A GaAs/GaInP dual junction solar cell grown by molecular beam epitaxy

We report the recent result of GaAs/GalnP dual-junction solar cells grown by all solid-state molecularbeam-epitaxy （MBE）. The device structure consists of a GaIn0.4sP homojunction grown epitaxially upon a GaAs homojunction, with an interconnected GaAs tunnel junction. A photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 27% under the AM1.5 globe light intensity is realized for a GaAs/GaInP dual-junction solar cell, while the efficiencies of 26% and 16.6% are reached for a GaAs bottom cell and a GaInP top cell, respectively. The energy loss mechanism of our GaAs/GalnP tandem dual-junction solar cells is discussed. It is demonstrated that the MBE-grown phosphide-containing Ⅲ-V compound semiconductor solar cell is very promising for achieving high energy conversion efficiency.

Controlling the densities of aligned single-walled carbon nanotube arrays （SWNTs） on ST-cut quartz is a critical step in various applications of these materials. However the growth mechanism for tuning SWNT density using the chemical vapor deposition （CVD） method is still not well understood, preventing the development of efficient ways to obtain the desired results. Here we report a general ＂periodic＂ approach that achieves ultrahigh density modulation of SWNT arrays on ST-cut quartz substrates--with densities increased by up to -60 times compared with conventional methods using the same catalyst densities--by varying the CH4 gas ＂off＂ time. This approach is applicable to a wide range of initial catalyst densities, substrates, catalyst types and growth conditions. We propose a general mechanism for the catalyst size-dependent nucleation of SWNTs associated with different free carbon concentrations, which explains all the observations. Moreover, the validity of the model is supported by systematic experiments involving the variation of key parameters in the ＂periodic＂ CVD approach.

The heat budget of sedimentary basins is determined by heat transfer across the lithosphereasthenosphere boundary and lithospheric heat sources,such that the tectonic evolution of their host continental and oceanic lithosphere ultimately impact the present-day heat flow and average geothermal *** increase in availability of publicly-accessible geothermal gradient measurements across the world provides an opportunity to globally assess the dominant controls on the thermal regime of sedimentary ***,we compile a global dataset of152,000 unique data points with constrained bottomhole temperature measurements and assess the relationships between geothermal gradient and selected independent tectonic variables,including crustal and lithospheric thicknesses,crustal age,sediment thickness,and basin *** results show that in both oceanic and continental settings,geothermal gradients exhibit a non-linear,systematic variation with the tectonic *** find that oceanic geothermal gradients decrease with increasing crustal age and lithospheric *** gradients in the continents show no clear relationships with thermotectonic crustal age,but decrease with increasing crustal and lithospheric *** drop significantly at 1.5 km sediment-cover thickness,likely reflecting the effect of high sedimentation rates,but show a striking rise at>12 km thicknesses,potentially influenced by thinned lithosphere and thermal blanketing *** commonly-assumed‘normal’gradient of 25℃/km for continents is only valid for a narrow range(1.5–12.5 km)of sedimentary cover-thickness,and oceanic‘normal’gradient may be as high as 50–75℃/km for>20 Ma crustal age and>50 km-thick *** show that,conditionally,crustal age may best predict average geothermal gradients in oceanic settings,and lithosphere thickness in ***,we observe that tectonic basin types exhibit distinct ranges of gradients that reflect their prevalent tec

Preparation and Performance of Rare Earths Chemical Conversion Film on Magnesium Alloy

Golden yellow cerium conversion film was obtained on magnesium alloys surface by immersion method and the preparation parameters were established. The influence of different process parameters on the surface morphology and performance of the conversion film were analyzed by means of SEM and electrochemical method. Formation dynamics about cerium conversion film on magnesium alloy in solution containing cerium salt and the anti-corrosion behavior of the conversion film in 3.5% NaCl solution were studied by electrochemical method respectively. The results shows that the conversion film is more compact at room temperature when concentration of cerium sulfate is 10 g·L-1 in the solution; the open circuit potential of the magnesium sample moves up to positive direction about 100 mV, the surface of conversion film becomes even and lustrous, and the adhesion intensity of conversion film increases when adding aluminum nitrate into the solution containing cerium salt. The pH value of the solution and immersion time of the sample in the solution also affect the surface morphology and anti-corrosion property of the conversion film. After covered by rare earths conversion film, the anti-corrosion property of magnesium alloy is obviously improved. Rare earth conversion film has self-repairing capability in corrosion medium.

Detecting and characterizing Total Electron Content(tec)depletion is important for studying the ionospheric threat due to the Equatorial Plasma Bubble(EPB)when applying the Ground-Based Augmentation System(GBAS)at low *** paper develops a robust method to automatically identify tec depletion and derive its *** rolling barrel algorithm is used to automatically identify the tec depletion candidate and its ***,the depletion candidates are screened by several improved techniques to distinguish actual depletions from other phenomena such as Traveling Ionospheric Disturbance(TID)or abnormal ***,based on the depletion signals from three triangular receivers,the method derives EPB parameters such as velocity,width and *** time lag and front velocity are calculated based on crosscorrelation using tec depletions and the geometrical distribution of three triangular *** width and gradient of slope are then determined by using tec depletion from a single *** comparison,both the station-pair method and proposed method depend on the assumption that the EPB morphology is frozen during the short time when the plasma bubble moves between the ***,our method relaxes the restriction that the baseline length should be shorter than the width of slope required by the *** relaxation is favorable for studying small-scale slope of depletions using stations of a longer *** addition,the accuracy of the width and gradient is free of impact from hardware biases and small-scale disturbance,as it is based only on the relative tec *** method is demonstrated by processing Global Positioning System(GPS)and Bei Dou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)data on 15 August,2018,in a solar minimum cycle.

Influence of Solution Composition on Formation of Golden Yellow Rare Earth Conversion Film on Magnesium Alloy

Cerium sulfate was used as main composite in solution to prepare golden yellow chemical conversion film on magnesium alloy. The influence of solution composition on the surface morphology of golden yellow rare earth conversion film on magnesium alloy was studied by means of SEM; potential-time curves in the formation process of rare earth conversion film and the anti-corrosion property of the conversion film were tested through ECT. The results show that, when there is no other component in the solution besides cerium sulfate, yellow film can be obtained on magnesium alloy, but there are some dusts on the film surface and the solution is not stable. The stability of cerium sulfate solution increases with adding hydrogen peroxide, while the film is thin and its color turn light. After adding combination additive containing Al 3+, smooth and compact golden yellow film was obtained on magnesium alloy. The polarization curves tested in 3.5% NaCl solution show that the anti-corrosion property of magnesium alloy is increased obviously by rare earth conversion film, and the film has self-repairing capability in the corrosion process.

The development of cloud computing has made container tec-hnology a hot research issue in recent years. The container technology provides a basic support for micro service architecture, while container networking plays an important role in application of the container technology. In this paper, we study the technical implementation of the Flannel module, a network plug-in for Docker containers, including its func tions, implementation principle, utilization, and performance. The performance of Flannel in different modes is further tested and analyzed in real application scenarios.
