Comparative study of Anaplasma parasites in tick carrying buffaloes and cattle

A comparative study on the prevalence of Anaplasma parasite was conducted on ticks carrying buffaloes and cattle. Five hundred blood samples of both animals (250 of each) were collected during February, March and April. Thin blood smears on glass slides were made, fixed in 100% methyl alcohol and examined. Microscopic examination revealed that 205 (41%) animals had Anaplasma parasites, out of which 89, 44 and 72 animals had Anaplasma marginale, Anaplasma centrale and mixed infection respectively. Infected buffaloes and cattle were 75 and 130 respectively. The infection in female was 53 and 92 in buffaloes and cattle respectively. Twenty-two and 92 blood samples of male were found positive in buffaloes and cattle respectively. Com- parative study revealed that the cattle were 26.82% more susceptible than buffaloes. The parasite prevailing percentage in female of both animals was slightly higher than that of the male. This investigation was aimed at studying the comparative prevalence of Anaplasma parasite in tick carrying buffaloes and cattle.

Study of cellulolytic soil fungi and two nova species and new medium

This study is aimed at identifying and determining the percentage of occurrence frequency of cellulose decomposing soil fungi. The soil samples were inoculated into culture plates prepared in Sabouraud medium under sterilized conditions and incubated at 30 ℃ for 4 to 7 d. The identified fungal species were incubated in self-designed cellulose medium for testing their cellulolytic ability. Forty-two species, including2 nova species, representing sixteen genera showed growth and sporulation in the cellulose medium. Most of the isolated species were from genus Aspergillus and Penicillium. Aspergillus niger and Mucor hiemalis showed highest occurrence frequency （45% and 36% respectively）, as these species were collected from about 80% of soil samples. Being agar free and cheaper, the new fungal medium designed showed results equivalent to Sabouraud medium.

＜正＞An experiment was conducted to measure immtme competence, resistance to E. coli and growth in chicks of broiler parent lines, from four different commercial breeders. The chicks of each genotype were maintained on one of the three diets, which contained three levels of copper fed ad-libitum, through 1-35 days of age. The dietary levels of copper were 0, 8 and 80 ppm/Kg of diet. Body weights were recorded at 0, 14, 28 and 35 days of age and feed efficiencies were recorded pen wise at 0-14, 0-28 and 0-35 days of interval. A preliminary analysis of some epidemiological factors involved in porcine cysticercosis in Bafut and Santa subdivisions,North West Region of Cameroon

Objective:To examine the magnitude and some risk factors of porcine eysticercosis in Bafut and Santa,two sub-divisions noted for pig farming in the North West Region of ***: A total of 499 pigs in 300 households were examined by tongue inspection and serologically by *** was sought on the age and sex of the animals,prevailing husbandry systems,types of feed,the state of each pen and the state of ***,a questionnaire was administered to the farmers to determine their awareness on taeniasis/cysticercosis and related ***:The prevalence of the disease was significantly higher in Santa(10.2%) than in Bafut(4.2%),although there was a higher level of awareness in both localities(62.3%).Age of pigs,traditional rearing systems(roaming,tethered,earth floor pen,raised floor pen),faecal disposal in the environmenl and poor sanitation significantly influenced the seroprevalence of porcine cysticercosis in both *** farmers(79.7%) used a combination of concentrate, grass and kitchen waste to feed *** loss from porcine cysticercosis was estimated at 346 900 CFA representing 2%of total ***:Control measures advanced here include sensitization campaigns,periodic examination and treatment of infected pigs by veterinarians,improved husbandry systems,proper use of standard latrines regularly inspected by sanitary officers,and sound hygienic and sanitary practices.

This experiment aimed to determine how Cd exposure impacts CD4 cell activation,macrophage cells,pinocytosis activity,metallothionine expression,and Cd levels in juvenile Gambusia affinis *** treatment groups were used,with one control and treatments A,B,C,and D at dosages of 0.03 mg/L,0.023 mg/L,0.015 mg/L,and 0.008 mg/L,*** results showed that the number of CD4 with CD8 cell markers differed significantly from each treatment compared to the control(0.33%).The value in A,namely 0.54%,was the highest,followed by B,C,and D of 0.46%,0.44%,and 0.42%,*** number of macrophages increased as the Cd level of the medium increased,as did the activity of ***,the immunofluorescence test on the gills with the Anti-MT Mouse and goat IgG fluoresce in Rhodamine on the gills showed that luminescence increased with increasing Cd levels in the ***,the MT intensity increased at Cd-exposed gills as compared to the *** the Cd level in the gills increased,the MT levels ascended significantly.

The labile organic carbon(C)and C-related enzymes are sensitive indicators capturing alterations of soil organic matter(SOM),even in a short-time *** the effects of crop husbandry and land use change on these attributes have been well studied,there is no consensus about how plant phenology may impact *** study aimed to determine the short-term effect o f six distinct phenological stages(PS-1:full bloom;PS-2:fruit set;PS-3:pit hardening;PS-4:physiological maturity;PS-5:60 d after physiological maturity;and PS-6:fall)o f peach on the changes in soil organic carbon(SOC)fractions of different oxidizability,labile C pools,and C-cycle enzyme activities in soils,for two consecutive years(2015 and 2016)in the North-Western Himalayas(NWH).Peach rhizosphere soils were sampled at the topsoil(0-15 cm)and subsoil(16-30 cm)layers,along with rhizosphere soils from adjacent perennial grasses,which served as a *** for most of the assessed parameters,including very labile C,labile C,microbial biomass C,permanganate oxidizable C,dissolved organic C,mineralizable C,amylase activity,and carboxymethyl-cellulase activity,were significantly(P<0.05)higher at PS-3 than at other phenological stages of ***,a sudden decline in these soil variables was recorded at PS-5,followed by a slight buildup at PS-6,particularly in the topsoil of the peach ***-term changes in organic C fractions of different oxidizability,influenced by peach phenological stage,significantly(P<0.05)affected C management index,C pool index,and lability *** the C management index and lability index showed their highest values at PS-3 and their lowest values at PS-5,clearly indicating short-term accretion and depletion of SOC,in tandem with the peach phenological *** component analysis suggested that a composite of soil indicators,including microbial biomass C,dissolved organic C,amylase,and invertase,could help detect short-term changes in SOC *** i
