Mountainous regions have disadvantages in economic development because of harsh physical and climatic ***,winter tourism activities are one of the key components for supporting economic development in the *** a ski resort area supports direct and indirect employment in a region,and it stops immigration from mountainous regions to other *** research aimed to assess the potential ski areas using a multi criteria evaluation technique in the Van region which is located in the eastern part of Tü*** this context,snow cover duration,sun effect,slope,slope length,elevation,population density,distance from main roads and lake visibility were used as input factors in the decision making *** factor was standardized using a fuzzy technique based on existing well-known ski centers in Tü*** weight of inputs was defined by applying a survey to the professional *** most important factors were detected as transportation opportunities and snow covers whereas,the least important factors were elevation and population ***,lake visibility was very important to make a difference from other existing facilities in the ***,it was included as constraints and lake visible areas were extracted at the final stage of the *** ski areas were mapped in three levels as professional,intermediate and beginner *** of the suitable areas was selected as a sample projection and for the 3D simulation of the ski investment *** costs and benefits were *** was found that a ski tourism area investment can be amortized in 3 years in the region.

This study explores the relative strength of public policies promoting advanced manufacturing by comparing the government programs and capacities of two world leaders in science and technology:the USA and *** on insights from’varieties-of-capitalism’literature and using process tracing methodology,this study identifies significant differences in today’s pursuit of advanced *** German model of Rhine capitalism has strength due to its long tradition of diversified quality work,built on a long-term commitment to government-industry collaboration,with significant indirect public support provided by vocational training and research *** American model of Manchester capitalism has been challenged by the loss of millions of low-skilled manufacturing jobs due to outsourcing and competition from *** study finds that the“Manufacturing USA”policy initiative of the Obama era,although directly inspired by Germany’s Fraunhofer institutes,is hampered by the contextual and institutional circumstances *** biobased carbon fibers offering the potential of a novel,low-cost material,pursued with research and development(R&D)efforts in both countries,it provides a measure for evaluating policy outcomes,and the study confirms Germany’s technological *** addition,the study’s process-tracing methodology reveals that significant legacies from German knowledge creation in the past have spilled over to American science and technology,and may continue to do so,lured by government *** studies on advanced manufacturing should test the robustness of these findings.

Bifacial PV modules capture solar radiation from both sides,enhancing power generation by utilizing reflected ***,there are difficulties in obtaining ground albedo data due to its dynamic *** address this issue,this study established an experimental testing system on a rooftop and developed a model to analyze dynamic albedo variations,utilizing specific data from the *** results showed that the all-day dynamic variations in ground albedo ranged from 0.15 to 0.22 with an average of ***,this study evaluates the annual performance of a bifacial PV system in Beijing by considering the experimental conditions,utilizing bifacial modules with a front-side efficiency of 21.23%and a bifaciality factor of 0.8,and analyzing the dynamic all-day albedo data obtained from the numerical *** results indicate that the annual radiation on the rear side of bifacial PV modules is 278.90 kWh/m^(2),which accounts for only 15.50%of the front-side ***,when using the commonly default albedo value of 0.2,the rear-side radiation is 333.01 kWh/m^(2),resulting in an overestimation of 19.40%.Under dynamic albedo conditions,the bifacial system is predicted to generate an annual power output of 412.55 kWh/m^(2),representing a significant increase of approximately 12.37%compared to an idealized monofacial PV system with equivalent front-side *** a 25-year lifespan,the bifacial PV system is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 8393.91 kgCO_(2)/m^(2),providing an additional reduction of 924.31 kgCO_(2)/m^(2)compared to the idealized monofacial PV *** findings offer valuable insights to promote the application of bifacial PV modules.

Silicon(Si)is widely used as a lithium‐ion‐battery anode owing to its high capacity and abundant crustal ***,large volume change upon cycling and poor conductivity of Si cause rapid capacity decay and poor fast‐charging capability limiting its commercial ***,we propose a multilevel carbon architecture with vertical graphene sheets(VGSs)grown on surfaces of subnanoscopically and homogeneously dispersed Si–C composite nanospheres,which are subsequently embedded into a carbon matrix(C/VGSs@Si–C).Subnanoscopic C in the Si–C nanospheres,VGSs,and carbon matrix form a three‐dimensional conductive and robust network,which significantly improves the conductivity and suppresses the volume expansion of Si,thereby boosting charge transport and improving electrode *** VGSs with vast exposed edges considerably increase the contact area with the carbon matrix and supply directional transport channels through the entire material,which boosts charge *** carbon matrix encapsulates VGSs@Si–C to decrease the specific surface area and increase tap density,thus yielding high first Coulombic efficiency and electrode compaction ***,C/VGSs@Si–C delivers excellent Li‐ion storage performances under industrial electrode *** particular,the full cells show high energy densities of 603.5 Wh kg^(−1)and 1685.5 Wh L^(−1)at 0.1 C and maintain 80.7%of the energy density at 3 C.

The presence of alumina agglomerates seriously affects the current efficiency of the aluminum electrolysis *** the dynamic dissolution process of agglomerates is essential to improve the current efficiency of aluminum electrolysis.A mathematical model is proposed to describe the different phenomena from the formation until complete dissolution of *** permeation and solidification processes of cryolite,a semi-analytical mathematical model is developed to formulate the formation,melting and dissolution processes of agglomerates,and the time duration for each stage is *** and heat mass transfer of agglomerates are explored based on the packing theory and mechanism of heat mass transfer in wet porous *** approach is applied to investigate the main factors affecting the dissolution stages and porosity of *** results show that the superheat has a great influence on the formation and melting stage,the diameter of agglomerates can reach 14.93 mm for 200 particles *** density decreases with the increase of agglomerated particle number,which varies in the range of 2.27-2.28 g/cm^(3).The average dissolution rate of agglomerates is about 1.83×10^(-5)-2.95×10^(-5) kg/s within the range of alumina concentration in this study.

Thermal energy storage(TES)systems based on molten salt are widely used in concentrating solar power(CSP)*** investigation of the corrosion behavior of alloy materials in molten salt is crucial for the correct selection of alloy materials and the design of TES *** this study,the corrosion behavior of 304,310S,316,and In625 alloys in molten chloride salts(27 mol%NaCl-22 mol%KCl-51 mol%MgCl,)was *** evolution of mass loss of the alloy samples with corrosion time and temperature and the analysis of the experimental results by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),and X-ray diffraction(XRD)revealed the corrosion mechanism of the alloy samples in molten chloride *** main factors affecting the corrosion of the alloy samples were further *** was found that the loose multi-layer corrosion was formed on the surface of the corroded alloy samples with the increase in corrosion ***,the experimental *** that Mo played a positive role in improving the corrosion resistance of the alloy samples because the presence of Mo could inhibit the outward diffusion of alloying element *** work enriches the molten salt corrosion database and provides a reference for the selection of alloy materials for TES systems with potential application in CSP plants.

An extensive numerical investigation is conducted to characterize the flow separation control in a transonic compressor cascade with a porous *** bleed holes are arranged on the suction surface in a single row,two staggered rows and three staggered *** each bleed scheme,five bleed pressure ratios are examined at an inlet Mach number of *** results indicate that the aerodynamic performance of the cascade is significantly improved by the porous *** the single-row scheme,the maximum reduction in total pressure losses is 57%.For the two-staggered-row and three-staggered-row schemes,there is an optimal bleed pressure ratio of 1.0,and the maximum reductions in total pressure loss are 68% and 75%,*** low loss in the cascade is due to the well-controlled boundary *** new local supersonic region created by the bleed hole is the key reason for the improved boundary *** vortex induced by side bleeding provides another mechanism for delaying flow *** the bleed holes could create multiple local supersonic regions,which reduce the range of the adverse pressure gradient that the boundary layer needs to *** is the reason why cascades with more bleed holes perform better.

Local heat transfer and flow characteristics,which is crucial to the overall performance of supercritical CO_(2) recuperators,is rarely examined in details in reported *** this paper,the local heat transfer and flow characteristics of supercritical CO_(2) in sinusoidal channel printed circuit heat exchangers are numerically investigated under the working conditions of *** on the simplified physical model constituted by10 pitches,the variations of Re,heat flux,Nu,secondary flow and other relevant parameters along the flow direction are analyzed *** is further made between the high and low temperature recuperators(HTR and LTR).It's observed that the local heat transfer and flow characteristics vary greatly from the inlet to the outlet,especially in the *** of 127.5% and 61.7% can be observed on the cold side of the LTR for Re and heat transfer coefficient h, *** indicate that the temperature difference and heat transfer coefficient h should not be regarded as constant and the distribution of h should be carefully considered in the design of the *** complicated interactions among the varying thermophysical properties,buoyancy and the periodically changed centrifugal force are believed to be the key that shapes the flow ***,the changes of the wavy angle θ are found to have greater influence than the changes of mass flow rate in reshaping the flow field when θ>25°.Though gravity direction strongly affects the local heat transfer and flow characteristics,it's also found that the effects on the overall thermal-hydraulic performance are relatively *** the installation direction that yields a_y=g should better be avoided for the sinusoidal channel printed circuit heat exchanger.
