Studying farmers’behavior affected by economic incentive is necessary to promote positive behavior among farmers toward protecting the quantity,quality,and ecological environment of cultivated *** this study,we investigated the current situation regarding economic incentive policies for cultivated land protection,which has attracted the attention of Chinese ***,we focused on the earliest pilot scheme(i.e.,Cultivated Land Protection Fund,CLPF)implemented in the west of china since 2008 to empirically analyze farmers’*** analysis and path analysis methods were applied,with data collected from 296 *** results showed that positive actions,including the enhancement of initiatives to protect cultivated land,the improvement of ecological environment of cultivated land,and the investment in agricultural infrastructure,have been adopted by farmers since the implementation of the ***,gender,education level,labor force size,cultivated land area,migration out of traditional farming areas,average annual household income,and farmers’knowledge of the policy impacted significantly on farmers’*** the premise of comprehensive consideration of the diversity of farmers’livelihoods,new communication technologies and sufficient funds,we suggested that a long-term and sustainable project should be established at the national level to effectively compensate farmers.

china’s urban agglomerations have gradually become new world economic centers and strategic regions under the initiatives of"The Belt and Road."Various researchers have long been interested in the issues encountered during the development of urban ***,systematic research analyzing issues in the development of china’s urban agglomeration are relatively *** the basis of a brief introduction to the concept of urban agglomeration and the status of current development in china,this paper analyzes current issues in china’s urban agglomerations from the perspectives of spatial attribution,function,resources,and environmental utilization as well as new patterns in urban agglomeration,which reaches the following conclusions:conficts exist between spatial identifcation and layouts in urban agglomerations;issues such as,unsound internally functioning systems,improper land utilization,and stressful resource and environmental pressures still prevail in certain urban agglomerations;in addition,the number and layouts of newly constructed areas in urban agglomerations are controversial because some new areas are eager to develop new cities but have neglected their transitions from and interactions with older districts,thus wasting resources *** paper also proposes certain suggestions regarding the problems mentioned *** short,these fndings will elucidate a fresh perspective and ideas for researchers studying urban agglomeration and offer references related to policy making concerning china’s urban agglomerations in the future.

In recent years,regional floods and typhoons have occurred in the Yangtze *** dynamic conditions and dramatic reduction of sediment discharge in the basin are affecting the dynamic equilibrium pattern of the Yangtze *** on the field measurement data and theoretical derivation,this paper analyzed the changing process of runoff-sediment discharge into the sea after the operation of the Three Gorges Project(TGP),and the tidal dynamics and sediment variation characteristics of the Yangtze *** erosion of South Branch mainly occurs in the channel below-10 m contour,and the riverbed volume below contours 0 m and-10 m has a good correlation with the sediment discharge of Datong Station in the previous *** this basis,the ratio of the horizontal distance from the starting point to the section centroid below the average water level(B_c)and the water depth at the section centroid(H_c)was proposed to describe the change of the section *** relationships between the water-diverting ratio,the sediment-diverting ratio and the water-diverting angle,the conditions of runoff and sediment discharge from the upper reach and the characteristics of the riverway section were established,and the theoretical calculation equations of the water-diverting ratio,the sediment-diverting ratio and the diverting angle of each bifurcation were also established.

Tropical cyclones(TCs)may cause severe impacts on the activities of coastal fishing *** to the unavailability or unacceptability of detailed Automatic Identification System(AIS)data that are capable of differentiating fishing activity from navigation,as well as the lack of detailed models and observation data of TC winds,few studies have provided quantitative and reliable assessment of the impacts of TCs on fishing *** this study,we modeled snapshots for the TC winds of 52 TCs over the Northwest Pacific(NWP)basin from 2013 to 2018,as well as daily fishing hours and daily hours of presence(hereafter“vessel hours”)of fishing *** on these data,the spatiotemporal pattern of fishing vessel activity over off-shore china was first analyzed and ***,a TC wind hazard index and absolute and relative impact indices were proposed to assess the impact of the 52 TCs on fishing and vessel *** relationship was then fitted with the cumulative distribution function(CDF)of the log-normal *** results show that in the 2013-2018 period,the most active fishing areas were located in the South china *** each instance,an increase was first observed in the initial several years;then a decrease followed in the yearly total fishing hours per vessel in the remaining *** relative impact index was significantly correlated to the TC wind hazard index proposed in this *** on the quantitative relationship between the specified TC hazard index and the impact indices,it is possible to implement a pre-cyclone rapid loss assessment due to TC avoidance in the future.

By applying stochastic frontier analysis,and replacing total export with value added in exports as a more accurate measure of domestic content embodied in exports,we estimate the trade efficiency between china and eu countries and analyze the determinant *** results show that the value added in trade between china and eu countries is running at a low level of efficiency,and the trade efficiency has an obvious imbalance between export and *** calculation of unexplored trade potential indicates that western eu countries,such as France,Germany,Italy,and Spain together are china 5 top trading partner with the highest unexploited trade *** on the principal component analysis of 14 trading-related variables,trade efficiency determinant results show that the tangible trade infrastructures of both exporter and importer matters most,including airports,container shipping,Internet,and broadband ***,intangible trade infrastructures,including customs procedures and domestic business environments,has a significant,but smaller influence on trade *** important findings shed light on practical trade policymaking to encourage Sino-eu trade collaboration.

The Helan Mountain lies in the northwest margin of Ordos basin and its uplift periods have close relations with the tectonic feature and evolution of the *** are many views on the uplift time of Helan Mountain,which is Late Triassic and Late *** is concluded by the present strata,magmatic rock and hot fluid distribution that the Helan Mountain does not uplift in Late Triassic to Middle Jurassic but after Middle *** the research of the sedimentary strata and deposit rate in Yinchuan Graben which is near to the Helan Mountain,it is proved that the Helan Mountain uplifts in Eocene with a huge scale and in Pliocene with a rapid *** fission track analysis of apatite and zircon can be used to determine the precise uplift time of Helan Mountain,which shows that four stages of uplifting or cooling:Late Jurassic to the early stage of Early Cretaceous,mid-late stage of Early Cretaceous,Late Cretaceous and since *** the later two stages the uplift is most apparent and the mid-late stage of Early Cretaceous is a regional cooling *** with several analysis ways,it is considered that the earliest time of Helan Mountain uplift is Late Jurassic with a limited scale and that Late Cretaceous uplift is corresponding to the whole uplift of Ordos basin,extensive uplift happened in Eocene and rapid uplift in Pliocene.

Check-dam construction is an effective and widely used method for sediment trapping in the Yellow river basin and other places over the world that are prone to severe soil *** estimations of the dynamic sediment trapped by check dams are necessary for evaluating the effects of check dams and planning the construction of new *** this study,we propose a new framework,named soil and water assessment tool(SWAT)–dynamic check dam(DCDam),for modeling the sediment trapped by check dams dynamically,by integrating the widely utilized SWAT model and a newly developed module called *** then applied this framework to a typical loess watershed,the Yan river basin,to assess the time-varying effects of check-dam networks over the past 60 years(1957–2016).The DCDam module generated a specific check-dam network to conceptualize the complex connections at each time step(monthly).In addition,the streamflow and sediment load simulated by using the SWAT model were employed to force the sediment routing in the check-dam *** evaluation results revealed that the SWAT-DCDam framework performed satisfactorily,with an overestimation of 11.50%,in simulating sediment trapped by check dams,when compared with a field survey of the accumulated sediment *** the Yan river basin,our results indicated that the designed structural parameters of check dams have evolved over the past 60 years,with higher dams(37.14%and 9.22%increase for large dams and medium dams,respectively)but smaller controlled areas(46.03%and 10.56%decrease for large dams and medium dams,respectively)in recent *** retained by check dams contributed to approximately 15.00%of the total sediment load reduction in the Yan river during 1970–***,our developed framework can be a promising tool for evaluating check-dam effects,and this study can provide valuable information and support to decision-making for soil and water conservation and check-dam planning and management.
