Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most important opportunistic human pathogens worldwide. High prevalence of Multi Drug Resistant P. aeruginosa (MDRPa) in Iran is a serious problem for antimicrobial therapy. Several studies have reported the MDRPa in Europe and Asia. Due to the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, bacterial resistance is increasing in Iran, located in Middle East. The present cross-sectional study was designed to investigate the prevalence of class1 integron, resistance gene cassettes and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles among isolates of P. aeruginosa in Al-Zahra Hospital, Isfahan City, central part of Iran from Jan-Sep 2014. The aim of this study was to determine the antimicrobial susceptibility, the prevalence of Class1 integron, resistance gene a measuring in Iran. A total of 231 P. aeruginosa isolates were collected from clinical specimens including urine (50.6%), tracheal tube (25.5%), wound (13.4%), blood (6.1%), catheter (2.2%), cerebrospinal fluid (1.7%) and sputum (0.4%) isolates from hospitalized patients (mean age: 50.27 ± 24.12 years).The majority of patients (68%) were male. Isolates were collected from different parts of the hospital as follows: ICU, Internal Medicine, Emergency care, Pediatrics, Nephrology, Transplant Center, General surgery and Infectious. Revealed data show a high rate of MDR P. aeruginosa isolates in the studied area;also, the result signifies the spread of aadA6 among clinical isolates in hospitalized patients.

In this study, the position of all major rill and gully erosion sites were located using hand held GPS （Global Positioning System） receiver during reconnaissance surveys. Based on severity rating and geopolitical considerations, six of the erosion gully sites were selected for monitoring. Control points were established around each of the gully sites using three Leica 500 dual frequency GPS receivers by method of DGPS （differential GPS） surveys. Detailed topographical survey of the gully sites was carried out using total stations. With the aid of SPOT satellite imageries in combination with total station data and GIS （geographic information system） location maps, contoured maps along with DEM （digital elevation model） were generated using ARCGIS 9.2 software. The morphological parameters of the gullies including depth, width, length and area of the gullies were determined. Volumetric estimate of the amount of soil loss from gully erosion was also carried out. Soil samples were recovered from the gully sites to determine their erodibility and other parameters to be used for soil loss modeling. The result of the studies was used as an indicator for determining the gully initiation point. Slope-area relationship and threshold of gully initiation was established. The minimum volume of soil loss occurred in gully No. 2 （Queen Ede）. The minimum AS^2 value was 345 while the maximum was 3,267.

Determination of the High Temperature Stress Tolerances of Bread Wheat Genotypes

Thirty bread wheat genotypes were used as material during the 2014-2015 cropping season. The experimental layout was a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The sowing rate was 500 seeds square meter. Sowing was done in plots of 6 rows （1.2 m × 5 m, spaced 20 cm apart） in Namlk Kemal University, faculty of Agriculture, Field Crops Department experimental area. Two sowing times were performed. First sowing was made in November suggested usual （standard） and second one was made in January as delayed sown in order to push growing stages of plants into periods in which heat stress is expected will be effected. Sowing times were allotted to main-plots while genotypes were allotted to sub-plots. When the bread wheat varieties and lines used in the experiment are evaluated in terms of tolerance to high temperature, it was shown that Dropia and Nota varieties and CIMMYT-HTN 2014/15-2, CIMMYT-HTN 2014/15 -6, CIMMYT-HTN 2014/15 - 10 lines were better tolerance to high temperature. However, it was noticed that these genotypes were not included in the first groups in terms of grain yield. It is possible to utilize these genotypes as a genitor in cross-breeding programs for breeding studies for tolerance to high temperatures.

Vitex agnus-castus is a small tree or shrub, belonging to the family Verbenaceae. It is a deciduous shrub native to European, Mediterranean, and Central Asian countries. V. agnus castus has a long tradition as a herbal remedy and was used in ancient times not only as an anaphrodisiac but also against diverse disturbances of the female genital system. The major constituents in V. agnus-castus are flavonoids, essential oils, diterpenes, and glycosides. The flavonoids （casticin, quercetagetin, and isovitexin） have been shown in vitro to affect estrogen receptors. V. agnus-castus could be used to treat acne, digestive complaints, menstrual irregularities, premen- strual syndrome （PMS）, mastalgia, and infertility, and also for lactation support. Although V. agnus-castus has been used for centuries and enjoys wide support from practitioners and the general public for many gynecological complaints, few clinical studies support its documented uses. The presence of phytochemical and pharmacological activities has proved that the plant has a leading capacity for the development of new good efficacy drug in future.

In this review,we discussed the findings and concepts underlying the potential role of Helicobacter pylori(***) infections in the initiation,development or persistence of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease(CHD).This Gram-negative bacterium was described by Marshall and Warren in *** majority of infected subjects carries and transmits *** with no symptoms; however,in some individuals these bacteria may cause peptic ulcers,and even gastric *** widespread prevalence of *** infections and the fact that frequently they remain asymptomatic may suggest that,similarly to intestinal microflora,*** may deliver antigens that stimulate not only local,but also systemic inflammatory ***,possible association between *** infection and extragastric disorders has been *** on the etiology of atherosclerosis together with current findings in the area of *** infections constitute the background for the newly proposed hypothesis that those two processes may be *** research studies confirm the indirect association between the prevalence of *** and the occurrence of *** to majority of findings the involvement of *** in this process is based on the chronic inflammation which might facilitate the CHDrelated *** needs to be elucidated,if the infection initiates or just accelerates the formation of atheromatous plaque.

New dibutyltin(IV) complexes of Schiff base derived from 5-chloroindoline-2,3-dione, indoline- 2,3-dione with amino acids (tryptophan, alanine and valine) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra, conductance measurements, and biological activity. The analytical data showed that the Schiff base ligand acts as bidentate towards metal ions via the azomethine nitrogen and carboxylate oxygen by a stoichiometric reaction of M:L (1:2) to form metal complexes. NMR (1H, 13C and 119Sn) spectral data of the ligands and metal complex agree with proposed structures. The conductivity values between 14 - 27 ohm-1cm2mol-1 in DMF imply the presence of non-electrolyte species. 3D molecular modeling and analysis of bond lengths and bond angles have also been conducted for a representative compound, [Bu2Sn(L2)2], to substantiate the proposed structures. Antibacterial results indicate that the metal complexes are more active than the free ligands.

Impact of Preoperative Serum Tumor Markers in Patients with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background: Several previous researchers have investigated the prognostic value of serum tumor markers, especially carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Only a limited number of studies reported the usefulness of serum tumor markers for lung squamous cell carcinoma (SQ). We aimed to examine the significance of serum tumor markers for lung SQ. Methods: Eighty-five lung SQ patients who underwent surgery and followed more than 5-year were included. The ratios of 5-year survivors to all patients in groups with several clinicopathologic factors, including tumor markers, were compared. We also compared the clinicopathologic factors between central type and peripheral type SQ. Results: The majority of patients were male gender and current/ former smokers. Age, pN status, cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA 21-1), squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC), and comorbid interstitial pneumonia (IP) were associated with the ratio of 5-year survivors significantly. When patients were compared based on tumor location, high p-stage and CYFRA 21-1 were related to central type SQ. Conclusion: Both SCC and CYFRA 21-1 appeared to be useful prognostic markers for patients with lung SQ. Furthermore, CYFRA 21-1 was related to central type SQ.
