Improving irrigation management in wheat farms through the combined use of the AquaCrop and WinSRFR models

Water is essential for agricultural production;however,climate change has exacerbated drought and water stress in arid and semi-arid areas such as *** these challenges,irrigation water efficiency remains low,and current water management schemes are ***,Iranian crops suffer from low water productivity,highlighting the urgent need for enhanced productivity and improved water management *** this study,we investigated irrigation management conditions in the Hamidiyeh farm,Khuzestan Province,Iran and used the calibrated AquaCrop and WinSRFR(a surface irrigation simulation model)models to reflect these ***,we examined different management scenarios using each model and evaluated the results from the second *** findings demonstrated that combining simulation of the AquaCrop and WinSRFR models was highly effective and could be employed for irrigation management in the *** AquaCrop model accurately simulated wheat yield in the first year,being 2.6 t/hm^(2),which closely aligned with the measured yield of 3.0 t/hm^(2).Additionally,using the WinSRFR model to adjust the length of existing borders from 200 to 180 m resulted in a 45.0%increase in efficiency during the second *** enhance water use efficiency in the field,we recommended adopting borders with a length of 180 m,a width of 10 m,and a flow rate of 15 to 18 L/*** AquaCrop and WinSRFR models accurately predicted border irrigation conditions,achieving the highest water use efficiency at a flow rate of 18 L/*** these models increased farmers'average water consumption efficiency from 0.30 to 0.99 kg/m^(3)in the second ***,the results obtained from the AquaCrop and WinSRFR models are within a reasonable range and consistent with international *** adjustment is projected to improve the water use efficiency in the field by approximately 45.0%when utilizing the border irrigation ***,integrating these two

This paper highlights the crucial role of Indonesia’s GNSS receiver network in advancing Equatorial Plasma Bubble(EPB)studies in Southeast and East Asia,as ionospheric irregularities within EPB can disrupt GNSS signals and degrade positioning *** by the Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency(BIG),the Indonesia Continuously Operating Reference Station(Ina-CORS)network comprises over 300 GNSS receivers spanning equatorial to southern low-latitude ***-CORS is uniquely situated to monitor EPB generation,zonal drift,and dissipation across Southeast *** provide a practical tool for EPB research,by sharing two-dimensional rate of Total Electron Content(TEC)change index(ROTI)derived from this *** generate ROTI maps with a 10-minute resolution,and samples from May 2024 are publicly available for further scientific *** preliminary findings from the ROTI maps of Ina-CORS are ***,the Ina-CORS ROTI maps reveal that the irregularities within a broader EPB structure persist longer,increasing the potential for these irregularities to migrate farther ***,we demonstrate that combined ROTI maps from Ina-CORS and GNSS receivers in East Asia and Australia can be used to monitor the development of ionospheric irregularities in Southeast and East *** have demonstrated the combined ROTI maps to capture the development of ionospheric irregularities in the Southeast/East Asian sector during the G5 Geomagnetic Storm on May 11,*** observed simultaneous ionospheric irregularities in Japan and Australia,respectively propagating northwestward and southwestward,before midnight,whereas Southeast Asia’s equatorial and low-latitude regions exhibited irregularities *** sharing ROTI maps from Indonesia and integrating them with regional GNSS networks,researchers can conduct comprehensive EPB studies,enhancing the understanding of EPB behavior across Southeast and East Asia and contributing significantly to ionosphe

Effect of Moringa stenopetala and Pigeon Pea Supplements on Growth Performance of Short-Eared Somali Goat Breed

This study was conducted at Fafan research Center, Golajo research site to evaluate the effect of Moringa stenopetala and pigeon pea leaf supplementation on growth performance of short-eared Somali goat breed. A total of fifteen yearling indigenous short-eared Somali goat breeds with an initial weight of 15.2 ± 0.30 kg were assigned to three treatment groups using completely randomized design. Pigeon pea (Pp) and Moringa stenopetala (MS) feeds were formulated using 0%, 5%, and 10% inclusion levels of MSLM and PPLM as experimental diets, respectively. The feed of the experiment was prepared in two levels (2 kg of Moringa stenopetala and 2 kg of pigeon pea) and was supplemented to experimental animals in treatments one and two, respectively. The average e initial body weight of selected male goats was 18.82 ± 0.37, 18.8 ± 0.37 and 17.8 ± 0.37 kg under treatment groups T1, T2 and control respectively. Data was analyzed using general linear model (GLM) procedure of SAS computer package Version 9.0 (SAS, 2002). The final weights gain (FWG) of goats on T1 and T2 of experimental group was significantly (P 0.05) the final weight gain of goat supplemented on Moringa stenopetala (T1) and pigeon pea levels (T2). The mean average weight gains (AWG) obtained from the supplemented group in this study were 7.50 ± 0.37 and 7.82 ± 0.37 kg for T1 and T2, whereas mean weight gains for un-supplemented goats were found to be 6.26 ± 0.37 kg. Feeding of dried Moringa stenopetala and pigeon pea leaves mixture improved body weights and average daily body weight gain without affecting feed intake and overall health of Somali goat breed. As Moringa stenopetala and pigeon pea leaves are rich nitrogen/protein source, they can be used effectively as substitute for conventional concentrate in the diet of growing goats at small holder farmer’s level where they can be grown in abundance. Genetic diversity and population genetic structure of Paeonia suffruticosa by chloroplast DNA simple sequence repeats(cpSSRs)

Paeonia suffruticosa *** an endemic shrub flower in China with 2n=*** study used 228 cultivars from four populations,i.e.,Jiangnan,Japan,Northwest,and Zhongyuan,as materials to explore the genetic diversity levels among different populations of tree peony *** results showed that 34 bands were amplified using five pairs of cp SSR primers,with an average of 6.8 bands per primer *** average number of different alleles(N_(a)),effective alleles(N_(e)),Shannon's information index(I),diversity(H),and polymorphic information content(PIC)were 3.600,2.053,0.708,0.433,and 0.388,*** PIC value was between 0.250 and 0.500,indicating a moderate level of polymorphism for the five cp SSR primer *** genetic diversity levels of peony cultivars varied among different populations,with the Northwest population showing relatively lower levels(I=0.590,H=0.289,and PIC=0.263).A total of 52 haplotypes were identified in the four examined populations,and the number of haplotypes per population ranged from 11 to ***-four private haplotypes were detected across populations,and the Northwest population exhibiting the highest count of private haplotypes with *** mean number of effective number of haplotypes(N_(eh)),haplotypic richness(R_(h)),and diversity(H)were 8.351,6.824,and 0.893,*** of molecular variance indicated that genetic variation within tree peony germplasm was greater than that between germplasm resources,and the main variation was found within individuals of peony *** analysis,principal coordinate analysis,and genetic structure analysis classified tree peonies from different origins into two groups,indicating a certain degree of genetic differentiation among these four tree peony cultivation *** study provides a theoretical basis for the exploration,utilization,and conservation of peony germplasm resources,as well as for research on the breeding of excellent varieties.

Study on Combining Ability for Yield and Yield Contributing Characters of Short Statured Maize Inbred Lines at over Locations

Twenty short-statured maize inbred lines were collected from CIMMYT India and Mexico through the Plant Breeding Division, Bangladesh Agricultural research Institute (BARI), Gazipur. The experiment was conducted from November 2020 to April 2021 in three different agroecological regions such as BARI, Gazipur, RARS Barisal and RARS Rangpur. Seven inbred lines were selected on the basis of genetic diversity and per se performance and they were crossed separately in a 7 × 7 half diallel fashion, producing 21F1 hybrids in 2019 which were evaluated at three locations. However, variances due to GCA were much higher in magnitude than SCA for all the characters indicating preponderance of additive gene effects on the inheritance of these characters. Two parents viz., P3 (CML33) and P4 (CML41) were good general combiners and two crosses viz., P4 × P5 (CML41 × CML31) and P5 × P7 (CML31 × CML124) expressed significant positive SCA effects coupled with significant positive heterosis for grain yield and for most of the yield contributing characters over the two commercial check varieties BHM 9 and NK40. Four crosses: P1 × P5 (CML116 × CML31), P1 × P6 (CML116 × CML32), P2 × P6 (CML72 × CML32) and P3 × P4 (CML33 × CML41), exhibited significant and negative SCA effects for both plant and ear height which were desirable for short stature. Genotypes x location interaction was also significant for maximum characters, suggesting that genotypes interacted significantly in different environments.

Effect of different treatments on electrokinetic remediation of Zn, Pb and Cd from a contaminated calcareous soil

Electrokinetic remediation is a promising method to decontamination of the heavy metals from *** this paper,the remediation of a contaminated calcareous soil with Zn,Cd and Pb sampled from around Zanjan province of Iran,was investigated using electrokinetic *** this paper,the soil contain a high concentration of Zn(1400 mg·kg^(-1)),Cd(15 mg·kg^(-1))and Pb(250 mg·kg^(-1)).Electrokinetic decontamination consists of two series of experiments as follows:(1)the effect of five treatments including the use of distilled water,acetic acid and EDTA electrolyte solutions,and approaching anodes systems,and the circulation flow of electrolyte at two different voltage gradient(i.e.1.33 and 2.66 V·cm^(-1)),and(2)the effect of moisture content(saturated,FC and 0.7 FC,FC indicated soil moisture at "Field Capacity")with a voltage gradient of 1.33 V·cm^(-1).After applying electric current for 5 days,the results of experiments indicated that the removal efficiency of heavy metals can be increased by raising the voltage *** this matter,the highest remediation can be observed among different treatments in EDTA(Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid)treatment(40.11%,43.10%and 24.7%for Zn,Cd and Pb,respectively).Moreover,the heavy metals removal at the saturated moisture was at the highest level so that 32.62%cadmium,31.33%zinc and 18.82%lead being removed after 120 h of electric current *** decreasing moisture to 0.7 FC,the removal percentage for the three heavy metals obtained 20.97%,18.44%and 12.25%,***,Cd had the highest removal,and Zn and Pb were next among the three heavy metals in question.
