Radiotherapy(RT)has an unassailable track record as the backbone of treatment in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Several reasons explain its *** to human papilloma virus-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma,Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)-associated NPC is exquisitely sensitive to ***,huge leaps with technological advances in RT delivery over the past decades have led to substantial improvements in tumor control,while reducing debilitating late RT-induced complications[1,2].Innovations in this space continue to drive the enhancement of the therapeutic ratio of RT,with the goal of enhancing the quality of life(QoL)among long-term survivors[3].Therefore,there has not been any compelling reason to disrupt this timehonored convention of employing RT as the standard of care in NPC.

Evolution Behaviors of Oxides in Severely Plastic Deformed Region of AISI 52100 Steel during Dry Sliding Wear

Under dry sliding wear, the evolution of oxides in severely plastic deformed（SPD） regions of metals has a great impact on the wear behaviors. To study the evolution behaviors of oxides in the SPD region, an SPD region was prefabricated on the surface of AISI 52100 steel by supersonic fine particle bombarding（SFPB） treatment. Dry sliding wear tests were carried out on both of the SFPB-treated and original *** volume loss of the SPBF-treated samples were compared with those of the original samples at different loads. Microstructure, element composition and oxides distribution in the SPD region were characterized by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and an electron probe microanalysis（EPMA）. The results show that the evolution behaviors of the oxides in the SPD region change significantly with the load. Under low loads, oxides are usually formed on the contact surface. It inhibits adhesive wear on the steel. However, under high loads, oxides are apt to distribute along the cracks in the subsurface layer. The internal oxidation along the cracks can accelerate the cracks propagation, resulting in severe delamination wear on the steel.

Biloma is an encapsulated bile collection outside the biliary tree due to a bile leak. It is occasionally found following traumatic liver injury or iatrogenic injury to the biliary tract, induced either during an endoscopic or surgical procedure. It is a rare complication of transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). Although biloma can be shrunk by appropriate aspiration or drainage in majority of cases,we report a case of intrahepatic biloma following repeated TAE for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and complicated by infection and intrahepatic stones. This particular constellation of problems has not been reported before and the intrahepatic stones need to be removed by percutaneous procedure.

Cardiac substrate utilization remains a critical focus for the research community.1 Research has acknowledged the role of metabolic flexibility in the development and progression of cardiac dysfunction during a variety of diseases and conditions.2,3 Under resting basal conditions,the heart relies on fatty acid metabolism as the primary energy source with glucose,lactate,ketone bodies,pyruvate,acetate,and branched-chain amino acids contributing as substrates depending on substrate availability,hormonal status,and myocardial conditioning.4 In addition to pathological states,physiological states,such as acute exercise,induce dynamic changes in substrate metabolism,including nearly a 10-fold increase in myocardial oxygen consumption.3,5 To meet the increased demand for energy during and after a bout of exercise,the heart muscle must exhibit metabolic flexibility and selectively utilize different substrates for adenosine triphosphate ***,metabolic substrate adaptations depend on the frequency,intensity,duration,and mode of exercise while multiple metabolic fluxes,such as the use,storage and mobilization of substrates must be coordinated to maintain energy homeostasis.1,2 Although many different processes of exercise-induced regulation and metabolic remodeling have been identified,35 the effect of exercise on cellular metabolism and the landscape of metabolic pathway regulation in response to both acute exercise and chronic exercise training remain unclear.

4-Dimensional cone-beam computed tomography(4D-CBCT)offers several key advantages over conventional 3DCBCT in moving target localization/delineation,structure de-blurring,target motion tracking,treatment dose accumulation and adaptive radiation ***,the use of the 4D-CBCT in current radiation therapy practices has been limited,mostly due to its sub-optimal image quality from limited angular sampling of conebeam *** this study,we summarized the recent developments of 4D-CBCT reconstruction techniques for image quality improvement,and introduced our developments of a new 4D-CBCT reconstruction technique which features simultaneous motion estimation and image reconstruction(SMEIR).Based on the original SMEIR scheme,biomechanical modeling-guided SMEIR(SMEIR-Bio)was introduced to further improve the reconstruction accuracy of fine details in lung *** improve the efficiency of reconstruction,we recently developed a U-net-based deformation-vector-field(DVF)optimization technique to leverage a population-based deep learning scheme to improve the accuracy of intra-lung DVFs(SMEIR-Unet),without explicit biomechanical *** of each of the SMEIR,SMEIR-Bio and SMEIR-Unet techniques were included in this study,along with the corresponding results comparing the reconstruction accuracy in terms of CBCT images and the *** also discussed the application prospects of the SMEIR-type techniques in image-guided radiation therapy and adaptive radiation therapy,and presented potential schemes on future developments to achieve faster and more accurate 4D-CBCT imaging.

This study presents the intercomparison of the outdoor environmental gamma dose rates measured using a Nal （TI） based survey meter along with thermoluminescent dosimeters （TLDs） and estimation of excess lifetime cancer risk （ELCR）, for the inhabitants of Poonch division of the Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. CaF2： Dy （TLD-200） card dosimeters were installed at height of 1 m from ground at fifteen different locations covering the entire Poonch division comprising of three districts.

Coherent pulse stacking（CPS） is a new time-domain coherent addition technique that stacks several optical pulses into a single output pulse, enabling high pulse energy and high average power. A Z-domain model targeting the pulsed laser is assembled to describe the optical interference process. An algorithm, extracting the cavity phase and pulse phases from limited data, where only the pulse intensity is available, is developed to diagnose optical cavity resonators. We also implement the algorithm on the cascaded system of multiple optical cavities,achieving phase errors less than 1.0°（root mean square）, which could ensure the stability of CPS.

Sry-related high-mobility box 2(SOX2)is a critical transcription factor that plays an important role in various phases of embryonic development and maintenance of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells(ESCs)(Feng and Wen,2015).SOX2,as one of the Yamanaka factors,is involved in the conversion of mouse embryonic fibroblast cells(MEFs)into induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)(Takahashi and Yamanaka,2006).Recently,SOX2 amplification,usually couples with aberrantly increased expression,were found in various human cancers,including breast,lung,esophagus,colon,prostate,ovarian among the others(Novak et al.,2019).SOX2 overexpression promotes cancer progression by accelerating cell proliferation,colony formation,migration,invasion,and sphere ***,SOX2 is causally related to the development of the resistance of cancer cells to chemotherapy.
