The most prestigious catalyst applied in natural gas （methane） non-oxidative conversion to petrochemicals is 6%Mo/H-ZSM-5. Chromium, molybdenum and tungsten are the group VI metals. Hence, in this work, 6%Mo/H-ZSM-5 was correlated with 3%Cr＋3%Mo/H-ZSM-5 and 3%W＋3%Mo/H-ZSM-5 as catalysts to examine their promoting or inhibiting effects on the various reactions taking place during methane conversion. The catalytic activities of these catalysts were tested in a continuous flow fixed bed reactor at 700℃ and a GHSV of 1500 ml·g^-1·h^-1 Characterization of the catalysts using XRD, TGA and TPD were investigated. XRD and NH3-TPD showed greater interaction between the W-phase and the Bronsted acid sites in the channels of the zeolite than between Cr-phase and the acid sites in the zeolite.

Suitable control of the humidity can contribute to electric energy savings. However, the present dehumidification system has many weak points. The liquid desiccant air-conditioning system has recently gained growing interest from the stand point of reducing energy consumption during dehumidification. In order to find the appropriate ionic liquids(ILs) as a desiccant for the liquid desiccant air-conditioner system, we conducted a systematic evaluation of the humidification capability of 16 types of ILs. Among the tested ILs, tributyl(methyl)phosphonium dimethyl phosphate([P4441][DMPO_4]) exhibited the best dehumidification capacity and had a less corrosive effect on four types of metals as possible piping materials. It should be noted that this [P_(4441)][DMPO_4] has a very stable nature and produced no odor while conducting the experiment and storing for over 1 year at room temperature under ambient conditions. Furthermore, it was revealed that a 77%(w/w) aqueous solution of [P4441][DMPO_4] worked as an efficient desiccant liquid for the liquid desiccant air-conditioner system.

Combined Moho Parameters Determination Using CRUST1.0 and Vening Meinesz-Moritz Model

According to Vening Meinesz-Moritz （VMM） global inverse isostatic problem, either the Moho density contrast （crust-mantle density contrast） or the Moho geometry can be estimated by solv- ing a non-linear Fredholm integral equation of the first kind. Here solutions to the two Moho parame- ters are presented by combining the global geopotential model （GOCO-03S）, topography （DTM2006） and a seismic crust model, the latter being the recent digital global crustal model （CRUST1.0） with a resolution of 1°×1°. The numerical results show that the estimated Moho density contrast varies from 21 to 637 kg/m3, with a global average of 321 kg/m^3, and the estimated Moho depth varies from 6 to 86 km with a global average of 24 km. Comparing the Moho density contrasts estimated using our least-squares method and those derived by the CRUST1.0, CRUST2.0, and PREM models shows that our estimate agrees fairly well with CRUST1.0 model and rather poor with other models. The estimated Moho depths by our least-squares method and the CRUST1.0 model agree to 4.8 km in RMS and with the GEMMA1.0 based model to 6.3 km.

Effect of Pre-treatment of α-Ketoglutarate on Cyanide-induced Toxicity and Alterations in Various Physiological Variables in Rodents

Objective To investigate the effects of pre-treatment of α-ketoglutarate （α-KG） on cyanide-induced lethality and changes in various physiological parameters in rodents. Methods The LD50 of potassium cyanide （KCN） given orally （po）, intraperitoneally （ip）, subcutaneously （sc） or intravenously （iv） was determined in male mice, in the presence or absence α-KG given po, ip or iv. α-KG was administered 10, 20 or 40 min prior to KCN at 0.50, 1.0 or 2.0 g/kg by po or ip route, and at 0.10, 0.20 or 0.40 g/kg by iv route. Protection index （PI） was calculated as the ratio of LD50 of KCN in the presence of α-KG （protected animals） and LD50 of KCN in the absence of α-KG （unprotected animals）. In a separate experiment, several physiological variables viz. mean arterial pressure （MAP）, heart rate （HR）, respiratory rate （RR）, neuromuscular transmission （NMT） and rectal temperature （RT） were measured in anesthetized female rats pre-treated （-10 rain） with po （2.0 g/kg） or iv （0.125 g/kg） α-KG and then administered sub-lethal （0.75 LD50） or lethal （2.0, 4.0 or 8.0 LD50） doses of KCN （po）. Results PI of 4.52, 6.40 and 7.60 at -10 min, 3.20, 5.40 and 6.40 at -20 min, and 1.40, 3.20 and 5.40 at -40 min of po administration with α-KG was observed for 0.50, 1.0 and 2.0 g/kg doses, respectively, against KCN given by po route. When KCN was given ip, a PI of 3.38, 4.79 and 5.70 was observed for 0.50, 1.0 and 2.0 g/kg α-KG given ip （-10 min）, respectively. A lower PI of 3.37, 2.83 and 2.38 was observed when KCN given sc was challenged by 2.0 g/kg α-KG given ip at -10, -20 or -40 min, respectively. Similarly, a PI of 3.37, 2.83 and 2.0 was noted when KCN given sc was antagonized by 2.0 g/kg α-KG given po at -10, -20 or -40 rain, respectively. No appreciable protection was observed when lower doses of α-KG （ip or po） challenged KCN given by sc route. Pre-treatment of iv or po administration of α-KG did not afford any protection against KCN given po or iv route. Oral treatment of 0.75 LD50 KCN

Objective To investigate the biochemical changes in rat brain and liver following acute exposure to a lethal dose of cyanide, and its response to treatment of α-ketoglutarate （α-KG） in the absence or presence of sodium thiosulfate （STS）. Methods Female rats were administered 2.0 LD50 potassium cyanide （KCN; oral） in the absence or presence of pre-treatment （-10 rain）, simultaneous treatment （0 rain） or post-treatment （＋2-3 min） of α-KG （2.0 g/kg, oral） and/or STS （1.0 g/kg, intraperitoneal, -15 min, 0 rain or ＋ 2-3 min）. At the time of onset of signs and symptoms of KCN toxicity （2-4 min） and at the time of death （5-15 min）, various parameters particularly akin to oxidative stress viz. cytochrome oxidase （CYTOX）, superoxide dismutase （SOD）, glutathione peroxidase （GPx）, reduced glutathione （GSH） and oxidized glutathione （GSSG） in brain, and CYTOX, sorbitol dehydrogenase （SDH）, alkaline phosphatase （ALP）, GSH and GSSG in liver homogenate were measured. Results At both time intervals brain CYTOX, SOD, GPx, and GSH significantly reduced （percent inhibition compared to control） to 24%, 56%, 77%, and 65%, and 44%, 46%, 78%, and 57%, respectively. At the corresponding time points liver CYTOX and GSH reduced to 74% and 63%, and 44% and 68%, respectively. The levels of GSSG in the brain and liver, and hepatic ALP and SDH were unchanged, Pre-treatment and simultaneous treatment of α-KG alone or with STS conferred significant protection on above variables. Post-treatment was effective in restoring the changes in liver but failed to normalize the changes in the brain. Conclusions Oral treatment with α-KG alone or in combination with STS has protective effects on cyanide-induced biochemical alterations in rat brain and liver.

The objective of this article is to uncover benefits and risks of Integrated Product Service Offering （IPSO） in a systematic manner. To do so, it adopts an explorative longitudinal in-depth case study （development of an IPSO based on a new technology） and adds insights to the existing literature. The article first proposes a theoretical and generic framework termed the PCP （Provider - Customer - Product） triangle with associated information flow and uncertainty. Second, various types of benefits and risks are presented based on the framework. Among others, the benefit of keeping IPR （Intellectual Property Rights） with the provider and the risk of regulation change are new findings from the case study. In addition, the case study reveals that IPSO is regarded as a positive contributor to innovation. Applying the framework and classification of benefits and risks as norms to other cases has yet to be done for verification. However, the framework contributes scientifically to a better understanding of the benefits and risks of IPSO. In addition, this framework is advantageous with its easiness to understand, which contributes practically to the dissemination of IPS0 insight to industry.

To investigate the gas-solid flow pattern of a combustor-style fluid catalytic cracking regenerator, a laboratory-scale regenerator was designed. In scaling down from an actual regenerator, large-diameter hydrodynamic effects were taken into consideration. These considerations are the novelties of the present study. Applying the Eulerian-Eulerian approach, a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics （CFD） model of the regenerator was developed. Using this model, various aspects of the hydrodynamic behavior that are potentially effective in catalyst regeneration were investigated. The CFD simulation results show that at various sections the gas-solid flow patterns exhibit different behavior because of the asymmetric location of the catalyst inlets and the lift outlets. The ratio of the recirculated catalyst to spent catalyst determines the quality of the spent and recirculated catalyst mixing and distribution because the location and quality of vortices change in the lower part of the combustor. The simulation results show that recirculated catalyst considerably reduces the air bypass that disperses the catalyst particles widely over the cross section. Decreasing the velocity of superficial air produces a complex flow pattern whereas the variation in catalyst mass flux does not alter the flow pattern significantly as the flow is dilute.
