose a modified measurement method based on the heat balance of a model building,and use the same model building to measure its external surface heat transfer coefficient under outdoor conditions in Chengdu city,China at an altitude of 520 m and Daocheng city at an altitude of 3750 m *** results show that the total heat transfer coefficient(h_(t))of building surface in high-altitude area is reduced by 34.48%.The influence of outdoor wind speed on the convective heat transfer coefficient(h_(c))in high-altitude area is not as significant as that in low-altitude *** fitting relation between convection heat transfer coefficient and outdoor wind speed is also *** the same heating power,the average temperature rise of indoor and outdoor air at highaltitude is 41.9%higher than that at low altitude,and the average temperature rise of inner wall is 25.8%higher than that at low *** shows that high-altitude area can create a more comfortable indoor thermal environment than low-altitude area under the same energy consumption *** is not appropriate to use the heat transfer characteristics of the exterior surface of buildings in low-altitude area for building energy saving design and related heating equipment selection and system terminal matching design in high-altitude area.
