Continuous inhibition of angiogenesis beyond progression is an emerging treatment concept in the management of metastatic colorectal cancer patients with prior bevacizumab exposure. Treatment options include the continuation or reintroduction of bevacizumab during the second-line chemotherapy or switching to a different antiangiogenic monoclonal antibody such as aflibercept or ramucirumab. In the selection of treatment, patient-based factors such as performance status, age, tumor burden, and tolerance and sensitivity to the firstline bevacizumab-based therapy, as well as treatment-related factors such as toxicity, efficacy, and cost, should be taken into consideration.

AIM:To investigate the efficacy and side effects of the combined therapy of oxaliplatin and capecitabine in patients with metastatic esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC) and the survival of the ***:Sixty-four patients(median age of 63 years) with histological or cytological confirmation of ESCC received oxaliplatin 120 mg/m2 intravenously on day 1 and capecitabine 1000 mg/m2 orally twice daily on days 1 to 14 in a 21-d treatment cycle as palliative *** patient received at least two cycles of *** efficacy,side effects and patient survival were ***:The partial response(PR) rate was 43.8%(28/64).Stable disease(SD) rate was 47.9%(26/64),and disease progression rate was 15.6%(10/64).The clinical benefit rate(PR + SD) was 84.4%.The main toxicities were leukopenia(50.0%),nausea and vomiting(51.6%),diarrhea(50.0%),stomatitis(39.1%),polyneuropathy(37.5%) and hand-foot syndrome(37.5%).No grade 4 event in the entire cohort was *** median progression-free survival was 4 mo,median overall survival was 10 mo(95% CI:8.3-11.7 mo),and the 1-and 2-year survival rates were 38.1% and 8.2%,*** Karnofsky index,single metastatic lesion and response to the regimen indicated respectively good ***:Oxaliplatin plus capecitabine regimen is effective and tolerable in metastatic ESCC *** regimen has improved the survival moderately and merits further studies.

The Expression and Bioinformatic Analysis of a Novel Gene C20orf14 Associated with Lymphoma

The aim of the present study was to explore the differentially expressed genes in the blood vessel endothelial cells （BVECs） between diffuse large B-cell lymphoma （DLBCL） and reactive lymph node hyperplasia （RLNH）, and to perform an initial bioinformatics analysis on a novel gene, C20orf14, which is highly expressed in lymph node of lymphoma. The mRNA of the tissue from the BVECs of DLBCL and RLNH tissues was labeled with biotin respectively and hybridized with expression profile microarray, and the differentially expressed genes were obtained. Initial bio-informatics analysis was performed on a novel gene named C20orf14. Its gene structure, genomic localization, the physical and chemical characteristics of the putative protein, subcellular localization, functional domain etc. were predicted, and the systematic evolution analysis was performed on the similar proteins among several species. By using expression profile microarray, many differentially expressed genes were uncovered. The efficient bioinformatics analysis have fundamentally identified that C20orf14 was a nuclear protein, and may be involved in the post-transcription modification of mRNA. Therefore, microarray is an efficient and high throughout strategy for the detection of differentially expressed genes, and C20orf14 is thought to be a potential target for tumor metastasis researches by bioinformatics analysis.

We report here the history and evolution of the use of oral mucosa in reconstructive urethral surgery since it was first used for urethroplasty in *** that time,many authors have contributed to develop,improve and popularize the use of oral mucosa as a substitute *** urologists should be considered pioneers on the use of oral mucosa as they used it to repair primary and failed *** use of oral mucosa to repair penile and bulbar urethral strictures was described,for the first time,in *** evolutions in the technique for harvesting oral mucosa from the cheek were reported in ***,oral mucosa is considered the gold standard material for any type of anterior urethroplasty in a one-or two-stage repair due to its biological and structural characteristics that make it a highly versatile that is adaptable to any environment required by the reconstructive urethral *** the future approaches,tissue engineering techniques will provide patients with new materials originating from the oral epithelial mucosal cells,which are cultured and expanded into a ***,the path to reach this ambitious objective is still long and many difficulties must be overcome along the way.
