co-aromatization of methane and hexane over Pt encapsulated in ZSM-5 zeolite and the electronic effect of K promoters

The co-aromatization of methane with higher hydrocarbons represents a promising route to valorize methane, an abundant but underexploited carbon resource. In this study, we elucidate a novel approach to enhance the catalytic co-aromatization of hexane and methane by confining Pt within zeolite catalysts and modulating its electron density. Our findings show that encapsulating Pt within MFI structure is pivotal for activating the feedstock and fostering the formation of aromatic products. Interaction between K atoms and the silanol nest forms siloxy groups which are critical for the stabilization of Pt species. Tuning the K content in PtSn@MFI catalysts adeptly alters the electronic configuration of Pt clusters. This modification is corroborated by infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis, and density functional theory calculations. Remarkably, the catalyst with 0.8 wt% K exhibits an optimal Pt electron density, driving its superior efficacy in the co-aromatization reaction, converting 0.78 mol of methane for each mole of hexane processed. By employing ~(13)c isotopic labeling and solid-state NMR studies, we demonstrate the participation of methane in the adsorbed species inside the zeolite channel and its incorporation to the benzyl site of the substitute group and phenyl rings in aromatic compounds, underscoring the importance of Pt encapsulation.

Psychiatric outcomes in outpatients affected by long cOVID:A link between mental health and persistence of olfactory complaint

BAcKGROUND Anosmia was one of the main symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019(cOVID-19).A psychiatric history(i.e.,depression)may be an independent contributor to the risk of cOVID-19 diagnosis,and cOVID-19 survivors appear to have an increased risk of neuropsychiatric sequelae(bidirectional association).AIM To compare the rate of psychiatric disorder among post-cOVID patients without anosmia vs patients with persistent olfactory *** We conducted a prospective case control study from March 2020 to May *** recruited at the eNT department of Nice University Hospital had a subjective olfactory complaint(visual analogue scale)for over 6 wk and a molecular or cT-proven severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 diagnosis confirmed by ***-cOVID patients without persistent olfactory disorders were recruited at the university hospital infectiology *** medical histories were collected by a psychiatrist during the *** Thirty-four patients with post-cOVID-19 olfactory complaints were included in the first group of the *** percent of the patients were female(n=17).The group’s mean age was 40.5±12.9 *** control group included 32 participants,of which 34.4%were female(n=11),and had a mean age of 61.2±12.2 *** rate of psychiatric disorder among post-cOVID patients with olfactory complaints was significatively higher(41.7%)than among patients without(18.8%)(χ2=5.9,P=0.015).cONcLUSION The presence of a psychiatric history may constitute a potential risk factor for the development of long cOVID due to persistent *** therefore seems important to establish reinforced health monitoring after a cOVID 19 infection in at-risk *** prospective,translational,and collaborative studies are needed to extrapolate these results to the general population.

Health risks of pest control and disinfection workers after the cOVID-19 outbreak in South Korea

The exposure patterns of pest control and disinfection workers have changed after the coronavirus disease 2019(cOVID-19)outbreak,but the health risks of chemical exposure have not been *** identified these workers’chemical exposure patterns and risks before and after the cOVID-19 *** used data conducted between 2018(pre-pandemic)and 2021(post-pandemic)from three-year cross-sectional surveys on pest control and disinfection *** and dermal exposure concentrations were estimated using equations based on a biocidal product risk assessment model from the Korean National Institute of environmental *** non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks of chemicals were calculated using the United States environmental Protection Agency risk assessment *** found that the annual work frequency(50^(th)percentile)of foggers using disinfectants increased the most among all the work types,from 140 uses/year to 176 uses/year after the cOVID-19 ***,all chemicals’non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks increased regardless of exposure *** the worst scenario(95^(th)percentile),the margin of exposure for citric acid,benzethonium chloride,benzyl-c12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides,and sodium chlorite of inhalation exposure,and isopropyl alcohol and benzyl-c12-16-alkyldimethyl chlorides of dermal exposure were acceptable(>100)before the cOVID-19outbreak but became unacceptable(er the cOVID-19 *** risks of dichlorvos from inhalation and dermal exposure were above acceptable levels(>10^(-6))before and after the cOVID-19 outbreak but comparatively high after the cOVID-19 ***,significantly more workers experienced health symptoms after the cOVID-19outbreak(pe most common being muscle lethargy(31%),skin/face stinging(28.7%),and breath shortness/neck pain(24.1%).

A comprehensive Analysis of the Thermo-chemical Properties of Sudanese Biomass for Sustainable Applications

The.c.emical composition and thermal properties of natural fibers are the most critical variables that determine the overall properties of the fibers and influence their processing and use in different sustainable applications,such as their conversion into bioenergy and *** thermal and mechanical properties can be estimated by evaluating the content of cellulose,lignin,and other extractives in the *** this research work,the.c.emical composition and thermal properties of three fibers,namely bagasse,kenaf bast fibers,and cotton stalks,were evaluated to assess their potential utilization in producing biocomposites and bioenergy *** chemical composition analysis followed the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry Standards(TAPPI)*** total phenol content was quantified using the Folin-ciocalteu method,while Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)was employed to assess the light absorption by the *** evaluate thermal stability and higher heating values,Thermogravimetric Analysis(TGA),Differential Scanning calorimetry(DSc),and bomb calorimetry were *** chemical analysis revealed that bagasse contained 50.6%cellulose and 21.6%lignin,kenaf bast fibers had 58.5%cellulose and 10%lignin,and cotton stalks exhibited 40.3%cellulose and 21.3%*** FTIR curves demonstrated a notable similarity among the *** TGA analysis showed degradation temperatures of 321°c for bagasse,354°c for kenaf bast fibers,and 289°c for cotton *** DSc analysis revealed glass transition temperatures of 81°c for bagasse,66.3°c for cotton stalks,and 64.5°c for kenaf bast *** higher heating values were measured as 17.3,16.6 and 17.1 MJ/kg for bagasse,kenaf bast fibers,and cotton stalks,*** three fibers have a high potential for biocomposites and bioenergy material manufacturing.

The variability of juvenile dispersal in an opportunistic raptor

The juvenile dispersal of raptors is a crucial stage that stre.c.es from parental independence to the establishment of the first breeding *** 2012 and 2020,44 juvenile red kites Milvus milvus from the Spanish breeding population were tagged using GPS telemetry to study their *** left the parental breeding area at the end of their first summer and performed wandering movements throughout the Iberian Peninsula,returning to the parental breeding area the following year,repeating the same pattern until they settled in their first breeding *** analyzed the mean distance from the nest,the maximum re.c.ed distances,and the traveled distances(daily and hourly)during the first 2 years of dispersal and compared *** the high individual variability,variables describing the dispersal movements of juveniles showed a decreasing trend during the second dispersal year:80% of individuals re.c.ed a shorter maximum distance in the second year,70% decreased their mean distance to the nest,65% decreased their hourly traveled distances,and 50% decreased their daily traveled *** the other hand,the red kites usually combined wandering movements with the establishment of temporary settlement areas(TSA).The average duration of settlement in the TSAs was 75±40 days(up to 182 days)and was located at 182±168 km from the *** those areas,juveniles used 781.0±1895.0 km^(2)(KDe 95%).Some of the TSAs were used by several individuals,which suggests that these areas might be good targets for conservation in future management plans.
