Dietary supplementation of zinc oxide modulates intestinal functionality during the post-weaning period in clinically healthy piglets

Background To improve our understanding of host and intestinal microbiome interaction,this research investigated the effects of a high-level zinc oxide in the diet as model intervention on the intestinal microbiome and small intestinal functionality in clinically healthy post-weaning *** study 1,piglets received either a high concentration of zinc(Zn)as zinc oxide(Zn O,Zn,2,690 mg/kg)or a low Zn concentration(100 mg/kg)in the diet during the post weaning period(d 14–23).The effects on the piglet's small intestinal microbiome and functionality of intestinal tissue were *** study 2,the impact of timing of the dietary zinc intervention was investigated,i.e.,between d 0–14 and/or d 14–23 post weaning,and the consecutive effects on the piglet's intestinal functionality,here referring to microbiota composition and diversity and gene expression *** Differences in the small intestinal functionality were observed during the post weaning period between piglets receiving a diet with a low or high concentration Zn O content.A shift in the microbiota composition in the small intestine was observed that could be characterized as a non-pathological change,where mainly the commensals *** the immediate post weaning period,i.e.,d 0–14,the highest number of differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in intestinal tissue were observed between animals receiving a diet with a low or high concentration Zn O content,i.e.,23 DEGs in jejunal tissue and 11 DEGs in ileal *** genes are involved in biological processes related to immunity and inflammatory *** example,genes CD59 and REG3G were downregulated in the animals receiving a diet with a high concentration Zn O content compared to low Zn O content in both jejunum and ileum *** the second study,a similar result was obtained regarding the expression of genes in intestinal tissue related to immune pathways when comparing piglets receiving a diet with a high concentration Zn O con

Fuzzy and IRLNC-based routing approach to improve data storage and system reliability in IoT

Internet of Things(IoT)based sensor network is largely utilized in various field for transmitting huge amount of data due to their ease and cheaper *** performing this entire process,there is a high possibility for data corruption in the mid of *** the other hand,the network performance is also affected due to various *** addr.ss these issues,an efficient algorithm that jointly offers improved data storage and reliable routing is ***,after the deployment of sensor nodes,the election of the storage node is achieved based on a fuzzy expert *** Random Linear Network Coding(IRLNC)is used to create an encoded *** encoded packet from the source and neighboring nodes is transmitted to the storage ***,to transmit the encoded packet from the storage node to the destination shortest path is found using the Destination Sequenced Distance Vector(DSDV)*** analysis of the proposed work is carried out by evaluating some of the statistical *** residual energy,packet delivery ratio,compression ratio and storage time achieved for the proposed work are 8.8%,0.92%,0.82%,and 69 *** on this analysis,it is revealed that better data storage system and system reliability is attained using this proposed work.

Tuning the crystallinity of titanium nitride on copper-embedded carbon nanofiber interlayers for accelerated electrochemical kinetics in lithium-sulfur batteries

The development of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries is hindered by the disadvantages of shuttling of polysulfides and the sluggish redox kinetics of the conversion of sulfur species during discharge and ***,the crystallinities of a titanium nitride(TiN)film on copper-embedded carbon nanofibers(Cu-CNFs)are regulated and the nanofibers are used as interlayers to resolve the aforementioned crucial issues.A low-crystalline TiN-coated Cu-CNF(L-TiN-Cu-CNF)interlayer is compared with its highly crystalline counterpart(H-TiN-Cu-CNFs).It is demonstrated that the L-TiN coating not only strengthens the chemical adsorption toward polysulfides but also greatly accelerates the electrochemical conversion of *** to robust carbon frameworks and enhanced kinetics,impressive highrate performance at 2 C(913 mAh g^(-1)based on sulfur)as well as remarkable cyclic stability up to 300 cycles(626 mAh g^(-1))with capacity retention of 46.5%is realized for L-TiN-Cu-CNF interlayer-configured Li-S *** under high loading(3.8 mg cm^(-2))of sulfur and relatively lean electrolyte(10μL electrolyte per milligram sulfur)conditions,the Li-S battery equipped with L-TiN-Cu-CNF interlayers delivers a high capacity of 1144 mAh g^(-1)with cathodic capacity of 4.25 mAh cm^(-2)at 0.1 C,providing a potential pathway toward the design of multifunctional interlayers for highly efficient Li-S batteries.

CD4^(+)T cells can"help"or"license" conventional type 1 dendr.tic cells(cDC1s)to induce CD8^(+)cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL)anticancer responses,as proven in mouse *** recently identified cDC1s with a transcriptomic imprint of CD4^(+)T-cell help,specifically in T-cell-infiltrated human cancers,and these cells were associated with a good prognosis and response to PD-1-targeting ***,we delineate the mechanism of cDC1 licensing by CD4^(+)T cells in *** CD4^(+)T cells produce IFNβvia the STING pathway,which promotes MHC-I antigen(cross-)presentation by cDC1s and thereby improves their ability to induce CTL anticancer *** cooperation with CD40 ligand(L),IFNβalso optimizes the costimulatory and other functions of cDC1s required for CTL response ***-I-producing CD4^(+)T cells are present in diverse T-cell-infiltrated cancers and likely deliver“help”signals to CTLs locally,according to their transcriptomic profile and colocalization with“helped/licensed”cDCs and tumor-reactive CD8^(+)T *** agreement with this scenario,the presence of IFN-I-producing CD4^(+)T cells in the TME is associated with overall survival and the response to PD-1 checkpoint blockade in cancer patients.

An overview and experimental analysis of WO3/TiO2 composite with enhanced electrochromic properties for smart windows application

Internationally,standards for electrochromic（EC） requirements in smart window applications have been established,with ongoing global initiatives aimed at elevating them to highly advanced *** paper covers a comprehensive investigation of the structural,optical,morphological,and electrochemical properties of WO3/TiO2composite ***,an experimental analysis of WO3/TiO2was envisaged by a two-step ***,WO3thin films were hydr.thermally deposited onto indium-doped tin oxide-coated glass substrates using an aqueous solution of Na2WO4·2H2O at a pH value of ***,a layer of TiO2was electrodeposited onto the WO3thin films.X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the successful formation of WO3/TiO2composite films,with the WO3phase exhibiting a hexagonal tunnel *** electron microscopy revealed the formation of porous nanorods（NRs） of WO3,uniformly coated with TiO2,resulting in a porous morphology of the WO./*** EC performance of the WO3/TiO2films was thoroughly assessed through cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry measurements over a potential window ranging from-2.0 to+1.2 V（versus Ag/AgCl） in a 0.5 mol·L-1LiClO4-PC *** WO3/TiO2composite films exhibited cathodic electrochromism,characterized by a reversible color change from dark blue to *** improved EC performance in comparison to pure WO3films is attributed to enhanced double ion/electron insertion and extraction ***,the WO3/TiO2composite films demonstrated excellent optical modulation properties,with a significant modulation at 633 nm（46.87%）.The coloration efficiency reached a high value of 193.25 cm2·C-1,indicating their potential for practical EC ***,the WO3/TiO2composite films displayed exceptional EC stability,with no significant degradation observed over 2500 cyclic voltammetry *** superior EC performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect between the hexagonal WO3NRs

The olfactory system of Pieris brassicae caterpllars:from receptors to glomeruli

Tolfactory system of adult lepidopterans is among the best described neuronal ***,comparatively little is known about the organization of the olfactory system in the larval stage of these ***,we explore the expression of olfactory receptors and the organization of olfactory sensory neurons in caterpillars of Pieris brassicae,a significant pest species in Europe and a well-studied species for its chemical *** describe the larval olfactory system in this species,we first analyzed the head transcriptome of third-instar larvae(L3)and identified 16 odorant receptors(ORs)including the OR coreceptor(Orco),13 ionotropic receptors(IRs),and 8 gustatory receptors(GRs).We then quantified the expression of these 16 ORs in different life stages,using qPCR,and found that the majority of ORs had significantly higher expression in the L4 stage than in the L3 and L5 stages,indicating that the larval olfactory system is not static throughout caterpillar *** an Orco-specific antibody,we identified all olfactory receptor neurons(ORNs)expressing the Orco protein in L3,L4,and L5 caterpillars and found a total of 34 Orco-positive ORNs,distributed among three sensilla on the *** number of Orco-positive ORNs did not differ among the three larval ***,we used retrograde axon tracing of the antennal nerve and identified a mean of 15 glomeruli in the larval antennal center(LAC),suggesting that the caterpillar olfactory system follows a similar design as the adult olfactory system,although with a lower numerical *** together,our results provide a detailed analysis of the larval olfactory neurons in P brassicae,highlighting both the differences as well as the commonalities with the adult olfactory *** findings contribute to a better understanding of the development of the olfactory system in insects and its life-stage-specific adaptations.

Expression changes of mi RNA-regulated genes associated with the formation of the leafy head in cabbage
