In the present day,there is a growing trend of employing new strategies to synthesize hybrid nanoparticles,which involve combining various functionalities into a single nanocomposite *** modern methods differ significantly from the traditional classical approaches and have emerged at the forefront of materials *** fabrication of hybrid nanomaterials presents an unparalleled opportunity for applica-tions in a wide range of areas,including therapy to *** focus of this review article is to shed light on the different modalities of hybrid nanoparticles,providing a concise description of hybrid silver nano-particles,exploring various modes of synthesis and classification of hybrid silver nanoparticles,and highlighting their ***-tionally,we discussed core-shell silver nanoparticles and various types of core and shell combinations based on the material category,such as dielectric,metal,or *** two primary classes of hybrid silver nanoparticles were also ***,various hybrid nanoparticles and their methods of synthesis were discussed but we emphasize silica as a suitable candidate for hybridization alongside metal *** choice is due to its hydrophilic surface qualities and high surface charge,which provide the desired repulsive forces to minimize aggregation between the metal nanoparticles in the liquid *** shell encapsulation also provides chemical inertness,robustness and the adaptability to the desired hybrid ***,among all the materials used to coat metal nanoparticles;silica is highly approved.

The advancement in technologies made the entire manufacturing system,to be operated with more efficient,flexible,user friendly,more productive and cost *** such a system to be focused for advancement is plasma cutting system,which has wider industrial *** are many researches pursuing at various area of plasma cutting technology,still the automated and optimized parameters value selection is *** work is aimed to eliminate the manual mode of feeding the input parameters for cutting *** present,cutting parameters are fed by referring the past cut data information or with the assistance of experienced *** cutting process parameters selections will have direct impact on the quality of the material being cut,and life of the *** paper is intended to automate the process parameters selection by developing the mathematical model with existing cutting process parameters *** this,three different approaches,multiple regression,multiple polynomial regression and AI technique,are selected and analyzed with the mathematical relations developed between the different cutting process *** accuracy and reliability of those methods are *** advantage and disadvantage of those methods for optimal setting conditions are *** appropriate method that can be preferred for automated and optimal settings are ***,the selected technique is checked for accuracy and reliability for the existing cut data.

The sitting state of a sunken ship is usually related to the water depth, ship type, damage position, deadweight, and weight and density of the cargo. In salvage operation different means must be adopted according to the sitting state of the sunken ship to make the ship refloat. Refloating a big-angle tilted sunken ship is difficult, and uprighting a ship underwater is the most complicated procedure in salvage operation. This paper, based on practical experiences, systematizes and presents the calculating methods of uprighting sunken ships underwater.

Reducing idleness in financial cloud services via multi-objective evolutionary reinforcement learning based load balancer

In recent years, various companies have started to shift their data services from traditional data centers to the cloud. One of the major motivations is to save on operational costs with the aid of cloud elasticity. This paper discusses an emerging need from financial services to reduce the incidence of idle servers retaining very few user connections, without disconnecting them from the server side. This paper considers this need as a bi-objective online load balancing problem. A neural network based scalable policy is designed to route user requests to varied numbers of servers for the required elasticity. An evolutionary multi-objective training framework is proposed to optimize the weights of the policy. Not only is the new objective of idleness reduced by over 130% more than traditional industrial solutions, but the original load balancing objective itself is also slightly improved. Extensive simulations with both synthetic and real-world data help reveal the detailed applicability of the proposed method to the emergent problem of reducing idleness in financial services.

Development and Application of Oil-Spill Risk Assessment Model for Offshore Pipeline

To the potential oil-spill risk caused by offshore pipeline more attention has been paid after the Dalian oil spill incident from oil-pipeline explosion. Since then an issue about how to prevent and control the sudden oil-spill from the offshore pipeline has been raised. In this paper, we proposed an optimized model to analyze the main causes(probability) of spill and the consequence with the fuzzy comprehensive assessment model. Considering the complicated assessment process for oil-spill, the assessment factor system involving the spill probability and consequence was established based on the operative manual and statistic leakage/damage data of offshore pipeline in order to estimate the integrated spill risk score automatically. The evaluated factors of spill probability could be grouped into five aspects: corrosion, fatigue, national damage, third party, and operational fault; the consequence evaluated factors of spill included hazard of oil and impact-controlling capability. With some modifications based on experts' opinions, each of the evaluated factors in our work was developed with a relative weight and evaluation criterion. A test example for an offshore pipeline in the Bohai waters was described to show how the model can be used for an actual case in more detail. By using the oil-spill risk assessment model, it is easy to determine the risk level associated with the ongoing activity and management level and hence to take the risk mitigation action immediately.

Prediction Methods of Spudcan Penetration for Jack-up Units

Jack-up units are extensively playing a successful role in drilling engineering around the world, and their safety and efficiency take more and more attraction in both research and engineering practice. An accurate prediction of the spudcan penetration depth is quite instrumental in deciding on whether a jack-up unit is feasible to operate at the site. The prediction of a too large penetration depth may lead to the hesitation or even rejection of a site due to potential difficulties in the subsequent extraction process; the same is true of a too small depth prediction due to the problem of possible instability during operation. However, a deviation between predictive results and final field data usually exists, especially when a strong-over-soft soil is included in the strata. The ultimate decision sometimes to a great extent depends on the practical experience, not the predictive results given by the guideline. It is somewhat risky, but no choice. Therefore, a feasible predictive method for the spudcan penetration depth, especially in strata with strong-over-soft soil profile, is urgently needed by the jack-up industry. In view of this, a comprehensive investigation on methods of predicting spudcan penetration is executed. For types of different soil profiles, predictive methods for spudcan penetration depth are proposed, and the corresponding experiment is also conducted to validate these methods. In addition, to further verify the feasibility of the proposed methods, a practical engineering case encountered in the South China Sea is also presented, and the corresponding numerical and experimental results are also presented and discussed.

Potential fly-ash utilization in agriculture:A global review

Though in last four decades various alternate energy sources have come into the limelight, the hyperbolic use of coal as a prime energy source cannot be counterbalanced. Disposal of high amount of fly-ash from thermal power plants absorbs huge amount of water, energy and land area by ash ponds. In order to meet the growing energy demand, various environmental, economic and social problems associated with the disposal of fly-ash would continue to increase. Therefore, fly-ash management would remain a great concern of the century. Fly-ash has great potentiality in agriculture due to its efficacy in modification of soil health and crop performance. The high concentration of elements (K, Na, Zn, Ca, Mg and Fe) in fly-ash increases the yield of many agricultural crops. But compared to other sectors, the use of fly-ash in agriculture is limited. An exhaustive review of numerous studies of last four decades took place in this paper, which systematically covers the importance, scope and apprehension regarding utilization of fly-ash in agriculture. The authors concluded that though studies have established some solutions to handle the problems of radioactivity and heavy metal content in fly-ash, long-term confirmatory research and demonstration are necessary. This paper also identified some areas, like proper handling of dry ash in plants as well as in fields, ash pond management (i.e., faster decantation, recycling of water, vertical expansion rather than horizontal), monitoring of soil health, crop quality, and fate of fly-ash in time domain, where research thrust is required. Agricultural lime application contributes to global warming as Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assumes that all the carbon in agricultural lime is finally released as CO2 to the atmosphere. It is expected that use of fly-ash instead of lime in agriculture can reduce net CO2 emission, thus reduce global warming also.

Effects of CO_2 Dilution on Methane Ignition in Moderate or Intense Low-oxygen Dilution(MILD) Combustion:A Numerical Study

Homogeneous mixtures of CH4/air under moderate or intense low-oxygen dilution（MILD） combustion conditions were numerically studied to clarify the fundamental effects of exhaust gas recirculation（EGR）,espe-cially CO2 in EGR gases,on ignition ***,effects of CO2 addition on autoignition delay time were emphasized at temperature between 1200 K and 1600 K for a wide range of the lean-to-rich equivalence ratio（0.2~2）.The results showed that the ignition delay time increased with equivalence ratio or CO2 dilution ***-thermore,ignition delay time was seen to be exponentially related with the reciprocal of initial *** concern was given to the chemical effects of CO2 on the ignition delay *** enhancement of ignition delay time with CO2 addition can be mainly ascribed to the decrease of H,O and OH *** predictions of tem-perature profiles and mole fractions of CO and CO2 were strongly related to the chemical effects of CO2.A single ignition time correlation was obtained in form of Arrhenius-type for the entire range of conditions as a function of temperature,CH4 mole fraction and O2 mole *** correlation could successfully capture the complex be-haviors of ignition of CH4/air/CO2 *** results can be applied to MILD combustion as ＂reference time＂,for example,to predict ignition delay time in turbulent reacting flow.

SVM Algorithm for Vibration Fault Diagnosis in Centrifugal Pump

Vibration failure in the pumping system is a signiﬁcant issue for indus-tries that rely on the pump as a critical device which requires regular *** save energy and money,a new automated system must be developed that can detect anomalies at an early *** paper presents a case study of a machine learning(ML)-based computational technique for automatic fault detection in a cascade pumping system based on variable frequency drive(VFD).Since the intensity of the vibrational effect depends on which axis has the most signiﬁcant effect,a three-axis accelerometer is used to measure it in the pumping *** emphasis is on determining the vibration effect on different *** experiment,various ML algorithms are investigated on collected vibratory data through Matlab software in x,y,z axes and performances of the algorithms are compared based on accuracy rate,prediction speed and training *** on the proposed research results,the multiclass support vector machine(MSVM)is found to be the best suitable algorithm compared to other *** has been demonstrated that ML algorithms can detect faults automatically rather than conventional *** is used for the proposed work because it is less complex and pro-duces better results with a limited data set.
