Study of interfacial transition zones between magnesium phosphate cement and Portland cement concrete pavement

The Portland cement concrete pavement(PCCP) often suffers from different environmental distresses and vehicle load failure, resulting in slab corner fractures, potholes, and other diseases. Rapid repair has become one of the effective ways to open traffic rapidly. In this study, a novel type of rapid repair material, basalt fiber reinforced polymer modified magnesium phosphate cement(BFPMPC), is used to rapidly repair PCCP. Notably, the mechanical properties and characteristics of the repair interfaces which are named interfacial transition zones(ITZs) formed by BFPMPC and cement concrete are focused on as a decisive factor for the performance of the rapid repair. The changing trend of the elastic moduli was studied by nanoindentation experiments in the ITZs with the deconvolution analysis that the elastic moduli of certain kinds of substances can be determined.The experimental results show that the elastic modulus of ITZ-1 with a width of about20 μm can be regarded as 0.098 times of the aggregate, and 0.51 times of the ordinary Portland cement(OPC) mortar. The BFPMPC-OPC mortar ITZ has roughly the same mechanical properties as the ITZ between aggregate and BFPMPC. A multi-scale representative two-dimensional model was established by random aggregate and a two-dimensional extended finite element method(XFEM) to study the mechanical properties of the repair interface. The simulation results show that the ITZ formed by the interface of BFPMPC and OPC mortar and basalt aggregate is the most vulnerable to failure, which is consistent with the nano-indentation experimental results.

To ensure the correctness of train control system design and development,the ways of simulation,test and formalization were compared.According to the safe critical attribute of train control system,the characters related to system safety were propounded such as real time,hybrid,distribution(concurrence)and reactivity,and the specific formal methods associated with every character were introduced in details.The analysis and classification of the methods were done based on their mathematical basis and applications,and their advantages and disadvantages were given.Analysis result indicates that every method has determinate limitations,which is determined by the essences of model checking and theory proving.It is pointed out that the presentation of new method,the expansion of existing methods and the integration of many methods will be the development trend of formalization in train control system.

Exhaust hood performance and its improvement technologies in industrial buildings:A literatu rereview

The pollutant control performance of exhaust hoods plays a crucial role in the indoor air quality and energy consumption of ventilation systems in industrial buildings.To better understand the impact of local ventilation on the industrial indoor environment,this paper presents a literature review of exhaust hood performance and its improvement technologies.To create an index for evaluating the performance of exhaust hoods,the capture velocity,capture efficiency,flow ratio of pollutant emissions and exhaust airflow and energy consumption are first introduced.A number of factors affecting exhaust hood performance are assessed such as hood type,hood opening size,exhaust rate,installation distance,pollution source emission and environmental disturbance.Compared to structural improvement methods,the use of active airflow is a more effective way to improve the exhaust hood performance.The most commonly used methods for determining the exhaust rate are the controlled speed method and the flow ratio method.The use of an exhaust hood with an appropriate exhaust rate and jet parameters(for an active air-assisted hood)can effectively improve the pollutant control performance and reduce the energy consumption that would be wasted on the redundant exhaust rate.With more information focused on exhaust hood performance,this work suggests more effective strategies for improving indoor air quality and reducing energy consumption in industrial buildings.

Short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy using multivariate variable based on deep learning

Short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy is essential to the ITS system,which can guide drivers in finding vacant parking spaces.And the spatial dependencies and exogenous dependencies need to be considered simultaneously,which makes short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy challenging.Therefore,this paper proposes a deep learning model for predicting block-level parking occupancy.First,the importance of multiple points of interest(POI)in different buffers is sorted by Boruta,used for feature selection.The results show that different types of POI data should consider different buffer radii.Then based on the real on-street parking data,long short-term memory(LSTM)that can address the time dependencies is applied to predict the parking occupancy.The results demonstrate that LSTM considering POI data after Boruta selection(LSTM(+BORUTA))outperforms other baseline methods,including LSTM,with an average testing MAPE of 11.78%.The selection process of POI data helps LSTM reduce training time and slightly improve the prediction performance,which indicates that complex correlations among the same type of POI data in different buffer zones will also affect the prediction accuracy of LSTM.When there are more restaurants on both sides of the street,the prediction performance of LSTM(+BORUTA)is significantly better than that of LSTM.

Data and Model Driven Task Offloading Strategy in the Dynamic Mobile Edge Computing System

Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)provides communication and computational capabilities for the industrial Internet,meeting the demands of latency-sensitive tasks.Nevertheless,traditional model-driven task offloading strategies face challenges in adapting to situations with unknown network communication status and computational capabilities.This limitation becomes notably significant in complex industrial networks of high-speed railway.Motivated by these considerations,a data and model-driven task offloading problem is proposed in this paper.A redundant communication network is designed to adapt to anomalous channel states when tasks are offloaded to edge servers.The link switching mechanism is executed by the train according to the attributes of the completed task.The task offloading optimization problem is formulated by introducing data-driven prediction of communication states into the traditional model.Furthermore,the optimal strategy is achieved by employing the informer-based prediction algorithm and the quantum particle swarm optimization method,which effectively tackle real-time optimization problems due to their low time complexity.The simulations illustrate that the data and model-driven task offloading strategy can predict the communication state in advance,thus reducing the cost of the system and improving its robustness.

The design and synthesis of self-suspending photocatalyst device with easy recyclability is important for practical application.Here,this work utilizes aluminum-plastic package waste as raw material to prepare an aluminum-plastic supported TiO_(2)(AP-TiO_(2))photocatalyst device through 3D printing design and surface deposition method.A series of characterizations were carried out to explore the structure,morphology and performance of the AP-TiO_(2)device.Under UV light illumination,the AP-TiO_(2)-50 efficiently degrade 93.6%tetracycline hydrochloride(THC)after 4 hr,which increases by 8.3%compared with that of TiO_(2)powder suspension system with the same catalyst amount.Based on it,AP-ZnO,AP-CdS,AP-g-C_3N_4and AP-Pt-TiO_(2)are also fabricated,and applied in photocatalytic degradation and hydrogen evolution,which all exhibit higher photoactivities than powder suspension systems.This work provides a new avenue for the fabrication of advanced recyclable photocatalyst device.Moreover,the work offers a novel sight for the high-value utilization of aluminum-plastic package waste,which has positive implications for environmental protection.

Multiscale Characteristics and Connection Mechanisms of Attraction Networks:A Trajectory Data Mining Approach Leveraging Geotagged Data

Urban tourism is considered a complex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has become a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and connection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination planning.This paper uses geotagging data to compare the links between attractions in Beijing,China during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the COVID-19(Corona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the destination.The results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the commonalities and differences in the development process of tourism networks.The macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high value.The mesoscale links attractions according to the common purpose of tourists,and the results of the community segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by incomplete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of clusters.The pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional collaboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four different periods has a very similar importance prof

Enhanced recovery of high-purity Fe powder from iron-rich electrolytic manganese residue by slurry electrolysis

Iron-rich electrolytic manganese residue(IREMR)is an industrial waste produced during the processing of electrolytic metal manganese,and it contains certain amounts of Fe and Mn resources and other heavy metals.In this study,the slurry electrolysis technique was used to recover high-purity Fe powder from IREMR.The effects of IREMR and H2SO4 mass ratio,current density,reaction temper-ature,and electrolytic time on the leaching and current efficiencies of Fe were studied.According to the results,high-purity Fe powder can be recovered from the cathode plate,and the slurry electrolyte can be recycled.The leaching efficiency,current efficiency,and purity of Fe reached 92.58%,80.65%,and 98.72wt%,respectively,at a 1:2.5 mass ratio of H2SO4 and IREMR,reaction temperature of 60℃,electric current density of 30 mA/cm^(2),and reaction time of 8 h.In addition,vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)analysis showed that the coercivity of electrolytic iron powder was 54.5 A/m,which reached the advanced magnetic grade of electrical pure-iron powder(DT4A coercivity standard).The slurry electrolytic method provides fundamental support for the industrial application of Fe resource recovery in IRMER.

Road sub-surface defect detection based on gprMax forward simulation-sample generation and Swin Transformer-YOLOX

Training samples for deep learning networks are typically obtained through various field experiments,which require significant manpower,resource and time consumption.However,it is possible to utilize simulated data to augment the training samples.In this paper,by comparing the actual experimental model with the simulated model generated by the gprMax[1]forward simulation method,the feasibility of obtaining simulated samples through gprMax simulation is validated.Subsequently,the samples generated by gprMax forward simulation are used for training the network to detect objects in existing real samples.At the same time,aiming at the detection and intelligent recognition of road sub-surface defects,the Swin-YOLOX algorithm is introduced,and the excellence of the detection network,which is improved by augmenting the simulated samples with real samples,is further verified.By comparing the prediction performance of the object detection models,it is observed that the model trained with mixed samples achieved a recall of 94.74%and a mean average precision(maP)of 97.71%,surpassing the model trained only on real samples by 12.95%and 15.64%,respectively.The feasibility and excellence of training the model with mixed samples are confirmed.The potential of using a fusion of simulated and existing real samples instead of repeatedly acquiring new real samples by field experiment is demonstrated by this study,thereby improving detection efficiency,saving resources,and providing a new approach to the problem of multiple interpretations in ground penetrating radar(GPR)data.

Sludge composition and characteristics shaped microbial community and further determined process performance: A study on full-scale thermal hydrolysis-anaerobic digestion processes

Anaerobic digestion (AD) with thermal hydrolysis (TH) pretreatment is a promising process for excess sludge treatment,while there lacks of the knowledge from full-scale process about the impact of sludge composition and characteristics on microbial community and performance.The sludge physiochemical indices,microbial community and performance data of four full-scale TH-AD plants were characterized,and their relationships was elucidated.The four plants were operated under almost similar total organic loading rate (OLR)but their methanogenesis performance differentiate into two groups,namely superior group(SupG) and the inferior group (Inf G).In both groups,TH effectively solubilized particulate organic compounds,meanwhile raised the ammonia nitrogen (NH_(4)^(+)-N) and volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration.Compared with the Sup G,thermal hydrolyzed sludge of Inf G had higher level of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and total chemical oxygen demand (t COD),which showed higher inhibition effect on microbes,leading to a community with lower diversity,lower abundance of carbohydrate degrading functional guild,higher protein degrading one,and methanogens that adapted to limited substrates,and further declined the methane production rate.Thus,it was recommended that OLR alone was not sufficient for controlling the system in design and operation,the concentration of VFAs,NH_(4)^(+)-N and t COD should be equally considered.Their higher concentration,together with the higher abundance of Defluviitoga and Proteiniphilum were recommended as indicators for inferior running condition.Our results proposed that microbial communities played a role of bridge between environmental factors and performance,provided implications for engineering ecology and operational regulation for full-scale sludge TH-AD process.
