Metabolomics for the diagnosis of bladder cancer: A systematic review

Objective: Metabolomics has been extensively utilized in bladder cancer (BCa) research, employing mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy to compare various variables (tissues, serum, blood, and urine). This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for early BCa ***: A search strategy was designed to identify clinical trials, descriptive and analytical observational studies from databases such as Medline, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences. Inclusion criteria comprised studies involving BCa tissue, serum, blood, or urine profiling using widely adopted metabolomics techniques like mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance. Primary outcomes included description of metabolites and metabolomics profiling in BCa patients and the association of metabolites and metabolomics profiling with BCa diagnosis compared to control patients. The risk of bias was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Studies of Diagnostic ***: The search strategy yielded 2832 studies, of which 30 case-control studies were included. Urine was predominantly used as the primary sample for metabolite identification. Risk of bias was often unclear inpatient selection, blinding of the index test, and reference standard assessment, but no applicability concerns were observed. Metabolites and metabolomics profiles associated with BCa diagnosis were identified in glucose, amino acids, nucleotides, lipids, and aldehydes ***: The identified metabolites in urine included citric acid, valine, tryptophan, taurine, aspartic acid, uridine, ribose, phosphocholine, and carnitine. Tissue samples exhibited elevated levels of lactic acid, amino acids, and lipids. Long-term outcome of stem cell transplantation with and without anti-tumor necrotic factor therapy in perianal fistula with Crohn’s disease

Many previous studies suggested that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) infection elevated the risk of morbidity and 90-day mortality after operation, especially pulmonary complications [1–7]. Uncertainty about perioperative safety puts off the progress of elective surgery [8]. The Omicron variant has recently become the dominant variant causing prevalence in several countries [9]. Although a high rate of patients with Omicron presented asymptomatic status [10], it is still unclear whether Omicron infection would raise the risk of postoperative complications.

Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancerrelated mortality,with nearly half of the affected patients developing liver *** three decades,liver resection(LR)has been the primary curative strategy,yet its applicability is limited to about 20%of *** transplantation(LT)for unresectable metastases was attempted unsuccessfully in the 1990s,with high rates of perioperative death and *** is now more interest in this strategy due to improvements in systemic therapies and surgical techniques.A significant study conducted by the Oslo group showed that patients receiving liver transplants had a 60%chance of survival after five *** better results have been achieved by using advanced imaging for risk stratification and further refining selection criteria,especially in the Norvegian SECA *** review carefully charts the development and history of LT as a treatment option for colorectal cancer liver *** revolutionary path from the early days of exploratory surgery to the current situation of cautious optimism is traced,highlighting the critical clinical developments and improved patient selection standards that have made LT a potentially curative treatment for such challenging very well selected cases.

Strategy and technique for surgical treatment of Ebstein’s anomaly
