We investigated the ground state(1S), radially excited states(2S) and(3S), and orbitally excited state(1P) for the heavy charmonia(c■) and bottomonia(b■) mesons in the light-front quark model(LFQM). The lightfront wave functions have been successful in explaining various physical properties of meson states in the past, especially for the 1S and 2S states. However, the radially excited state 3S and orbitally excited state 1P have rarely been investigated. In this study, we considered these two excited states and investigated the electromagnetic form factors(EMFFs), charge radii, decay constants, parton distribution functions(PDFs), and the distribution amplitudes(DAs)for the quarkonia system. For the sake of completeness, we also studied the ground and the first excited states of quarkonia mesons. We also illustrated the 3D wave functions for the radially excited states to study their nodal structures.

Uncorrected refractive error（URE） is a major health problem among school childr.n. This study was aimed to determine the frequency and patterns of URE across 4 gradients of residential densities（urban, exurban, suburban and rural）. This was a cross-sectional study of school childr.n from 3 districts in Yogyakarta and 1 district near Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The information regarding age, sex, school and school grader were recorded. The Snellen＇s chart was used to measure the visual acuity and to perform the subjective refraction. The district was then divided into urban, suburban, exurban and rural area based on their location and population. In total, 410 school childr.n were included in the analyses（urban=79, exurban=73, suburban=160 and rural=98 school childr.n）. Urban school childr.n revealed the worst visual acuity（P〈0.001） and it was significant when compared with exurban and rural. The proportion of URE among urban, suburban, exurban and rural area were 10.1%, 12.3%, 3.8%, and 1%, respectively, and it was significant when compared to the proportion of ametropia and corrected refractive error across residential densities（P=0.003）. The risk of URE development in urban, suburban, exurban, and rural were 2.218（95%CI： 0.914-5.385）, 3.019（95%CI： 1.266-7.197）, 0.502（95%CI： 0.195-1.293）, and 0.130（95%CI：0.017-0.972）, respectively. Urban school childr.n showed the worst visual acuity. The school childr.n in urban and suburban residential area had 2 and 3 times higher risk of developing the URE.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the potential of combining natural herbs like chamomile and saffron for the management of anxiety and depression. METHODS: A rodent model of Major Depressive Disorder(MDD) and anxiety, secondary to streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus was made. A total of 6 rat groups were chosen; healthy and diseased controls; and diseased test groups of fluoxetine, saffron, chamomile, and combined saffron and chamomile treated(n = 6/group). Activity by forced swim test(FST), elevated plus maze test(EPMT), and correlations with biochemical markers like serum glucose, tryptophan, C-reactive protein(CRP), brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) and 5-hydr.xytryptamine 2C receptor(5HT2CR) expression, were assessed at the end of the 3rd week of the treatment. A one-way analysis of variance with a post-hoc Tukey's test was applied. RESULTS: The combined herbal treatment group showed significantly better(P < 0.05) than all other groups in terms of anti-hyperglycemic effect. All treatments improved the CRP levels; however, the combination group was also significantly better than fluoxetine and the individual herb groups. Only the herb groups showed efficacy in the FST with added benefits of the combination group over the healthy controls and similar trends in the EPMT. However, expression of 5HT2CR was repressed while BDNF was elevated through treatment. CONCLUSION: This study shows that in comparison to treatment with a SSRI, and individual herbs, the combination of chamomile and saffron showed overall improved outcomes.

·AIM:To evaluate the effect of Intacs SK corneal ring segment implant for treatment of patients with moderate to severe keratoconus, who have clear central cornea and cannot tolerate contact lens. ·METHODS:In this prospective, non-comparative, intervent- ional case series study performed in Dena Hospital, Shiraz, Iran, thirty-seven eyes of thirty-six patients with moderate to severe keratoconus, clear central cornea, and contact lens intolerance were enrolled and underwent Intacs SK corneal ring segment implantation. Preoperatively, uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCDVA), best-corrected distance visual acuity (BCDVA), central corneal thickness(CCT) and average keratometry (Av-K) were measured and compared with post-operative results at one week, one month, three months, and six months. ·RESULTS:Mean preoperative UCDVA and BCDVA were (1.32±0.31) logMAR and (1.07±0.27) logMAR, respectively. Av-K was (52.13±0.39)D, and the CCT was (432±39.5)μm. Post-operative examinations showed a clinically significant improvement in both UCDVA and BCDVA (P <0.001). There was also a significant effect based on the time of assessment on both UCDVA and BCDVA and both parameters had a continuous improvement during the follow-up period. Three months after operation there was a statistical significant reduction of Av-K (P =0.0001), but there were no significant changes in CCT (P =0.149). ·CONCLUSION:Intacs SK corneal ring segment implants seem to be a safe and effective treatment option for patients who have keratoconus, clear central cornea, and contact lens intolerance.
