*** sterilization and germination *** seeds were surface sterilized in 70%ethanol for 15 min,2%NaClO added 1 drop of Tween 20 for 25 min and then rinsed in four to six volumes of sterile water. Approximately 200 seeds were placed in round Petri dishes(90 mm×25 mm) containing 0.1% Noble *** plates were sealed with parafilm,placed at 4℃for 2 days to stimulate germination,and then transferred to a 16℃growth incubator under a light condition. Germination occurred 10-14 days after sowing.

By means of bioassay laboratory, the releasing mode of allelochemicals of Artemisia annua L. were researched on the wheat, oat, cucumber and radish. The results showed that the volatile matter of the aerial part of Artemisia annua L. had the inhibition effects on four receptor plants;the inhibition synthesis effect(SE) were 57.17,56.29,45.38 and 30.22 respectively;the eluviate matter of the aerial part of Artemisia annua L. had not evident effects on four receptor plant’s fresh weight and dry weight;but had certain allelopathic effect on seedling growth. The residues of Artemisia annua L. in 15 days by the microorganism degenerated had the high inhibition on wheat and radish;the inhibition Synthesis effect were 73.09 and 57.03 respectively, and then became low. The root exudates of Artemisia annua L. had the inhibition effects on wheat and oat;the inhibition synthesis effect were 17.80 and 2.43 respectively, had the certain promote effects on cucumber and radish;the inhibition synthesis effect were -5.60 and -3.63 respectively. The allelochemicals of Artemisia annua L. has four mode releasing to the ecosystem in nature condition, the main are the volatile and the eluviate mode, the subordinate mode is the residues and the root exudates.

In dry flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems the sorbent (usually slaked lime,limestone ordolomite) is injected directly into the furnace,into the ductwork after the furnace an lower temperature.,or into a spray dryer *** these processes produce a dry by-product which is removed in theparticulate control equipment,as opposed to wet scrubber system in which the by-product is a slurrycollected separately from the fly *** FGD scrubber by-products from lime or limestone injected directly into the furnace such asthird bed combustion (FBC) and LIMB (lime injected multistage burners) systems,have neutralization,sorption,and cementation propertics that make them potential reagents for hazardous and non-hazardouswaste stabilization because the dry sorbent by-products have high free quicklime (CaO) contents andanhydrous calcium sulfate (CaSO) *** solidification reactions can take place,includinghydration,carbonation,pozzolanic activity and ettringite *** lime injection scrubber by-products such as from duct injection or spray dryer processes maynot be as effective for solidification because the free lime and calcium sulfite and sulfate are hydrateddue to humidification of the gas *** and physical properness of dry by-products from a number of sources for use asstabilization reagents are discussed as well as the reasons for differences among various *** will be made with other by-products,including class C and class F coal fly ash,cementkiln dust and lime kiln *** clean coal technologies using high sulfur coal reacted with lime or limestone had TCLPleachate concentrations of the 8 RCRA toxic metal elements that were low and very close to USEP Adrinking water *** stories involving the use of these materials for stabilization of toxic metals and some oilywastes have been reported and further suggestions are made for beneficial re-use.

It is often believed that the stem of higher plants has characteristics of positive phototropism, and the root shows no phototropism or no sensitivity to light though the root of Arabdopsis was reported possessing characteristics of negative phototropism. In this study, a distinct negative phototropism of the root system of rice seedlings was observed.

Studying the sterility of indica/japonica hybrid was a prerequisite for the utilization of heterosis in high yield rice breeding. In 1986, Ikehashi et al found that wide compatibility varieties, which possessed S5-n allele, couldovercome the sterility of indica/japonica hybrids, and thesterilitv was mainly caused by allelic interaction at S-5 lo-cus. Further studies indicated that the sterility could notbe completely overcome just by S5-n. There were must beother loci responsible for the sterility of indica/ japonicahybrids.

The Application of Somaclonal Variation in Early Maturity,High Yield and High Quality Improvement in Wheat

Yield characters, maturity and grain protein content of somaclones derived both from immature embryo of cultivar 77(2)-Spring and single-cell culture of cultivar NE7742 in vitro were studied and the wide variation was found. Somaclones with maturity 8 days earlier than or the same as CK NE 7742 (high yield, early maturity and high quality), combining with high quality (grain protein content 15.5% - 18%) and high yield (the same as 7724 or higher) have been found and selected and now multiplied for 8 generations. The results of cultivar comparison trial in 1995 showed that several somaclones (the yields were significantly higher than CK DN120) could be used directly in wheat production. The studies confirmed that somaclonal variation is one of the effective ways for early maturity, high-yielding and high-quality improvement in wheat.
