Optical information transmission is vital in modern optics and photonics due to its concurrent and multi-dimensional nature,leading to tremendous applications such as optical microscopy,holography,and optical *** optical information transmission technologies suffer from bulky optical setup and information loss/crosstalk when meeting scatterers or obstacles in the light ***,we theoretically propose and experimentally realize the simultaneous manipulation of the coherence lengths and coherence structures of the light beams with the disordered *** ultra-robust optical information transmission and self-reconstruction can be realized by the generated partially coherent beam with modulated coherence structure even 93%of light is recklessly obstructed during light transmission,which brings new light to robust optical information transmission with a single *** method provides a generic principle for the generalized coherence manipulation on the photonic platform and displays a variety of functionalities advancing capabilities in optical information transmission such as meta-holography and imaging in disordered and perturbative media.

This paper presents a wide-bandwidth back-illuminated modified uni-traveling-carrier photodiode(MUTC-PD)packaged with standard WR-5 rectangular waveguide for high-speed wireless *** optimized epitaxy structure and coplanar waveguide electrodes,the fabricated 4-μm-diameter PD exhibits ultra-flat frequency response and high saturation *** passive circuits including low-loss bias-tee and E-plane probe are designed to package the PD into a compact module with waveguide *** packaged PD module has demonstrated a flat frequency response with fluctuations within±2.75 d B over a broadband of 140–220 GHz and a high saturated output power of-7.8 d Bm(166μW)at 140 *** wireless communication applications,the packaged PD is used to implement 1-m free space transmission at carrier frequencies of 150.5 and 210.5 GHz,with transmission rates of 75 and 90 Gbps,respectively.

Tuning hot carrier transfer dynamics by perovskite surface modification

Understanding the role of perovskite surface passivators in hot carriers transfer dynamics is important to develop highly efficient perovskite solar cells(PSCs). In this work, we have designed and synthesized a naphthalimide-based organic small molecule(NCN) for perovskite surface defect passivator. We reveal that the introduction of NCN not only reduces the density of perovskite defect-state, but also promotes hot carriers(HCs) cooling in perovskite through the transient absorption spectroscopy measurements. Fast HCs cooling permits HCs transfer from perovskite layer into NCN layer, thus resulting in the decreased charge-carrier recombination in NCN-treated device. As expected, the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of PSCs with NCN is enhanced to 22.02% from 19.95% for the control device. The findings are relevant for developing highly efficient PSCs.

Privacy-Preserving Federated Mobility Prediction with Compound Data and Model Perturbation Mechanism

Human mobility prediction is important for many ***,training an accurate mobility prediction model requires a large scale of human trajectories,where privacy issues become an important *** rising federated learning provides us with a promising solution to this problem,which enables mobile devices to collaboratively learn a shared prediction model while keeping all the training data on the device,decoupling the ability to do machine learning from the need to store the data in the ***,existing federated learningbased methods either do not provide privacy guarantees or have vulnerability in terms of privacy *** this paper,we combine the techniques of data perturbation and model perturbation mechanisms and propose a privacy-preserving mobility prediction algorithm,where we add noise to the transmitted model and the raw data collaboratively to protect user privacy and keep the mobility prediction *** experimental results show that our proposed method significantly outperforms the existing stateof-the-art mobility prediction method in terms of defensive performance against practical attacks while having comparable mobility prediction performance,demonstrating its effectiveness.

High-power all-polarization-maintaining fiber femtosecond pulse laser at 780 nm and its engineering integration

We present a high-power, high-stability all-polarization-maintaining (all-PM)fiber femtosecond pulse laser source at 780 nm with full engineering integration that comprises an all-PM fiber amplified chirped pulse laser at 1560 nm, a grating pair compressorandasecond-harmonicgeneration(SHG)***-PMfiber amplified chirped pulse laser at 1560 nm operates with a repetition rate of 111.5 MHz and an average power of 5.37 W, which is compressed with a pulse width of～204 *** 780-nm pulses are subsequently generated by SHG in a frequency-doubling *** achieve an average power of 2.22 W at 780 nm with a pulse width of 288 fs, an SHG efficiency of 52%, and a root-mean-square power fluctuation of 0.23%, which is *** integrated for practical application with reliable laser operation. We anticipate that this780-nmall-PMfiberfemtosecondpulselaserwithfullengineeringintegrationis promising for frontier applications, like two-photon imaging, nanofabrication, terahertz generation, etc.

Recently,Mach–Zehnder modulators based on thin-film lithium niobate have attracted broad interest for their potential for high modulation bandwidth,low insertion loss,high extinction ratio,and high modulation *** periodic capacitively loaded traveling-wave electrode is optimally adopted for ultimate high-performances in this type of ***,such an electrode structure on a silicon substrate still suffers from the velocity mismatch and substrate leakage loss for microwave ***,we introduce a thin-film lithium niobate modulator structure using this periodic capacitively loaded electrode on a silicon *** holes in the silicon substrate are prepared to solve robustly the above *** fabricated device exhibits an insertion loss of 0.9 dB,a halfwave-voltage–length product of 2.18 V·cm,and an ultra-wide bandwidth well exceeding 67 GHz for a 10-mm-long *** transmissions with rates up to 112 Gb/s are *** proposed structure and fabrication strategy are compatible for other types of monolithic and heterogeneous integrated thin-film lithium niobate modulators on a silicon substrate.

Tuning the ferroelectricity of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 with alloy electrodes

Tuning ferroelectricity of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2is crucial for facilitating its practical applications in various fields, including in-memory and neuromorphic computing. Previous studies have revealed that the electrodes have a significant influence on ferroelectricity, and changing electrode materials can realize different but discrete ferroelectric polarization values. Here, we introduce an alloy-electrode method, in order to achieve gradual and accurate modulation of ferroelectric polarization, especially useful for matching the polarization charges at the interface of ferroelectric insulators and ferroelectric semiconductors. Au and W electrodes are chosen as baselines for realizing weak and strong ferroelectric polarization, where the intermediate states can be achieved by adjusting the ratio of metals in the Au-W alloy. To demonstrate the generality of this approach, the Cu-W alloy electrode is also realized for tuning ferroelectric polarization. The effect of alloy electrodes on device leakage current, endurance, and retention is evaluated. In addition, the temperature stability of ferroelectric capacitors is tested, where limited changes in both remnant polarization and coercive voltages are observed, showing the great potential of the ferroelectric hafnium oxide. Such gradual modulation of ferroelectric polarization could facilitate the application of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2in in-memory and neuromorphic computing.

Enhancement-mode(E-mode)GaN-on-Si radio-frequency(RF)high-electron-mobility transistors(HEMTs)were fabri-cated on an ultrathin-barrier(UTB)AlGaN(<6 nm)/GaN heterostructure featuring a naturally depleted 2-D electron gas(2DEG)*** fabricated E-mode HEMTs exhibit a relatively high threshold voltage(VTH)of+1.1 V with good uniformity.A maxi-mum current/power gain cut-off frequency(fT/fMAX)of 31.3/99.6 GHz with a power added efficiency(PAE)of 52.47%and an out-put power density(Pout)of 1.0 W/mm at 3.5 GHz were achieved on the fabricated E-mode HEMTs with 1-μm gate and Au-free ohmic contact.
