Background Hypothalamus hamartomas(HHs)are rare,congenital,tumor-like,and nonprogressive malformations resulting in drug-resistant epilepsy,mainly affecting *** seizures(GS)are an early hallmark of epilepsy with *** aim of this study was to explore the disease progression and the underlying physiopathological mechanisms of pathological laughter in *** We obtained clinical information and metabolic images of 56 HH patients and utilized ictal semiology evaluation to stratify the specimens into GS-only,GS-plus,and no-GS subgroups and then applied contrasted trajectories inference(cTI)to calculate the pseudotime value and evaluate GS *** logistic regression was performed to identify neuroimaging-clinical predictors of GS,and then voxelwise lesion network-symptom mapping(LNSM)was applied to explore GS-associated brain *** cTI inferred the specific metabolism trajectories of GS progression and revealed increased complexity from GS to other seizure *** was further validated via actual disease duration(Pearson R=0.532,P=0.028).Male sex[odds ratio(OR)=2.611,P=0.013],low age at seizure onset(OR=0.361,P=0.005),high normalized HH metabolism(OR=−1.971,P=0.037)and severe seizure burden(OR=−0.006,P=0.032)were significant neuroimaging clinical *** revealed that the dysfunctional cortico-subcortico-cerebellar network of GS and the somatosensory cortex(S1)represented a negative *** This study sheds light on the clinical characteristics and progression of GS in children with *** identified distinct subtypes of GS and demonstrated the involvement of specific brain regions at the cortical–subcortical–cerebellar *** valuable results contribute to our understanding of the neural correlates of GS.

Analysis of the Clinical Value of Surgical Treatment and Postoperative Anti-Infection Treatment of Acute Suppurative Appendicitis

Objective: To explore the clinical value of surgical treatment and postoperative anti-infection treatment for acute suppurative appendicitis. Methods: A total of 116 patients with acute suppurative appendicitis were enrolled in this study. The collection period was from December 2021 to December 2023. The patients were randomly grouped into a control group (surgical treatment) and an observation group (surgical treatment and postoperative anti-infection treatment), of 58 patients each. At the end of the treatment, the results of each index of the two groups were compared. Results: The length of hospitalization time, exhaust time, and incidence of complications in the observation group were shorter than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: It is crucial to perform anti-infective treatment promptly after surgical treatment in patients with acute suppurative appendicitis. It can effectively prevent the occurrence of complications and improve the clinical efficacy. Hence, it is worthy of research and promotion.

Effects of stigma on the quality of lifein patients with epilepsy

Mobile genetic elements facilitate the transmission of antibiotic resistance genes in multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae from duck farms

Multidrug-resistant(MDR)Enterobacteriaceae critically threaten duck farming and public *** phenotypes,genotypes,and associated mobile genetic elements(MGEs)of MDR Enterobacteriaceae isolated from 6 duck farms in Zhejiang Province,China,were investigated.A total of 215 isolates were identified as Escherichia coli(64.65%),Klebsiella pneumoniae(12.09%),Proteus mirabilis(10.23%),Salmonella(8.84%),and Enterobacter cloacae(4.19%).Meanwhile,all isolates were resistant to at least two *** isolates carried tet(A)(85.12%),blaTEM(78.60%)and sul1(67.44%)resistance *** co-occurrence analysis showed that the resistance genes were associated with IS26 and integrons.A conjugative IncFII plasmid pSDM004 containing all the above MGEs was detected in Proteus mirabilis isolate *** isolate was resistant to 18 antibiotics and carried the blaNDM-5 ***,especially plasmids,are the primary antibiotic resistance gene transmission route in duck *** findings provide a theoretical basis for the rational use of antibiotics in farms which are substantial for evaluating public health and food safety.

Antibiotic resistance is a major challenge in the clinical treatment of bacterial infectious ***,we constructed a multifunctional DNA nanoplatform as a versatile carrier for bacteria-specific delivery of clinical antibiotic ciprofloxacin(CIP)and classic nanoantibiotic silver nanoparticles(AgNP).In our rational design,CIP was efficiently loaded in the self-assembly double-bundle DNA tetrahedron through intercalation with DNA duplex,and single-strand DNA-modified AgNP was embedded in the cavity of the DNA tetrahedron through *** the site-specific assembly of targeting aptamer in the well-defined DNA tetrahedron,the bacteria-specific dual-antibiotic delivery system exhibited excellent combined bactericidal *** enhanced antibiotic accumulation through breaking the out membrane of bacteria,the antibiotic delivery system effectively inhibited biofilm formation and promoted the healing of infected wounds in *** DNAbased antibiotic delivery system provides a promising strategy for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant infections.

Multi-class classification of pathological myopia based on fundus photography

Pathological myopia(PM)is a severe ocular disease leading to *** a traditional noninvasive diagnostic method,fundus color photography(FCP)is widely used in detecting PM due to its highfidelity and ***,manual examination of fundus photographs for PM is time-consuming and prone to high error *** automated detection technologies have yet to study the detailed classification in diagnosing different stages of PM *** this paper,we proposed an intelligent system which utilized Resnet101 technology to multi-categorically diagnose PM by classifying FCPs with different stages of *** system subdivided different stages of PM into eight subcategories,aiming to enhance the precision and e±ciency of the diagnostic *** achieved an average accuracy rate of 98.86%in detection of PM,with an area under the curve(AUC)of 98.96%.For the eight subcategories of PM,the detection accuracy reached 99.63%,with an AUC of 99.98%.Compared with other widely used multi-class models such as VGG16,Vision Transformer(VIT),E±cientNet,this system demonstrates higher accuracy and *** artificial intelligence system is designed to be easily integrated into existing clinical diagnostic tools,providing an e±cient solution for large-scale PM screening.
