It is an important way to realize rural revitalization and sustainable development to guide rural settlement transition(RST)in an appropriate *** paper uses actor network theory(ANT)to construct a theoretical framework for the study of *** two typical villages with different transition paths in rural areas of North China Plain as examples,this paper reveals the mechanism of RST and makes a comparative *** results show that:1)after identifying problems and obligatory passage point,key actors recruit heterogeneous actors into the actor network by entrusting them with common interests,and realize RST under the system operation.2)Rural settlements under different transition paths have similarities in the problems to be solved,collective actions and policy factors,but there are differences in the transition process,mechanism and *** actor network and mechanism of RST through the path of new rural community construction are more complex and the transition effect is more *** contrast,the degree of RST of retention development path is limited if there is no resource and location advantage.3)Based on the applicable conditions of different paths,this paper designs a logical framework of‘Situation-Structure-Behavior-Result’to scientifically guide the identification of RST paths under the background of rural revitalization.

This study investigates the macroeconomic impact of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)on Pakistan using the synthetic control *** on the panel data of 42 non-BRI countries,we construct a synthetic Pakistan to estimate the economic growth trend of the country without the *** comparing the actual economy with the synthetic case,our results show that the BRI increases the annual per capita GDP growth rate of Pakistan from 3.04%to 4.69%for the period ***’s per capita GDP in 2018 would have been Int$5,022 instead of Int$5,567 if the BRI had not *** outcomes of the in-time placebo test,in-place placebo test,and dropping sample test all confirm the robust impact of the BRI on Pakistan.

Interregional compensation for farmland protection:From the perspective of farmland allocation optimization

Interregional compensation for farmland protection(IRCFP)is a policy instrument for encouraging farmland protection through interregional fiscal transfer *** practices and studies on IRCFP have generally determined the payers and recipients of compensation based on the present distribution of farmland,and the compensation standards did not combine farmland development right value with farmland deficit and surplus,resulting in insignificant effects on farmland protection and even policy ***,in this study,we proposed an interregional compensation mechanism for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization by considering 31 provincial-level regions in *** results showed that(1)the determination of farmland surplus or deficit areas based on farmland allocation optimization met the regional construction land demand from the perspective of achieving food security.(2)The combination of the compensation value standard and cropland deficit and surplus had a positive effect on farmland protection.(3)Interregional compensation for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization can coordinate economic development,farmland protection,and ecological ***,we discussed the rationality of interregional compensation for farmland protection based on farmland allocation optimization and designed the operation mechanism of IRCFP.

Socioecological inequity in environmental data science—such as inequities deriving from data-driven approaches and machine learning(ML)—are current issues subject to debate and *** is growing consensus around embedding equity throughout all research and design domains—from inception to administration,while also addressing procedural,distributive,and recognitional ***,practically doing so may seem onerous or daunting to *** current perspective helps to alleviate these types of concerns by providing substantiation for the connection between environmental data science and socioecological inequity,using the Systemic Equity Framework,and provides the foundation for a paradigmatic shift toward normalizing the use of equity-centered approaches in environmental data science and ML *** the integrity of environmental data science and ML is just beginning from an equity-centered tool development and rigorous application *** this end,this perspective also provides relevant future directions and challenges by overviewing some meaningful tools and strategies—such as applying the Wells-Du Bois Protocol,employing fairness metrics,and systematically addressing irreproducibility;emerging needs and proposals—such as addressing data-proxy bias and supporting convergence research;and establishes a ten-step path ***,the work that environmental scientists and engineers do ultimately affect the well-being of us all.

What are the underlying causes and dynamics of land use conflicts in metropolitan junction areas?A case study of the central Chengdu–Chongqing region in China

Land use conflicts(LUCs),as a spatial manifestation of the conflicts in the human-land relationships,have a profound impact on regional sustainable *** China’s metropolitan junction areas(MJAs),the existence of“administrative district economies”has made the issue of LUCs more *** on a case study of the central Chengdu–Chongqing region,we conducted an exploratory spatial data analysis of the evolutionary process of regional ***,structural equation modeling was utilized to analyze the dynamic mechanism of LUCs in MJAs,with a particular emphasis on exploring the influences of administrative *** results showed that from 2010 to 2020,LUCs in the central Chengdu–Chongqing region continued to worsen,and the spatial process conflict and spatial structure conflict indices increased by more than 30.0%.The intensification of LUCs in the central Chengdu–Chongqing region from 2010 to 2020 was mainly the result of the deterioration of conflicts in evaluation units with low conflict *** in China’s metropolitan areas generally presented a circular gradient distribution,weakening from the core to the periphery,but there were some strong isolated conflict zones in the outer *** in China’s MJAs were the result of interactions among multiple factors,e.g.,natural environment,socio-economic development,policy and institutional processes,and administrative boundary *** boundary affected the flow of socio-economic elements,changing the supply-and-demand competition of stakeholders for land resources,consequently exerting an indirect influence on *** study advances the theory of the dynamic mechanism of LUCs,and provides theoretical support for the governance of these conflicts in transboundary areas.

The strategic delineation of the urban development boundary(UDB)is an effective initiative for efficient land resource allocation and for facilitating planned urban *** align with sustainable development objectives,UDB definitions have evolved to reconcile urban development with ecological *** study presents a UDB delineation framework from an integrated perspective that incorporates both demand-oriented and comprehensive ***,the urban construction land demand area was estimated based on population projections,meanwhile,the ecological red line(ERL)was delineated and integrated into the evaluation of the construction land ***,with the demand area as the simulation target and unsuitable areas as comprehensive constraints,the UDB was delineated by simulating future land use *** proposed framework was applied to Wuhan,a rapidly urbanizing city in central China,where the delineation of the UDB serves the dual purpose of managing the rapid expansion of built-up land and achieving a harmonious balance between urban development imperatives and ecological protection ***,based on the results and analysis,policy implications for the rational spatial planning of Wuhan were proposed,encompassing the spatial patterns and scientific decision-making in ecological conservation and urban *** results demonstrate that the efficacy of adopting a comprehensive perspective in delineating UDB effectively reconciles the competing needs of urban development and *** framework and the policy insights derived in this study could inform spatial planning efforts not only in Wuhan but also in other cities facing the dilemma of urban development and ecological protection.

This paper examines the impact of the policy on eliminating the ratio of foreign shareholding in banks in a mixed oligopoly *** analytic results show that state-owned banks should encourage privatisation along with an increasing proportion of the domestic share in multinational ***,we argue that the increase in domestic stockholding of multinational banks raises domestic private firms’profits but decreases their social welfare in the deposit *** results of numerical simulation show that when the quantity of private banks is fixed,foreign banks tend to enlarge their stake and strengthen their controlling power.
