Nutritional impact does always possess its key status all the way in the field of elderly health and comprehensive elderly *** with the process and outcome of aging trend,with the consequence of chronic change of morbidity,functional impairment of health conditions,progressive complexity of care content,and the prolonging of caring period had made the care burden on elders more challenging than *** related issues also get involved with health care and indeed nutrition must play the important *** associated with the nutrition problems are composed of a lot,complex and complicated *** assessment or evaluation of the diet & nutrition, and accompanying the active intervention if necessary,can be regarded to meet the needs of *** the whole,nutritional problems are usually composed of inappropriate intake,over-nutrition from over-intake,deficiency of special nutrients,and unbalance of food *** associated with physiological change of aging,morbid condition occurring,and long-term care *** Taiwan,one large-scaled survey,Elderly Nutrition and Health Survey in Taiwan (1999-2000),had been organized and conducted on the elders aged 65 and above.A multi-staged,stratified,clustered probability sampling scheme was used in the *** survey population was stratified into a total of 13 *** four strata of“Hakka areas”,“Mountain areas”, “Eastern”,and“PengHu Islands”were unique in their ethnicity or geographic *** remaining areas of Taiwan were stratified into“Northern”, “Central”,and“Southern”parts with these 3 strata then each subdivided into a further 3 strata based on population *** survey was arranged such that effect of seasonal variation was accounted for.A total of 1,937 persons completed the interview and 2,432 persons completed the health *** following data were collected:(1) Interview data:household information,basic demographics,24 hour dietary recall,food frequency and habit,

Varicoceles had been recognized in clinical practice for over a century. Originally, these procedures were utilized for the management of pain but, since 1952, the repairs had been mostly for the treatment of male infertility. However, the diagnosis and treatment of varicoceles were controversial, because the pathophysiology was not clear, the entry criteria of the studies varied among centers, and there were few randomized clinical trials. Nevertheless, clinicians continued developing techniques for the correction of varicoceles, basic scientists continued investigations on the pathophysiology of varicoceles, and new outcome data from prospective randomized trials have appeared in the world＇s literature. Therefore, this special edition of the Asian Journal of Andrology was proposed to report much of the new information related to varicoceles and, as a specific part of this project, the present article was developed as a comprehensive review of the evolution and refinements of the corrective procedures.

A series of L-mode discharges have been conducted in the new‘corner slot’divertor on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak(EAST)to study the divertor plasma behavior through sweeping strike *** plasma control system controls the strike point sweeping from the horizontal target to the vertical target through poloidal field coils,with keeping the main plasma *** surface temperature of the divertor target cools down as the strike point moves away,indicating that sweeping strike point mitigates the heat *** avoid the negative effect of probe tip damage,a method based on sweeping strike point is used to get the normalized profile and study the decay length of particle and heat flux on the divertor target λ_(js),_λ(q).In the discharges with high radio-frequency(RF)heating power,electron temperature T_(e) is lower and λ_(js)is larger when the strike point locates on the horizontal target compared to the vertical target,probably due to the corner *** the Ohmic discharges,λ_(js),λ_(q) are much larger compared to the discharges with high RF heating power,which may be attributed to lower edge T_(e).

Patients affected by pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)frequently present with advanced disease at the time of diagnosis,limiting an upfront surgical *** treatment(NAT)has become the standard of care to downstage non-metastatic locally advanced ***,this treatment increases the risk of a nutritional status decline,which in turn,may impact therapeutic tolerance,postoperative outcomes,or even prevent the possibility of *** on prehabilitation programs on surgical PDAC patients show a reduction of postoperative complications,length of hospital stay,and readmission rate,while data on prehabilitation in NAT patients are scarce and randomized controlled trials are still ***,appropriate nutritional management represents an important therapeutic strategy to promote tissue healing and to enhance patient recovery after surgical *** this regard,NAT may represent a new interesting window of opportunity to implement a nutritional prehabilitation program,aiming to increase the PDAC patient’s capacity to complete the planned therapy and potentially improve clinical and survival *** these perspectives,this review attempts to provide an in-depth view of the nutritional derangements during NAT and nutritional prehabilitation program as well as their impact on PDAC patient outcomes.
