Sirtuin 2 is a member of the sirtuin family nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD~+)-dependent deacetylases, known for its regulatory role in different processes, including inflammation. In this context, sirtuin 2 has been involved in the modulation of key inflammatory signaling pathways and transcription factors by deacetylating specific targets, such as nuclear factor κB and nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-leucine-rich-repeat and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3). However, whether sirtuin 2-mediated pathways induce a pro-or an anti-inflammatory response remains controversial. Sirtuin 2 has been implicated in promoting inflammation in conditions such as asthma and neurodegenerative diseases, suggesting that its inhibition in these conditions could be a potential therapeutic strategy. Conversely, arthritis and type 2 diabetes mellitus studies suggest that sirtuin 2 is essential at the peripheral level and, thus, its inhibition in these pathologies would not be recommended. Overall, the precise role of sirtuin 2 in inflammation appears to be context-dependent, and further investigation is needed to determine the specific molecular mechanisms and downstream targets through which sirtuin 2 influences inflammatory processes in various tissues and pathological conditions. The present review explores the involvement of sirtuin 2 in the inflammation associated with different pathologies to elucidate whether its pharmacological modulation could serve as an effective strategy for treating this prevalent symptom across various diseases.

Objectives: To determine the level of adversity quotient and its associations with rumination, optimism, and authoritative parenting style in junior high school students. Adversity quotient is the adaptation ability to overcome problems and obstacles with a positive attitude. Early adolescence, as a critical stage of life, needs to cultivate adversity quotient. However, adversity quotient and its influencing factors in adolescents have not been fully understood. Methods: A total of 129 students from 3 junior high schools (grade 7-9) in Chon Buri province, Thailand, were randomly recruited to participate in this correlational research study. They completed 5 questionnaires including the demographic form, adversity quotient assessment, authoritative parenting style, optimism, and rumination. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. Results: Adversity quotient was at a moderate level with a mean of 138.78 (standard deviation [SD] = 21.25). Adversity quotient was significantly, positively correlated with authoritative parenting at the highest level (r = 0.60), followed by optimism at a moderate level (r = 0.38), and rumination at a low level (r = 0.25, P studies.

Objectives:Recent research has shown that college students experience high levels of stress from various sources,which contribute to heightened rates of psychological distress and make them particularly vulnerable to mental health ***,we conducted a study,aimed to analyze the influence of a mobile-based walking routine on mental health outcomes,such as perceived stress and positive and negative ***:The participants were divided into two groups:the walking group(N=23)and the control group(N=24).The walking group engaged in an approximately 25-min walking session for at least 3 days per week,which was carefully monitored and facilitated with the help of the Nike Run Club *** statistical analysis of the quantitative data was carried out with the help of SPSS *** addition to calculating descriptive statistics,we conducted an independent samples t-test,a repeated-measures ANOVA,and a paired sample t-test to analyze the effectiveness of the ***:A repeated-measures ANOVA revealed that the walking group exhibited significant reductions in perceived stress(t=2.03,p=0.049,Cohen’s D=0.60)and negative affect(t=2.19,p=0.033,Cohen’s D=0.65)after the intervention,whereas the control group showed no significant changes across time in any of the proposed ***:The results of the study continue to be indicative of the positive effects of regular walking on perceived stress and negative affect,preserving its role as a straightforward and accessible tool for reducing stress and negative affect.

Objective: To identify the principal factors associated with the occurrence and development of medical device-related pressure injuries(MDRPI) in adults admitted to hospitals. MDRPI, a peculiar subtype of pressure injuries(PI), result from the pression exer ted by devices(or their fixation systems) applied for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. MDRPI represent a serious problem for patients and healthcare systems. Understanding potential risk factors is an important step in implementing effective ***: In this study, we will perform a systematic review; if possible, also a meta-analysis will be performed. The review will follow the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses(PRISMA) reporting guidelines for systematic reviews. A rigorous literature search will be conducted both in electronic databases(Medline/Pub Med, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library) to identify studies published since 2000 and in gray literature for unpublished studies. Pairs of researchers will identify relevant evidence, extract data, and assess risk of bias independently in each eligible study. Factors associated with the occurrence of MDRPI are considered the primary outcome. Secondary outcomes are prevalence and incidence of MDRPI, length of hospital stay, infections, and death. The evidence will be synthesized using the GRADE ***: Results are not currently available as this is a protocol for a systematic ***: This systematic review will identify evidence on risk factors for developing MDRPI. We are confident that the results of this review will help to improve clinical practice and guide future research.

目的汉化护理学校归属感量表,并检验中文版护理学校归属感量表的信效度。方法依据Brislin原则翻译护理学校归属感量表,由8名专家评价中文版护理学校归属感量表的内容效度。2022年8月至2023年10月,采用中文版护理学校归属感量表调查330名护理本科生以检验其信效度。结果中文版护理学校归属感量表包含4个分量表共19个条目。量表水平的内容效度指数为0.947,条目水平的内容效度指数为0.875~1.000,量表的Cronbach′sα系数为0.965。探索性因子分析提取4个公因子,累计方差贡献率为83.766%;验证性因子分析结果显示,χ^(2)/df=2.672,RMSEA=0.088,CFI=0.938,RMR=0.027,NFI=0.906,IFI=0.939。结论中文版护理学校归属感量表信效度良好,可用于测评护理专业学生的学校归属感水平。

Combined Effect of Honey from Central West Brazil on Bacterial Membrane Permeability

Honey, an apicultural product with a complex chemical composition, contains numerous bioactive compounds with potential antimicrobial effects. This study investigated the effect of Apis mellifera honey from Brazil’s Central-West Region, combined with antibiotics, on bacterial membrane permeability, exploring the contributions of bioactive compounds and the botanical origin of honey. Six fresh Apis mellifera honey samples and their fractions (hexane and ethyl acetate) were analyzed, for a total of 18 samples. The bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis, Helicobacter pylori and Enterococcus faecalis were used for antibacterial activity tests, which included minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) determination and synergistic effect (checkerboard) assays. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents were quantified, and the botanical origin was determined based on pollen analysis. The tested honey samples significantly affected bacterial membrane permeability when combined with rifampicin and clarithromycin. Although many honey-derived bioactive compounds, when isolated, did not exhibit significant activity against these bacteria, the additive or synergistic effect of multiple compounds acting on different targets appears to potentiate the antibacterial action. Descriptive statistical analysis, including means and 95% confidence intervals, confirmed the relevance of the findings. This study has provided an important discovery: Honey has an effect on bacterial membrane permeability, although the specific mechanisms involved in this process require further investigation.
