Background:Patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)are at inc.eased risk of herpes zoster(HZ).We evaluated the inc.dence of HZ in ulcerative colitis(UC)and Crohn’s disease(CD)patients and compared this with HZ inc.dence in a non-IBD ***:We conducted a retrospective cohort study(GSK study identifier:VEO-000043)of adults aged18 years with UC and CD and without IBD who were identified from claims recorded in a US healthcare database between October 2015 and February *** HZ inc.dence rates/1,000 person-years(PY)were calculated,and comparisons of HZ inc.dence rates between UC or CD and non-IBD cohorts were made using adjusted generalized linear ***:The study population comprised a total of 29,928 UC,25,959 CD,and 11,839,329 non-IBD *** overall HZ inc.dence rates were 13.64/1,000 PY(UC),15.94/1,000 PY(CD),and 7.95/1,000 PY(non-IBD).UC and CD patients had inc.eased HZ inc.dence rates,with adjusted inc.dence rate ratios of 1.35(95%confidence interval[CI],1.26–1.44)and 1.66(95%CI,1.56–1.77),respectively,compared with non-IBD *** analysis indicated inc.eased relative rates of HZ in progressively younger age strata in the UC and CD patients compared with non-IBD *** inc.dence rates were higher in UC and CD patients who had previously received thiopurines or methotrexate,TNF-inhibitors,or corticosteroids than in UC and CD patients who did not take those ***:UC and CD patients had inc.eased HZ inc.dence rates compared with patients without IBD,demonstrating the importance of HZ prevention in IBD patients.

Based on the natural and social conditions as well as hydrogeological characteristics of the Ryukyu limestone, a major aquifer in the Ryukyu Islands, a conception of underground dam, was proposed in the early 1970s in order to develop ground water resources in the Quaternary Ryukyu limestone regions of Japan. The practice of nearly thirty years has shown that the underground dam is an environment-friendly and effective way for developing ground water in these regions.

This paper develops a new combined network equilibrium model by using more behaviorally sound mathematical forms to represent the four travel choices（i.e., trip frequency,destination, mode, and route） in a conventional travel demand forecasting process. Trip frequency choice relates to the traveler decision on “making a trip” or “not making a trip”so it is given by a binary logit model. Destination choice is formulated as a parameterized dogit model of which the captivity parameters（expressed as functions of independent variables） allow individual travelers to be captive to specific destinations. Mode choice is given by a two-level nested logit model to avoid IIA restriction. Trip assignment is based on Wardrop＇s “user-optimized” princ.ple. All model forms describing travel choices are in response to the level of services inc.rred by the transportation system. Through the introduction of inc.usive values, the traveler decisions concerning trip frequency, destination, mode, and route choices are inherently interrelated and jointly *** obtain solutions of the new combined model, it was reformulated as an equivalent convex programming problem with linear constraints, a great advantage from the computational aspects. The model was applied empirically to a transportation network in New Jersey. The application results show that the new model is consistently better than the commonly used logit combined model in reproducing the observed trip flows from origin zones, origin to destination（O-D） trip flows, O-D trip flows by mode, and trip flows on the network links.

This paper proposes a method for multi-model ensemble forecasting based on Bayesian model averaging （BMA）, aiming to improve the accuracy of tropical cyclone （TC） intensity forecasts, especially forecasts of minimum surface pressure at the cyclone center （Pmin）＇ The multi-model ensemble comprises three operational forecast models： the Global Forecast System （GFS） of NCEP, the Hurricane Weather Research and Forecasting （HWRF） models of NCEP, and the Integrated Forecasting System （IFS） of ECMWF. The mean of a predictive distribution is taken as the BMA forecast. In this investigation, bias correction of the minimum surface pressure was applied at each forecast lead time, and the distribution （or probability density function, PDF） of emin was used and transformed. Based on summer season forecasts for three years, we found that the intensity errors in TC forecast from the three models var-ied significantly. The HWRF had a much smaller intensity error for short lead-time forecasts. To demonstrate the proposed methodology, cross validation was implemented to ensure more efficient use of the sample data and more reliable testing. Comparative analysis shows that BMA for this three-model ensemble, after bias correction and distri-bution transformation, provided more accurate forecasts than did the best of the ensemble members （HWRF）, with a 5%-7% decrease in root-mean-square error on average. BMA also outperformed the multi-model ensemble, and it produced ＂predictive variance＂ that represented the forecast uncertainty of the member models. In a word, the BMA method used in the multi-model ensemble forecasting was successful in TC intensity forecasts, and it has the poten-tial to be applied to routine operational forecasting.

This paper proposes a mixed integer programming model for the allocation of rail mounted gantry cranes for four basic yard activities with different priorities. The model pays special attention to the typical features of this kind of gantry cranes, such as a restricted traveling range and a limited number of adjustments during loading and discharging operations. In contrast to most of the literature dealing with these four yard activities individually, this paper models them into an integrated problem, whose computational complexity is proved to be NP-hard. We are therefore motivated to develop a Lagrangian relaxation-based heuristic to solve the problem. We compare the proposed heuristic with the branch-and-bound method that uses commercial software packages. Extensive computational results show that the proposed heuristic achieves competitive solution qualities for solving the tested problems.

Electric vehicles (evs) are instrumental in balancing the operation of the transportation networks and grids for the dual attribute of power and traffic load. Current research community has gained significant efforts on key technologies for the integration of electric vehicle-charging station-transportation network-grid (VSNGI). Therefore， a synthetic review on this domain is needed. In this context， the VSNGI research inc.uded in the Web of Science (WOS) was synthetically analyzed using bibliometric methods， the software VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The results show that the internationally interested VSNGI research is in a period of rapid development in terms of publication volume， national， institutional， and journal performance. The cited literature provided work accumulation in five aspects: “the impact and control of evs on the grid”， “design of ev charging stations”， “integration of charging stations and grids”， “integration of charging stations and transportation networks” and “coupling of the transportation network and grid”. Then， the latest progress was summarized in four aspects: “characterization methods of spatiotemporal features of road network demand and grid load”， “SNG collaborative layout technology”， “VSN orderly guidance technology”， and “VNG interactive response technology”. Lastly， the problems and prospects in the VSNGI research were discussed. The joint efforts of researchers from multiple disciplines are required by the development of the VSNGI field. The VSNGI research will be of crucial significance in the transformation of the transportation field.
