This article deals with investigating the effect of cut-outs on the natural frequencies of magneto-electroelastic(MEE)plates incorporating finite element methods based on higher order shear deformation theory(HSDT).In order to consider the influence of cut-out,the energy of the cut-out domain is subtracted from the total energy of the entire *** governing equations of motions are derived through incorporating Hamilton’s principle and the solution is obtained using condensation *** proposed numerical formulation is verified with the results of previously published literature as well as the numerical *** addition,this research focuses on evaluating the effect of geometrical skewness and boundary conditions on the frequency *** influence of cut-outs on the degree of coupling between magnetic,electric and elastic fields is also investigated.

In order to simulate the instability phenomenon of a nonaqueous phase liquid(NAPL) dissolution front in a computational model, the intrinsic characteristic length is commonly used to determine the length scale at which the instability of the NAPL dissolution front can be initiated. This will require a huge number of finite elements if a whole NAPL dissolution system is simulated in the computational model. Even though modern supercomputers might be used to tackle this kind of NAPL dissolution problem, it can become prohibitive for commonly-used personal computers to do so. The main purpose of this work is to investigate whether or not the whole NAPL dissolution system of an annular domain can be replaced by a trapezoidal domain, so as to greatly reduce the requirements for computer efforts. The related simulation results have demonstrated that when the NAPL dissolution system under consideration is in a subcritical state, if the dissolution pattern around the entrance of an annulus domain is of interest, then a trapezoidal domain cannot be used to replace an annular domain in the computational simulation of the NAPL dissolution ***, if the dissolution pattern away from the vicinity of the entrance of an annulus domain is of interest, then a trapezoidal domain can be used to replace an annular domain in the computational simulation of the NAPL dissolution system. When the NAPL dissolution system under consideration is in a supercritical state, a trapezoidal domain cannot be used to replace an annular domain in the computational simulation of the NAPL dissolution system.

Using molecular dynamics simulations,we show that an asymmetrically shaped nanoparticle in dilute solution possesses a spontaneously curved trajectory within a finite time interval,instead of the generally expected random *** unexpected dynamic behavior has a similarity to that of active matters,such as swimming bacteria,cells,or even fish,but is of a different physical *** key to the curved trajectory lies in the non-zero resultant force originated from the imbalance of the collision forces acted by surrounding solvent molecules on the asymmetrically shaped nanoparticle during its orientation *** formulae based on microscopic observations have been derived to describe this non-zero force and the resulting motion of the asymmetrically shaped nanoparticle.

The recently developed elasto-viscoplastic Creep-SCLAY1S model has been used in conjunction with PLAXIS 2D to investigate the effectiveness of vibro-replacement in a creep-prone clay. The Creep-SCLAY1S model accounts for anisotropy, bonding, and destructuration, and uses the concept of a constant rate of viscoplastic multiplier to calculate creep strain rate. A comparison of settlement improvement factors with and without creep indicates that ‘total’ settlement improvement factors （primary plus creep） are lower than their ‘primary’ counterparts （primary settlement only）. The lowest settlement improvement factors arise for analyses incorporating the effect of bonding and destructuration. Examination of the variations of vertical stress with time and depth has indicated that vertical stress is transferred from the soil to the column as the soil creeps. This results in additional column yielding. In addition, the radial and hoop stresses in the soil are lower for the ‘creep’ case. The reduced radial stresses lead to additional column bulging and hence more settlement, whereas the hoop stress reductions appear to be a secondary effect, caused by additional plastic deformation for the ‘creep’ case.

Hierarchical Text Classification(HTC)aims to match text to hierarchical *** methods overlook two critical issues:first,some texts cannot be fully matched to leaf node labels and need to be classified to the correct parent node instead of treating leaf nodes as the final classification ***,error propagation occurs when a misclassification at a parent node propagates down the hierarchy,ultimately leading to inaccurate predictions at the leaf *** address these limitations,we propose an uncertainty-guided HTC depth-aware model called ***,we design an early stopping strategy with uncertainty to identify incomplete matching between text and labels,classifying them into the corresponding parent node *** approach allows us to dynamically determine the classification depth by leveraging evidence to quantify and accumulate *** results show that the proposed DepthMatch outperforms recent strong baselines on four commonly used public datasets:WOS(Web of Science),RCV1-V2(Reuters Corpus Volume I),AAPD(Arxiv Academic Paper Dataset),and ***,on the BGC dataset,it improvesMicro-F1 andMacro-F1 scores by at least 1.09%and 1.74%,respectively.

This study investigates the effect of defect engineering on the catalytic activity of a NiPS3 monolayer catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Three different types of vacancies on the basal plane of the monolayer are explored through a multi-step mechanism involving the dissociative adsorption of a water molecule and subsequent electrochemical adsorption of the dissociated ***-formation of vacancies in both Ni and S sites is found to be the most effective in enhancing the catalytic performance of the monolayer.A key resource for the reaction thermodynamics is the S-substitution-like physisorption of a water molecule on a vacant S site,followed by the dissociative occupation of OH and H into vacant sites of S and Ni elements,boosted by the NiS di-vacancy configuration with low activation energy *** reveals the highest contribution of bonding orbitals to the monolayer-H bond makes it the most desirable defect engineering approach for transition metal phosphorus chalcogenides with high HER ***,this study highlights the significance of controlled defect engineering in augmenting the catalytic performance of NiPS3 monolayer catalysts for HER.

A class of initial boundary value problems of differential-difference equations for reaction diffusion with a small time delay is considered. Under suitable conditions and by using the stretched variable method, a formal asymptotic solution is constructed. Then, by use of the theory of differential inequalities, the uniform validity of the solution is proved.
